Here's my version of Usagi's parents for my UY reimagining!! We never really know much about his dad and his mother is pretty much a nonexistent character, so I have a lot of freedom to explore their personalities and relationship with Usagi.
Yoshiro (義郎) is the headman of his home village and is fully dedicated to his job. As a typical man of this era, he isn't really one to express his feelings or have deep talks, but he deeply cares for his family and village.
Chiyoko (千代子) is a loving mother and wife. Surprisingly, she's the one to encourage Usagi the most to become a samurai. About her design, I decided to push myself to try something different and tried to mimic a taregami kind of hairstyle with her long ears (I know it's a Heian era hairstyle but hey, I couldn't miss the opportunity that she's a lop eared rabbit). It's far from perfect, but I'm quite proud that I didn't go with the easiest option. I was also inspired by ancient paintings of court ladies to give her a round face and fine eyes!
So far, I'm happy with these two and I'm excited to see what else I can do with them and Usagi!
