Sonic AU August Day 10: Secret

Another post for @sonic-au-august! (hehehaha posting a day late in my timezone again) Not my best art but I quickly drew this up because I wanted to basically use this one as a test for other mini comic that was supposed to be done by now but I've been too busy so I don't mind the drop in quality. Basically using this event to get myself to draw more backgrounds in my art.

That is probably the best I could draw the bottom panel without it being too much. I hope this is fine.

Basically, Tails is traumatised by what happened in the old base :( and he just wants to pretend things are fine so he doesn't (re)traumatise Sonic either by telling him. (They talk it out at some point though)

For every submission that I post that has written context in the fic that I've made for this AU (which you can get to by finding the AO3 link in my pinned post), I'll post a snippet or two below.

"No, no, I'm fine — honest! I was more worried about you...I mean, I suppose it's fine then...You don't seem to remember..." "Remember?" Sonic tilted his head questioningly. "Remember what?" Was this linked to what he forgot?

"Maybe later." Tails went to pick up the thing he came into the room for. He was clearly side-stepping the topic. Sonic reluctantly let go of it for now. Maybe it would be better for his head to not know whatever this was yet if it wasn't an immediate pressing issue. He definitely needed a sit-down with Tails later though… Whatever was Tails' problem was his too after all. It would keep bothering him until he got that info out of his younger brother, and it would only bother Tails more if he didn't speak up about anything.
