“Oh-- Thank you Wanda,” Iris approached the kettle curiously, but before she poured a glass she needed to ask. “Does this have caffeine? I’m not supposed to have too much,”

“The... teachers,” Iris mused as she scribbled guesses to her math homework. “I don’t pay lots of attention t’ that stuff- ‘nd nobody tells me anything,” She eyed her irritated expression and wondered if a useless answer was actually welcome. “Sorry Polaris,”

“I draw like I told you before, or I like hanging out outside, or I can play the guitar sometimes, but I don’t own one so I don’t do it often,” Wanda shrugged, “but here specifically I just try to focus on school.”
Boring. Well, not really. She seemed serious and focused. Perhaps if Ariel were that way she’d be better at all this. “I tries, I fail,” she shrugged a little. “Y’gotta do more than school’n draw! Right?” Didn’t people have many interests? Here is was difficult but there was more out there. Still she wanted to see the drawings.

“Sure, you still wanna check out that secret passageway I told you about?” Iridescent said, grinning as Ariel appeared. Normally, such an entrance would startle Iri, but e found Ariel to be very calming for some reason. “Nice bandana by the way.”
Ariel beamed at the idea and adjusted the thick red bandana over her ears. They wouldn’t blend in, but she didn’t care much about that. “Yes!” she exclaimed, balancing from foot to foot. “Let’s go, yes? We won’t get in trouble?”

The other girl’s enthusiasm was contagious and Tabitha couldn’t keep the smile off her features. The smile widened when she saw the change in Ariel’s features and she pulled her in closer with their linked arms, making it clear she had no problem being seen up close with her. “Ariel, I like it but I’m totally calling you my gorgeous little mermaid, so get used to it,” she teased with another wink. “I’m Tabitha, feel free to think up a nickname for me though,” she continued as they got on the bus.
By this point Ariel was wrapped around Tabitha like a rainbow tick. Her arm was tight around her and she’d gotten so close that her cheek brushed against her some. Still Ariel felt no awkwardness. “Beautsy Girl.” she reaffirmed as she looked her over. She was pretty and not in an intimidating way. With pretty blonde hair like Sophie, Phoebe, Irma, Celeste, and Esme, but not as intimidating or overwhelming. “Tabitha’s purdy too. Whaddaya do for fun hm?”

Wanda jumped as Ariel showed up next to her, still not used to her very sudden way of showing up. “Um….are we allowed to?” Wanda asked as she caught her breath, “and I don’t have a car.”
“I dunno never asked,” Ariel could run. Long distances; her stamina was incredible. She could run into the city if she really wanted to. “Don’t have no car neither-- Ri’d crash it.” she frowned a little in thought. “What do you do here for fun?”

“Yes! Great idea! It has to be an all you can eat buffet though. I may be small but I can eat,” Tabitha explained with a grin. “C’mon, if we hurry we can still get the bus.” She looped her arm through her new friend’s and lead them out towards the gate. “So, do you have a name or should I just stick with ‘gorgeous’ and ‘pretty girl’?”
“yesyesyes!” Ariel exclaimed with excitement. Already she looped her arm with the blonde’s and smiled as wide as she could. So much so, her cheeks were cramping. She blued a bright fuschia that was ever so clear on her pale cheeks. She liked being called those things. Not many people did. “I like it,” she said with a nod. “My real name’s Ariel though. What about you beautsy girl?”

The growl and grin told Tabitha that she was probably going to have a lot of fun on this trip and the unexpected hug came as a surprise but she recovered from it quickly and wrapped her own arms around the other girl, giving her a squeeze. “Oh I like to think I’m very good at fun, pretty girl,” she teased with a playful wink.
“And muffins, don’t forget the muffins, the lemon ones are my fave. Have you tried one? Urgh, I really want one now. C’mon, let’s go and see what trouble we can cause.”
“Maybe we can go somewhere else too! With one of them buffets,” she gushed a little at the idea of all that good as she wrapped her arm around her new friend. She was all for causing trouble, but her odd voice and appearance made it hard to have fun. She was an obvious mutant. Even disguised she still couldn’t fit in.

Tabitha turned towards the owner of the voice that had suddenly appeared beside her and her lip curled into a smirk. “You had me at Starbucks gorgeous,” she purred back, not even attempting to hide her roaming eyes taking a good look at the other. “I can probably be convinced to get Chinese too, did you have anywhere in mind?”
A soft growl escaped Ariel’s lips as she smiled a wide grin. Gorgeous; how cute. She was very nice. “HnHA--Fun with beausty girl!” she exclaimed in her gravelly voice as she threw her tiny body at her in a hug. She was nice and pretty and had those eyes like the ones in the movies. They sparkled with mischievous, playful affection that called out like a beacon.
“They have scones and brownies and cakes and stuff-- ever had their food beautsy girl?”
“We should go somewhere,” Ariel purred a little as she approached her target from the side. She was bouncing with equal parts boredom and excitement. She covered up her intricate symbols on her forehead with a bandana, but her mess of rainbow hair was still erradict at best. “Starbucks. McDonalds--- OOOH OR A CHINESE PLACE!”

“It’s my real name. My mutant name.” Iridescent ran a hand through eir hair, turning it pink. “But no, I wasn’t born with it if that’s what you mean,” e said somewhat defensively. However, any prickliness was soon forgotten as e watched Ariel’s reaction to the coffee. “Yeah, I’ve never really enjoyed actual coffee because it’s too bitter. It can take some getting used to.” Iri laughed. “Nah, I just got it from Starbucks.”

I thought the store was a long way away.” She loved food. Spent anything she had on it really. She’d seen people coming out of that place with little paper bags that smelt like baked goods. She knew what was in there, and she wanted to see for herself.
