LEGALLY BLONDE (2001)
every pairing i love: eleanor & chidi (the good place) âyouâre sharp, and youâre strong. you make fun of me a lot. you once called me a human snooze button. but you also showed up in my classroom when i was drowning in despair and canned chili and you basically saved my life. you have very high self-esteem and a very low tolerance for men who wear sandals. and your worst nightmare is someone saying something nice about you to your face but too bad. i need to say it. because you deserve it.â

âFrom the first moment I met you, your arrogance and conceit, your selfish disdain for the feelings of others made me realize that you were the last man in the world I could ever be prevailed upon to marry.â

Apparently this isnât the best punishment for children because it publicly shames them but at least you can say itâs better than whipping their ass. Trade physical abuse for emotional abuse, I guess? Lmao.
Okay but yall need to learn the difference between discipline and abuse. Emotional abuse would be taking those things he loves and never giving them back maybe selling them or destroying them. That would be emotional abuse because he learns not to trust the parent and loses his sense of worth. What is actually happening is the stuff he loves, the expensive name brand stuff, is taken away for a period of time and for that time replaced with a cheap brand and at the end of the punishment they are given back. Not to mention he still has shoes on his feet and clothes on his back. It teaches humility and honesty. The kid knows there will be consequences to his actions. If the mom just destroyed the stuff he would only learn that it doesnât matter his stuff will get destroyed anyway so he can behave badly. This is the complete opposite!
And btw having expensive name brand stuff is a privelage to begin with that a lot of kids donât/canât have access to and this teaches that kid that having nice things shouldnât be taken for granted! Also How is having no name shoes public shaming?
