Suzie J. Ackerman felt like she had seen her before. The girl in the subway... why?
Pomni/Abigail x Ragatha/Suzie. Angst. Implied Jax/Leeroy is closer to a certain someone.
I saw your green hair, beauty mark next to your mouth.
She looks familiar but at the same time she doesn’t know the name.
Suzie would remember a pretty lady like her. Long brown straight hair with bangs, and pale skin that seemed to glow underneath the light of the subway train. She was wearing a white dress shirt, dark blue pants with a small bag hanging on her right shoulder. She wasn’t entirely looking at her, the girl was busy
Suzie felt like she they had met before but where?
She shook her head when the train had started to slow down. Suzie stood up, casting one last glance at the woman sitting in front of her before standing up.
It’s none of her concern.
There on the subway, I nearly had a breakdown.
Suzie had a weird dream.
That she found herself in a digital circus, her hands felt like it was made of cotton. She touched hand, feeling one of eye was circle and full of… was that four holes? No, is this a button? Why is she wearing a blue dress? And why is her hair all curled up and red?
Terrified, Suzie stumbled back about to fall down when she felt warm hands grabbed her waist.
“Hey, Ragatha! Are you alright?” a voice asked.
“Huh? What?” Suzie frowned and looked curiously —
A jester or was it a mime? She was wearing blue and red jester hats that she saw around before while her eyes were in the same mismatched colors just like her whole body was.
“Are you alright? You look startled,” the jester said.
“What? Who are you? Why am I here?” Suzie fretted looking around.
There was no one there except them.
They looked at her worriedly. “It’s me Pomni. Are you okay?”
Pomni? She hasn't heard a name like that before.
“Where am I?” Ragatha asked nervously and looked around.
“We’re in the digital circus,” Pomni answered.
“And…” Suzie casually stepped forward. “How do I get out?”
“Get out?” Pomni shook her head. “Ragatha we can’t get out of this place–”
Suzie woke up with a start gasping for hair as she looked. She was back in her room, she wasn’t in some weird circus and – she hastily touched her face noting that she still has her normal hair, there were no buttons in her eyes and her body was made with flesh and blood unlike the soft cotton that she had felt.
“Nightmare, just a nightmare,” Suzie ran a hand on her hair.
What a weird dream and that jester. She felt a sudden pang in her heart, why does it feel like she just lost something?
A few weeks later, someone wore your perfume.
A vanilla scented perfume, Suzie thought as she looked around. The subway train was crowded this time, she didn’t got a chance to find a seat besides the elderly and people with disabilities needed it more than she did.
Suzie’s eyes scanned through the crowd, searching for the owner of that perfume when she finally saw it. The girl that she had been wondering about. The girl was also here, she was standing just like her, holding on to the handles of the subway.
Vanilla, Suzie thought.
It suited her. She seemed like a sweet person.
It almost killed me. I almost wanted to leave the room.
Suzie wanted to talk to her, a casual conversation perhaps. She doesn’t know the reason but something was making her walk towards the girl —
“Abby, our stops here,” a voice said, stopping you in your tracks.
“Oh we did? I didn’t," Abby said. Red bloomed at her cheeks as they both started making their way out, joining the crowd.
Suzie stood there, her hand reached out to gently tap Abby’s shoulder and was now left hanging before pulling her hand away. Embarrassment immediately flooded her cheeks as she shook her head. It was a stupid idea either way.
Why would she talk to a stranger?
It’s not another day and it’s not over till it’s over.
It’s never over.
Another day, another sight of her. This time she was alone, the guy that she had been a few days ago was nowhere to be seen. Maybe another stranger that she had met before Suzie? The thought brings here an uncomfortable feeling.
She wanted to talk to her but why couldn’t she move?
Suzie always lost her chance.
Till I don’t look for you in the staircase
Or wish you thought you were soulmates.
Suzie had a miracle.
She had been standing, and she offered her seat to a pregnant lady. That's why she was holding on to dear life on the handles when the train had gone into a sudden full stop.
She let out a yelp, her hand slipping off the handle— a pair of warm hands grabbed her and pulled her in the seats.
“Are you okay?” a worried voice asked.
“I’m a bit dizzy,” Suzie admitted, blinking up at her.
She had the prettiest brown eyes, Suzie thought.
“I’m Suzie,” she blurted out as she sat up properly suddenly realizing that she was laying down on her lap. “I’m sorry, I didn’t know that would happen.”
“It’s alright, I’m Abigail,” Abby said.
Ah, so that was a nickname, Suzie thought with a small smile. But that also means… she finally got to talk with her! That was the start of a friendship or what Suzie thought.
It turns out that Abigail Brooks was a haunted house explorer. You heard that right, even Suzie was surprised since she had never thought that she would be doing that but seeing the camera that Abby has… well that explains whys he have it in the first place.
But I’m still counting down all of the days
Till you’re just another girl in the subway.
It turns out that the guy was someone named Leeroy, a weird name for a surprising weird… guy too? Suzie doesn’t know how to describe him, he looks like the type of person who wouldn’t take anything seriously.
With his hood up, that messy hair that looks like it haven’t even properly trimmed.
Suzie watched as the two interacted, laughing when the Leeroy guy moved forward and whispered something to Abigail. It irritated her, just how well does this guy know her already?
“Hey,” Suzie said, walking towards them.
Abigail’s eyes lit up when she recognize who she was. “Suzie!”
“Hello, Abigail,” Suzie answered with a small smile.
“Abigail?” Leeroy drawled, putting an arm protectively around Abigail and pulled her aside. “Isn’t that too formal or maybe…” his eyes glanced at him a smug expression on her face. “It’s just for me to call you that way, right Abby?”
Abigail huffed. “Everyone can call me Abby.”
“Yea, yea,” Leeroy said but didn’t remove his arm and instead tightened it more. “Come on, Abby. Our next stop is here.”
“H-huh? But Suzie is still here—”
“I’m sure you’ll see each other next stop, come on,” Leeroy said.
Abigail gave Suzie an awkward smile followed by laughter when Leeroy playfully hoisted her a little up the ground and made their way out of the subway train, disappearing through the crowd of people.
That’s when Suzie realized something.
Abigail had never once looked back after getting off the train.
