Life Update / Hiatus Announcement for my Patreon and Ko-fi! ✍🏻
Hello, everyone! I wanted to share some updates with you regarding my work on Patreon/Ko-fi in the next few months.
As you know, my mom had a major knee surgery earlier this month—a full knee replacement. My family and I have been sharing the responsibility of caring for her throughout her extensive recovery, which requires a lot of time and attention. She will continue to need help in the next few months, and I will be there for her; I prioritize her health first and foremost.
With that said, I ended up having much less time for my Patreon and Ko‑fi work this month than I expected. During these next few months, my focus will be on my mother and her recovery, and so chapters and full illustrations will be delayed.
Starting in October, I will be pausing billing for members of my Patreon/I will be temporarily closing my memberships on Ko-fi. This means that any current members of my Patreon will not be charged as long as the billing pause is active. Everyone subscribed should be notified in the next few days of this change.
On Patreon, patrons will continue to have access to my page and my posts, as well as the Discord. New patrons will still have the ability to pay on signup for access to my backlog of posts. Additionally, if current members upgrade to a higher membership tier, they will be charged to unlock access to the upgraded membership benefits.
What does this mean for Clearshore? Clearshore is not going away! I will still be writing Clearshore chapters and working on illustrations in the time that I have. My goal, after all, is to publish Clearshore as a book in the next year or so. 😁 I will be continuing to create Clearshore content more casually for the public to enjoy: doodles, random drawings, Timelapses, TikToks—even the Character Chat on Discord will continue to be active! However, more extensive work, like illustrated chapters and downloadable files, will not be posted for a little while.
Will we still be getting that Medieval-themed chapter? Realistically, probably not. I had begun to work on the medieval-themed short story and was hoping to have it done by October, but I am finding it much harder to find the time or energy to continue it at the moment. My chapter-writing process goes as follows: write my first draft, send it to my beta/sensitivity readers for review, create the illustration, receive the chapter feedback, edit, finalize, and then create the downloadable files. This can take up to a month or more in total to complete without my current situation.
I still would like to have something like an illustration done for you all by Halloween, but that is also not a guarantee, as my schedule has been changing day by day. I apologize for all of those who were looking forward to it. 🥺
I will keep you all updated on the status of my hiatus and my expected return date as my situation continues to change. In addition, I may be reevaluating my Patreon/Ko-fi process in general, and what I would like for the future of memberships as I move forward.
