Show a little Skin | Ann & Raeger
tomanncat:
@bxtch-peas
Ann stood in line with the other members of the soccer team, getting ready for a indoor scrimmage, the coach was assigning teams, via the basic method of 1,2,1,2. which of course was very creative of them. Once assigned Ann jogged over to the group of other 2′s, The redhead looked over her teammates and nodded. She might’ve been the newest addition to the team, but she knew how most of these players played and was happy with the team she got.
Thinking nothing of the Coach saying that team 1 would be shirts and 2 was skins. The teen just pulled off her shirt, tossed it to the gym wall, adjusting her sport’s bra she was raring and ready to go, but looked around to see a majority of the guys freeze.
“Seriously? I find it hard to imagine ya’ll haven’t seen tits before, I mean with all those dirty mags in the locker room and all.” Ann smirked and crossed her arms. “Show a little skin gents. No need to be shy on my accord.”
The soccer team had to play indoors due to the recent inclement weather lately. He stood in line, slightly bored as the coach assigned teams using the most simple counting method. The coach pointed at him and assigned him as 2 and Raeger headed over with the other clump of people labeled as 2.
The girl on their team, Ann, had just casually tossed aside her shirt. Like many of the other guys, Raeger froze, unsure of how to react. Sure it was co-ed but even the coach was ready to hand out a couple of sports pinnies to the girl on the skins team. Being topless for a girl was more taboo than if it were a guy.
“Riiiight,” he awkwardly chuckled and slowly pulled off his shirt. Was this even allowed?
She was right. About the...breast...thing. (He would refuse to refer to the upper female anatomy as ‘tits’ as Ann so elegantly put it, unless under the right circumstances.) Not the magazine thing. Well, he didn’t have any. As if that was any more justifiable. Get your head out of the gutter.
He shook his head and nodded his head in the direction of the other players. It was best if he just didn’t acknowledge what just happened. The coach wasn’t saying anything, neither were the rest of the players.
“We should probably figure out positions first,” he noted.
Not Your Grandfather’s Brownies But Close Enough || Klaus and Raeger
totheseblueroses:
A wave of guilt swept upon the old man’s face just realizing the consequences of him merely asking. How did he not know? Surely, he’d learnt of it a while ago– but perhaps not. Considering Klaus would always been in and out of Oak Tree so many of a time, despite it feeling like it was home. “My condolences Raeger, your grandfather…..was just an excellent man as he were as a chef. I’m sorry to hear about his passing just now, but- I’m sure he’s proud of you as he was like with before. He never would had stopped talking about you, heh.” Mr. Fitzgerald could even vividly see it, the last time he had spoken with the boy’s grandfather like it were yesterday. Tipping the good ol’ mans mason jar while stuffing his mouth with a brownie. Klaus decided that perhaps it was best to try not to let his student dwell on such negative thoughts- but he wasn’t so certain that even relaying such ancient information of the past would mean anything good to the student now. And yet, he still had to end his thought process. “It’s a shame he’s gone though, moreso for you– I’m sure. I would kill to have any more of his bouillabaisse, or even his brownies. They were the best.” “Do you still cook, Raeger? If you don’t mind me asking.”
He felt bad about turning this conversation into such a melancholic and dolesome one. He never meant to make others feel or pity him. All he wanted was to get the notes. Maybe if he left now, he could avoid discussing this topic any further.
Raeger’s eyes lit up at Mr. Fitzgerald’s words and his head perked up. Knowing that his grandfather was proud was all he could ever ask for. His grandfather had done so much for Raeger. He took care of him when his mom didn’t, he taught him everything he knows. In return, he was forever in debt and using the skills he was taught to make him proud was the least Raeger could do.
“Oh yeah, I do.” He nodded. “I hope that one day, I’ll be as great of a chef as he was.” If that was even possible. No two chefs can make the same dish.
He guessed that was the good thing about cooking. To him, it was more than just a hobby like it was to the other students here. It was a way to connect him with his grandfather.
Boys over Flour(s) || Fritz and Raeger
greenhillzxne:
【☘】~ Fritz was really worried about Raeger. His friend could always be a bit moody, but it had gotten considerably worse these past few days. The guy barely left his dorm room, and when he did go out, he spent his days in some depressing, listless trance. Just going through the motions, and not really interacting with anything or anyone.
Now Fritz? He could be called a lot of things. Awesome, super cool, and maybe an idiot or super clumsy, sometimes. But never let it be said that he didn’t pay attention when it came to his best friends. Something had happened to Raeger, and he wanted to get to the bottom of it.
He didn’t really have much of an opinion on the flour bag baby thing. Sounded fun enough. His excitement for it had lessened ever since Raeger fell into his funk, and when Fritz is handed his bag and assigned a partner, he gives the teacher a smile and nod, though it was less spirited than the usual.
Seeing that Raeger wasn’t getting up anytime soon, Fritz decides to head over to him, cheeriness on as he greets his forlorn friend. If he was gonna be a Gloomy Gus, Fritz just had to bring double the positivity and cheer. “Yo, Raeger! Looks like we’re partners in this thing, huh?” He raps lightly on the desk, hoping to rouse his friend. “Our, uh– kid, is gonna want to meet his second dad, y’know… so come on and say hi! Turn that frown upside down before ya do, though– I heard that sort of thing scares babies.”
“I guess,” he sighed.
He lifted his head from the desk slow and languid. He tried to do what Fritz suggested and meekly smiled but it quickly dissolved back into a frown. Raeger truly felt terrible, not only from the heartbreak but for Fritz. He wasn’t going to be a suitable partner and he was only going to drag him down. He didn’t deserve to have a bad grade because Raeger wasn’t feeling it.
“Fritz, you might as well tell the teacher you need another partner. I’m not going to be of any use and I don’t want to let yet another person down,” he suggested in the most toneless voice he could manage.
Was that it then? Did she leave because he did something, like let her down. Probably. These thoughts continued to loom over his presense. One may even be able to say he was having a bit of an existential crisis.
While he felt terrible, he felt even worse for those taking pity on him. Claire and Fritz were going out of their way to help him out. He could understand if she left because of a personal problem but he could have been there for that. Raeger could have ben there for her. Now he just felt useless and weak. They weren’t anything serious, but why did it still hurt like hell?
You butter stay away || Fritz and Raeger
greenhillzxne:
【☘】~ He groans, eyes rolling. For as cool as he was, Raeger could be such a naggy mom sometimes. Fritz had gone out here to partly get away from that sort of thing, not run straight back to it. “Yeah, yeah. I’m not a kid, Raeger, I already knoooow that.” He says in a whiny tone that doesn’t at all help his case, turning the heat on the stove to medium as he continues to scan over the recipe.
Compared to most cooks, Fritz’s methods were a bit… unorthodox. He wasn’t a bad cook by any means, but he certainly didn’t possess the sort of finesse that most chefs had. Heck, that most regular people had. So after reading the first step of the sauce recipe, he picks up an egg and tosses it into the air – gotta look cool while he cooks, everyone’s watching – and proceeds to fumble as he just barely manages to catch it and keep it from hitting the floor.
“A… heh… he…” Laughing it off, he cracks the egg and sets to work in separating the yolk from the whites. After doing this with two eggs (the second time much less embarassing than the first), he dumps the yolks into a bowl, followed by cream, parmesean, and two other whole eggs, as the recipe instructed. Grinning, he begins to whisk, taking his eyes off the mixture as he turns to Raeger.
“Pretty easy, huh?” He boasts, a few droplets of sauce mixture slipping over the side of the bowl from his rather forceful whisking. “So, have you heard about that baby project comin’ up? Sounds like it’ll be fun.”
Raeger was having none of Fritz’s attitude. Cooking, especially an assignment, was important to him. He continued watching Fritz to see if he was going to get cocky and screw up. He was actually betting that he would break something one way or another. He glanced at the clock and counted down under his breath. 3, 2, 1...
And there it was. Fritz came too close to dropping the egg. Raeger groaned softly and pinched the space between his eyes. He swore Fritz was going to kill him one day. He sighed and continued watching as Fritz added the rest of the ingredients.
He wasn’t that bad of a cook. Maybe Raeger was exaggerating a bit. At least he followed the recipe and could probably cook simple dishes without assistance. Well, that’s what he thought. Fritz was just a little messy with his methods. Raeger cringed a little at the sight of the mixture spilling out from the bowl. Great. More to clean up.
“Not bad, just uh. Watch your force there. Don’t spill too much out of the bowl.” He pointed at the droplets. “Hm? Oh, that project. Yeah, I guess. I wonder who we’ll be paired up with.”
Hopefully not Fritz. He wasn’t ready to take a bad grade because he dropped the sack of flour or something.

⌜ *゚:*:✼✿ – “ Well it’s not mango, no…. ” Laney light teases him and chuckles at that stumble. In between the chuckles, she spoke once more and continued writing. “ But yes, that’s the imparfait~ Je mangeais une baguette. ” ⌟
⌜ *゚:*:✼✿ – “ If the présent is mange, the imparfait is mangeais, then the passé composé should be J’ai mangé une baguette. I ate a baguette. ” Laney doesn’t know how long she’ll be able to keep up mentioning baguettes, but she proceeds with the review and goes through the tenses with Raegar, hoping it’ll help him get a better grasp with the french language. ⌟
⌜ *゚:*:✼✿ – Soon, he’d have pages upon pages of review material he can go up to when he needs to, “ I don’t know about you, but all this baguette talk made me crave for one! ” ⌟
Raeger rolled his eyes and shook his head a bit at her light teasing. Right... Mangoes. Mm. The word imparfait kind of looked like the word parfait. It was getting harder to concentrate with all this mention of food. Maybe he would grab something to eat afterward.
He nods at her explanation. Raeger also took notes on what she was saying trying to not think of the longing hunger. He needed to focus on French first, then he could reward himself with a treat. Maybe he would grab that parfait.
“Yeah, maybe we could grab food after this. I’ll pay since you helped me with French,” he chuckled, glad to see he wasn’t the only one who was hungry.
Playing Koi || Raeger & Pia
fishysecret:
Pia waited patiently as the student went to go change and greeted him with a smile once he returned.
“Raeger, you’re so silly! It shouldn’t take you that long to remove a shirt. You’re wasting time!”
Whether he meant something by it or not, it didn’t matter. Pia was too naive and dense to make anything of it and even if she did know, there’s only one fish in the ocean that mattered to her. Not to mention that this kid was a student of hers and that completely threw any interest out of the window for her.
“Awesomesauce~ Let’s start with a single lap to get a good estimate of your lap time, then you’ll do three more and we’ll average those times.”
...
Wow. He didn’t think there was someone denser than he was. And he had been told quite a few times that he was dense. Well, whatever. He mentally shrugged it off and was ready to jump in the water.
“Okay, I’m ready when you are,” he grinned and gave her a thumbs up.
When he was given the okay to go, he dove into the water and did a single lap to start off. Since he played soccer, he already had some muscle and he wasn’t half bad at swimming either. Raeger did three more like Ms. Arabella instructed. Out of all of them, his second and third laps were the fastest while the first one was the slowest and the last one was a little slower than the previous laps.
He swam to the edge when he was finished. Raeger rested his arms on the side catching his breath. “How was that?”

[Raevioli]: Is that so? Then come help me move!
Minori looked at her phone for a moment longer before she placed it in her back pocket and re-positioned how she was carrying all of her bags to maximize comfort. Maybe it’s best that she waits by the front office? It was obvious that Raeger wouldn’t show up right away since he didn’t know she was here, but it was better than wandering around with a numerous amount of luggage.
His phone buzzed and Raeger stared blankly at the screen. Move? Move where? Out of Oak Tree Town? Didn’t she have her dad to help her? He couldn’t wrap his head around her message. Regardless, he would help but he needed to know where and why was she moving.
It’s a good thing it was a Friday. He could leave campus for a bit. He just had to swing by the main office and tell them. What would be his excuse this time? Maybe he could say a family member was moving. Minori was close enough to be considered family so it wasn’t a lie. Not completely anyway. He should probably text her back though. He was headed to the office and on his way there, he sent a message back.
[Lil’ Minnow]: Okay. Leaving now. Where are you moving to?
Hopefully it was just moving houses. He would hate to be even further from one of his best friends. They hardly saw each other as it was.

Fall was coming to an end and that meant that Winter wasn’t too far behind. Most people would be excited for the change in seasons, and although she loved winter, what came with it wasn’t always the best. Since it was the end of the year, that meant that there was a lot of assignments and deals that her parents were getting ready to close and renew. They had never failed in any task and that was all thanks to the elaborate parties they threw during the Winter months to mingle and get business done. It was two birds with one stone.
Freya sat at the desk in her dorm, her fingers laced together as her chin rested on them. Her father had sent her a text about a mandatory meet-and-greet get together that he was throwing tonight - and by get together, he meant party - that she couldn’t refuse. This was an important part of her future.
And she wasn’t going to go alone.
Originally, she had planned on bringing Luke with her, but lately she hadn’t seen him around. Not that she was looking for him or anything. The thought of sending him a text crossed her mind, but she figured if he wanted to see her, he would have popped up by now. He was probably busy.
The next best person on her list was her old childhood frenemy, Raeger. The brunette was a good fit the more she thought about it. He had been to her family’s parties before and figured that he would have a good sense of etiquette and what topics were off limits, hopefully.
[Raeger]: I have a favor to ask of you. Can we meet up?
Thanks to his friends, both nice and angrily supportive, Raeger had been able to get out of his recent funk. Besides, with winter approaching, he had other things to worry about. One of those things being midterms.
Raeger had been studying for these midterms and hadn’t come out of his dorm(again), but for a better reason. Kind of. One could say he used studying as a way of coping but he would explain that his grades were important to him. So what if he hadn’t come out of his dorm? At least he wasn’t in that depressive mood.
He sat there at his desk, which was covered in all sorts of papers, books, highlighters, pens, et cetera. He bounced his leg and ran his fingers through his hair. A pen cap was between his teeth as he made a few marks on a couple of his papers. He was in the middle of practicing writing essays for his history class. As if French wasn’t hard enough. He would switch every now and then to a different subject when he couldn’t bear to look at derivatives or another Walt Whitman poem.
At one point when he had had enough, he sighed and leaned back in his chair to stretch out his back. His current hunched over position would be detrimental when it came to swimming and soccer. A little break couldn’t hurt. Raeger picked up his phone and noticed there was a message from Freya he received some minutes ago.
[Freya]: Sorry for the late response but yeah, sure. Where do you want to meet up?

Not Your Grandfather’s Brownies But Close Enough || Klaus and Raeger
totheseblueroses:
It’s been quite the ride for Klaus these past few weeks, with teaching and all that jazz. Not that he would trade it for the world, (especially he finally gets more time to spend with his daughter.) as learning new things is what truly living is. Unfortunately not all people would think the same of that, but in due time.
After Mr. Fitzgerald goes over the properties of systematic botany- describing the the range and diversity of organisms and their relationships, determined by their evolutionary history. He takes a mental note to see that the redhead in the classroom has been dozing off, and yet does nothing of it. No need to call out someone like that and bring such embarrassment. Oh the perks of also taking (and teaching) psychology. You’re lucky this time, Mr. Klein. As the students exit the room one by one, Mr. Fitzgerald starts to wipe the board before Raeger stops him by speaking- “Oh, nice to have you in this realm, Mr. Klein. “ He scoffs, then continues. “ You are well aware you could take a picture of these notes up here on the board.” He pauses, as Klaus observes the young man– a splitting image of his parents– and his grandfather’s eyes. “I’ll give you a moment.”
“And Raeger– do tell me how your grandfather is doing? I much admired his cooking and I’d love to send him my regards.”
‘Oh heh, sorry about that sir,” he rubbed the back of his neck.
Raeger looked at him quizzically. He had paused and was observing him. If it was about his daughter then Raeger had nothing to do with whatever Minori may be up to. He mentally shrugged it off and took a quick picture of the notes on the board.
He was about to leave and head to his next class but the teacher asked him a question. Thank gods he wasn’t asked any questions while he was asleep.
What did he just ask? Did he not know? Even after all these years, his grandfather’s passing wasn’t something he could shrug and explain to whoever didn’t know. It wasn't Mr. Fitzgeralad’s fault though. It might have helped if he had had someone to talk to about it at the time. Now it was just an awkward topic he didn’t really like explaining.
He didn’t like to think of his grandfather as gone. He always liked to think of him as if he was there especially when he was cooking.
“Oh um... I guess you didn’t know about my grandfather? He uh. He passed some time ago,“ he bit the bottom of his lip.
Peel Better | Raeger & Claire
paperavalanche:
@bxtch-peas
The more days that passed since a certain someone left school, the more Claire could notice the toll it was taking on her roommate, Raeger. The two shared a room, after all, so it was easy to tell when something was off. He became messier, more irritable, and overall just began to shut down. He spent longer in bed that usual, not even sleeping but just laying there. Claire knew that he was going through a sort of grieving process, trying to handle the loss of… whatever it was he had with the long gone soul.
“Hey, Raeger.” Claire poked her head into their room. “Raeger, you gotta get out of bed, man. It’s a Saturday and it’s like, six o’clock in the evening. Have you even eaten anything?” Judging from the lack of any food wrappers or plates, she figured the answer was ‘no.’ She entered the room and sighed as Raeger laid in bed with the covers over him entirely. “Raeger, get the fuck up. I’ve had enough of this. You’re a fucking mess.” She’d be damned if she let her roommate spiral into a depressive state for longer than necessary.
How could this happen? How could he be so upset over someone leaving when they weren’t even- More importantly, how could he just let her leave like that? All of it he blamed on himself. He stayed in bed for as long as he could occasionally he would get up to use the bathroom but that was about it. Raeger hadn’t eaten recently, he had just been on his bed hidden underneath the covers listening to the same mixtape over and over again.
Raeger didn’t even cook for himself or cook at all. He had been so inactive and hollow recently. It was Saturday evening and he hadn’t moved once. He heard his roommate, Claire, come in but he didn’t stir. He lay there face down with earbuds in and the covers atop of him. How could he get up and go on like normal? Why was this so hard?
“Nnnnn,” he groaned in response. If she had to drag him, then so be it, he wasn’t voluntarily getting up. “It’s too early. Or too late. Just like lat time, it’s too late.”
Boys over Flour(s) || Fritz and Raeger
@greenhillzxne
Raeger hasn’t been feeling too well recently. The paninis and mixtape did little to stop his heart from hurting if anything they made it worse. Every song that would come on made him think of her. He rarely left the dorm and when he did, it was only because he was forced to go to school. He didn’t want to move, much less, talk to people.
He sighed sitting through another boring class. How much longer did he have to suffer until he could go back to the dorm? Too long. Raeger rested his head on the desk, terrible for his posture but he didn’t have the energy to sit up.
He didn’t even lift his head when he heard his name called. Something about a flour bag. Whatever, let’s just get this over with. He decided he would let his partner come to him because it didn’t look like he would be moving soon.
He heard a familiar upbeat voice greet him. “Hmm,” he mumbled which meant to come out as ‘hey’ but didn’t make it past the first letter.
Thnks Fr Th Mmrs || Closed
Normally Raeger would make food for his own enjoyment but today was...different.
He had noticed a certain someone hadn’t been coming to class recently. He just shrugged it off and thought it was because that was something she would do and was probably in one of her hiding spots. That was after the first day she was gone. After a few more? He began to get worried, to say the least. Was she sick or something? She was running through his mind and almost it was as if the teacher could read his mind, had provided some closure. She wasn’t sick, no.
She was gone.
Raeger felt his heart drop. No, this had to be some bad dream. The more he thought about it, the more he thought maybe he was just being ridiculous. They were...friends? More than friends? Fuck, he didn’t know. He did know that he had to have felt some type of way about this girl. “Friends” don’t look at each other that way.
It was toxic, really. He knew the more he overthought things, the worse he would feel. And cooking didn’t help, at least not when he was making paninis. These sandwiches became a comfort food for them. Them.
There he sat in his dorm alone, eating paninis and listening to a mixtape she made for him on ye olde walkman. All he could think was how great would it be if she were here on his bed listening to music and eating paninis. For now, he just stared at the ceiling while the music tuned out everything.
“I want you,” he sighed. Not want like he said the last time, but want as in he just wanted her here with him. Those three words possessed so much meaning that he didn’t have the guts to say while he still had the chance.

Wow, he had come prepared. The bit of silence made her feel more awkward than ever, mostly thanks to her sudden rush of feelings.
“Really? S-sure! Th-thanks.” Was…? No. No way he’d be flirting with her, this infatuation was all in her head. Just an unexpected feeling that would pass soon, that’s all…right?”
“Cool, then it’s a date!” he winked unaware of the effect it would have on this girl, “My dorm at..3, yeah?”
He wasn’t really sure why she was so jittery. Hm. Maybe at the tutoring session, things would be less awkward. Raeger started packing up his things. Now all that was left to do was think of what to make for this session. Sushi maybe?
