We all know the trope of 'Tim is the replacement Robin and was mistreated in the beginning because he showed up after Jason's death', but consider:

Tim is adopted early and is part of the family BEFORE Jason dies, yet still ends up becoming Robin after his death, and being seen as a replacement. Despite him being seen as a separate person to Jason prior to his death, Bruce and Dick fall in to the same pattern of seeing Tim as a stand-in for Jason, and nobody realizes it's wrong until Jason comes back and gets very upset his baby brother was put in the suit.
