AN: Tumblr is weird, here's a masterlist for my masterlists. It mostly contains x male readers, but there are and will be a few x gender neutral and female readers(eventually).
Excuse me... just having to rewatch The Mandalorian, Stranger Things, and all the Marvel Movies with Bucky in them since I've been out of my element for a while with writing. But hey you know..... the wips are still in fact there and I'm not dead. (Sorry bout not putting out any more chapters to any series much less simple oneshots an dipping off the face of the earth 😞)
I have returned. My bad for lying to y'all bout them wips I have yet to put out. They're there. Just... sitting there... Menacingly. Please don't be mad at me for dropping off the face of the earth for a while! 🖐😫 I'm back now so I'll tackle them bad boys again.
some people think writers are so eloquent and good with words, but the reality is that we can sit there with our fingers on the keyboard going, “what’s the word for non-sunlight lighting? Like, fake lighting?” and for ten minutes, all our brain will supply is “unofficial”, and we know that’s not the right word, but it’s the only word we can come up with…until finally it’s like our face got smashed into a brick wall and we remember the word we want is “artificial”.
I HAVE RETURNED. From an unexpected occurrence back to Tumblr! The fact that Pedro is going to to be playing a cowboy with a male love interest has given me new life. Bear with me as I get back into working on my wips.
In case anyone needs it, I have the "library" of every clone that has an official name in the Clone Wars.
It's a sheet of gifs but it still has everyone (except the newest characters from Bad Batch they haven't been added yet.)
A gift.

Thank you to user @chartingneptune for the link.)
Pairing: The Mandalorian/Din Djarin x Older!Male!Reader
Summary: When dropping off your latest bounty, you have the vague feeling that you will see the Mythrol, Mirialan, and Zygerrian again someday. Until you end up with more pressing matters to worry about. Like how Greef Karga immediately sends you after a new bounty when you step foot in the bounty hunter guild's cantina.
AN: If you can't tell, I suck at writing fight scenes, and The Mandalorian series contains a lot. So, here's to a long ride and lots of research on my end on how to write it! 😃👍
Chapter II: Strengthen Those Beside You
It was easy to get lost in thought when traveling through space.
The swirl of color drew you into a sense of peace unlike anything else you've ever experienced, allowing you to let go for a moment. You got lost in thought more often than you'd like to admit when flying.
Currently, you were thinking about the training Din had gone through.
Was he able to learn everything you had?
When Concordia was attacked, you were both still very young. From what you recall, you were still going through training even then. And you were able to be on your own a few weeks after the tribe had settled on Nevarro.
The younger kids, like Din and Paz, had their training pushed back. Yet you doubt the older Mandalorians let them skip for long.
Din had to have finished his training, or the other Mandalorians wouldn't let him keep sneaking away to join you on dangerous bounty-hunting missions without speaking with you about it.
Right?
"...ey. Hey, are you alright?" A hand shaking your shoulder pulls you from your thoughts. Din doesn't let go even when you crane your neck to look up at him.
You examine him, feeling a stupid smile crawl across your lips before noticing the beep from the navigator in front of you two. Damn, you had to start doing something to avoid wasting fuel by zoning out between jumps.
Pressing the right buttons to exit hyperspeed, you manually take over to fly back to Nevarro.
"Yeah, I was just lost in thought." You mutter before tightening your grip on the Crest's steering wheel. Din's fingers squeeze your shoulder before he lets go.
"You should just let me fly. I don't think you've been getting enough sleep lately."
He was one to talk.
Wait.
Was it just you, or did Din sound oddly grown up suddenly?
Ting.
Din chuckles after the bolt bounces off the top of your helmet. You turn to glare silently after him as he exits the cockpit.
He lazily tosses over his shoulder before completely disappearing from sight, "I think I'm a better flyer anyways."
No, he hasn't grown up at all. That womp rat.
Sighing heavily, you fly the Crest to an open space close to the city. You maneuver it between a freighter and a quadjumper. Checking that there was enough space for Greef's guys to get the quarries out.
Stepping out of the cockpit after powering down the Crest, you head down the ladder leading into the belly of the ship.
Din waits for you by the open ramp. From your place by the ladder, you watch how his lazy demeanor shifts back to that of the cold Mandalorian. Shoulders squared and back straight.
You can't stop the ache stinging your heart as you stride past him.
If you could choose for him to have a different life, you would. One where he was still on Aq Vetina learning whatever from his parents. One where he didn't have to put up a shield between himself and everyone else.
"Hey! Watch it, Mando." The words are spat at you like poison when you accidentally bump into a rough-looking Trandoshan. You say nothing and stare him down from behind your helmet until he sidesteps you with a sneer and continues on his way.
This was the life Din was born into. One where he had to learn from the world around him. One where he was safe behind the mask because it protected him from those who wished him harm.
This wasn't a life you would willingly choose for anyone. But it gave some a second chance.
You make your way through the bustle of the city, and the crowd parts around you. Din follows behind silently as you head to the bounty hunter's guild.
When your shadow darkens the guild's entrance, Greef Karga rises from his table further in the cantina.
"Mando! Glad to see you back. Good job on those last bounties." Karga tilts his glass at you with a smile. "Come, come! I believe I have something that will help secure your spot in the guild." He beckons you over.
You ignore the glares and whispers rising from the other bounty hunters as you and Din move to sit in front of Karga. Said man completely ignores them and focuses solely on you.
He jovially states with a flourish of a bounty puck, "This bounty is one of the most important ones I have gotten as of late. But I trust you can handle it, Mando."
He slides the puck your way, humming, "You're headed to Gamorr. This particular bounty is a slaver wanted in many parsecs. Goes by the name Bhoa Myoduza. She should be easy to find, considering she's likely the only Rodian on Gamorr."
You snag the puck before standing up.
Staring down at Karga, you question him with vauge curiosity, "Any idea which part of the planet she's on?"
"That planet is ravaged by war. Surely there is one quiet place that would stand out." Din speaks up after Karga shakes his head at your question. For a moment, his looks as if he's about to shake his head again when his face lights up.
"Now that you mention it, I believe there is one place you could check first. Ah, but it requires one of the locals to take you there."
Din sighs beside you before standing to follow you.
That wasn't going to be easy.
The Gamorreans were too focused on fighting each other to worry about helping a Mandalorian looking for a bounty. But it wasn't like you needed their help. You would figure it out yourself. With Din, things would be easier. Strengthen those beside you. That's what Din was good at. And you were glad he was born into this life with you.
Summary: Mos Pelgo flourished under Cobb's watch. The only problems he dragged you along to deal with were Tusken Raiders, a krayt dragon, and the occasional rough stranger passing through. No big deal, right?
Chapter I: Monsters and Trouble
Beep.
Beep. Beep.
Beep.
The insistent beeping from your comlink drags you from a fitful sleep and you fumble for the small device.
When it manages to avoid your fingers, you sit up. A low growl of anger bubbles up in your chest as you swipe it off the rickety table to your right, pressing the small button to answer.
"This better be good, Vanth."
No one else besides Cyar'ika would com you. If she wanted to speak with you she would have just come in and jibbered something along the line of 'get up' in Ewokese.
So, you could already imagine Cobb's eyes crinkling as he chuckles before answering, "Trust me, it is. I figured out a way to get the Tuskens to leave us be. Meet me in The Oasis in a few?"
A glance at the sun spilling across the sand-covered floor of your room lets you know you wouldn't be getting back to sleep anytime soon. But it wasn't like you were getting a good sleep anyway.
A heavy sigh tumbles from your lips as you mutter into the comlink, "I'll be there."
Cobb croons back immediately, "Atta boy."
Damn him and his smooth voice. Didn't you promise yourself you wouldn't be swayed by men like him ages ago?
You roll out of bed, sweat making your shirt stick to your back as you tread over to the small chest tucked into the corner of your room.
The house you stayed in with Cyar’ika was small so there wasn't room for much else other than the few bits of furniture you had. Which wasn't much, considering a bookshelf took up a majority of the room.
The shelf was stacked with a variety of books, all of which you kept as pristine as you could, since physical copies of books were almost non-existent in the Outer Rim Territories.
They were your pride and joy. One of the few things you actually cared to look after, alongside the old lady.
You nudge the small chest open with one foot before crouching down to dig out your outfit for the day.
Honestly, you didn't have much to choose from. Tatooine's climate saw to that.
You hesitate when you notice the armor sitting neatly on top of your other clothes. You couldn't remember much of your parents other than the pieces of armor they left with you.
Your mother's helmet, shoulder pauldrons, knee-pads, and thigh guards.
And your father's vambrace, breastplate and shin guards.
Your fingers ran over each one as you pulled them out and set them on your bed, deciding to leave the helmet.
In a way, it felt wrong to wear it. As if you weren't worthy of such yet. Honestly, you didn’t know if you would ever be. Which was another reason you often left the helmet behind, tucked away safely in the chest.
"Luufi are you up?" It wasn't that surprising to hear Cyar'ika this early.
She probably stayed up making Ahrisa all night again. Molding that spicy bread into something edible was a hobby she excelled at. Something you grew to appreciate.
"Yes, I'm up." You call back before tugging off the ratty sleep shirt that clung to your back.
Cyar'ika appeared at your door nearly giving you a heart attack. How she moved so quietly or quickly for her age will never cease to amaze you.
"You're going into town again, aren't you?" You wouldn't exactly call Mos Pelgo a town. It was more like a tiny village considering its population. Then again, you'd heard Cobb call it Freetown before.
"Yes, Cobb asked for me." Cyar'ika shook her head before wagging a finger at you.
"Now you listen here! Every time you go around that boy you end up coming home with more scratches than what you left with." A grimace crawls across your face as your old lady begins her rant. "A few weeks ago you went to meet with him about some raiders and came back with blaster burns. And just a day ago you met with him only to come home with three knife wounds. If you come back with any new hurts I'm gonna have to go talk to this Cobb Vanth myself. Understood? You're not some piece of meat to be used as he sees fit!"
She huffs a breath after spewing all of that and you stand silently by waiting to see if she has anything else to add.
After some more angry huffing, she raises a brow at you. You take that as a sign to speak up.
"Cyar'ika, he just wants to talk this time." She shakes her head again before chittering furiously in Ewokese. Something along the lines of 'stupid boys' and 'always getting into trouble'. From what you could pick out anyway.
Her fierce eyes pin you in your spot as she grunts, "He better. I'm serious about going to see him if you get hurt again, Luufi." You nod solemnly, uttering a low 'of course'.
There was no point in telling her you would most likely end up doing something stupid.
Each outing to meet Cobb ended the same. You'd both go somewhere trying to follow Cobb's patchy plan then you'd both end up limping home.
He was a smart man, but sometimes he chose the wrong path to follow. Maybe that's why you found it hard to stay away from him.
You'd hate for such a guy to end up dead somewhere and no one would know about it. Cobb deserved more than that. He proved so to you every day by protecting Mos Pelgo. Kind of like what you believe your parents did.
You finally end up making your way out of the shared home after tugging on your scuffed boots and snagging your blaster from under your pillow.
It didn't take long to walk that familiar path to the cantina. Walking in you weren't too surprised to see Cobb MIA. Usually when he contacted you he was out somewhere dealing with a few Marshal things. That's what you had taken to calling them anyway.
"Hey Taanti, how's it going?" The Weequay bartender ended up becoming one of your closest friends in Mos Pelgo. His aloof nature usually kept most at bay, but you were lucky enough to earn his friendship when you saved him ages ago during the fight with the Mining Collective.
You still didn't let Cobb live that down. He had let you take out most of the group alone while looking for rockets to 'finish them off' as he put it.
Taanti hums, mindlessly wiping off a glass, "It's going. You know not a lot happens all the way out here. Except with those kriffing Tuskens and that sand dragon."
A snort leaves you as you take a seat further in the cantina, facing the doorway. This was the best place to sit and clean your blaster while waiting for Cobb. As well as speak to Taanti if you want.
"You've run into more trouble with them?" Unease stirs your gut as he slams the glass on the bar growling lowly in a language you don't recognize.
"They took out this small group of traders I had a good connection with. It made what little stock I have plummet." He sighs before straightening up, grabbing another glass to clean. "I suppose nothin' can really be done about them."
You can't help the small smile you send his way. He frowns when he notices.
"Don't tell me the Marshal-" Taanti cuts himself off when a figure darkens the doorway to the cantina.
Your heart somersaults in your chest at the sight of the fully beskar clad Mandalorian.
Taanti stiffens, glancing at you before focusing on the Mandalorian. There was only one reason a Mandalorian would be in this nearly isolated town.
He was hunting someone.
Tannti, remaining his usual aloof self, examines the Mandalorian before saying, "Can I help you?"
The Mandalorian looks straight over at you before approaching the bar and leaning against it.
"I'm looking for a Mandalorian." When he speaks you can't help shuddering. The voice modulator he had in his helmet did little to hide the timber of his voice. And the way he stood, there was a quiet air of confidence around him that spoke volumes of what he was capable of.
Dank farrik you were screwed.
If he was here for you, you wouldn't put up much of a fight. There was no point trying to fight a Mandalorian. Especially since you didn’t want to drag anyone else into problems from your past. You guess someone scraped up enough credits to take you down after what you did.
"Well, we don't get many visitors in these parts. Can you describe him?" Tannti looks down at the glass in his hand. You can tell the Mandalorian's presence unnerves him.
"Someone who looks like me." The Mandalorian leans back and you can feel his eyes burning into you from behind the helmet. You try to ignore him and focus on cleaning your blaster, but you notice Tannti looking over at you too.
"You mean the Marshal?" The glare you throw Tannti's way is enough to keep him from mentioning you as well.
The armor you wore, however, was glaringly obvious. It was what kept drawing the Mandalorians attention to you. You didn't have a doubt in your mind that he would want to take it. But it was rightfully yours.
The Mandalorian continues to look at you as he questions Tannti, "Your Marshal wears Mandalorian armor?" He didn't sound too happy to learn this. Then again he wasn't exactly mad about it, just curious and maybe confused. It was hard to tell with the helmet masking his facial expression.
When another figure darkens the doorway to the cantina, you feel yourself relax.
Tannti looks over at the same time you do, stating, "Well, see for yourself."
As the Mandalorian turns to face Cobb you finally see the little green creature messing around with the spittoon pot by the doors. Ugh, what in the Maker is that?
The creature's round eyes peer at you over the lip of the spittoon and you feel a smile tug at the corner of your lips. It was kinda cute... In a weird way.
The creature coos and wobbles over to you making you glance nervously at the Mandalorian. Luckily he seems to be focused on Cobb. His stance relaxes a bit at the sight of someone that looks like him.
"What brings you here, stranger?" Cobb speaks up after the two men examine each other. He was excited to see a real Mandalorian up close. Funny how you could easily read Cobb with the helmet on, but not the Mandalorian.
"I've been searching for you for many parsecs." He utters in a notably softer tone than when speaking to Tannti.
Cobb being Cobb motions to himself with a flourish while humming, "Well, now you found me." He makes his way up to Taanti.
"Weequay, two snorts of spotchka." He hums, taking the offered bottle and two cups from Taanti before moving over to a table. "Why don't you join me for a drink?"
He makes his way past the Mandalorian to a table sitting down. As he goes to remove the helmet you notice how the Mandalorian stops in his tracks following Cobb. You click the last piece of your blaster back in place and see the Mandalorian go ridged.
Well, that wasn't a good sign.
You guess in Mandalorian culture someone who wasn't a Mandalorian shouldn't wear the armor. How much of a sin that was to them you didn't know. If you had to help Cobb fight a Mandalorian you would.
Small taloned fingers gripping your pants leg pull your attention off the stiff Mandalorian and down to the green creature.
Cobb continues on speaking as if he weren't in any danger, "I've never met a real Mandalorian." You can hear him chuckle as you focus on the creature. "Heard stories. I know you're good at killing. And probably none too happy to see me wearing this hardware. So… I figure only one of us walking out of here. But then I see the little guy… and I think, maybe I pegged you wrong."
"Who are you?" The Mandalorian stiffly questions Cobb. And you know that having the creature so close to you makes the Mandalorian even more uncomfortable if how he shifts is anything to go off of.
Cobb jovially introduces himself as the Marshal of Mos Pelgo while the Mandalorian looks between you two.
"Where did you get the armor?" He was so stiff you worry that one wrong move would make him shatter.
You catch the glance Cobb throws your way. You had already heard the story a million times. He bought it off some Jawas.
"Hand it over." At the low order you glance down at the little green creature.
You couldn't exactly blame the Mandalorian. If you traveled to many parsecs looking for more of your kind only to find a fake you'd be mad too. Especially since there were hardly any Mandalorians left in the galaxy. What little hope he had of speaking with someone of his Creed must have been dashed.
Even from your place hesitantly handing the creature a piece of Ahrisa bread from Cyar'ika you can hear Cobb straighten up.
"Look, pal, I'm sure you call the shots where you come from, but 'round here, I'm the one who tells folks what to do."
The Mandalorian steps closer to Cobb firmly stating, "Take it off." His hand hovers over the blaster at his side. "Or I will."
The creature by then has managed to crawl into your lap. How he managed to pull his tiny body up to you goes over your head. The little monster was oblivious to the danger, reaching for the rest of your bread. Him being literally in your hands puts you in a bad position, considering the creature belongs to the Mandalorian who was currently facing off against your friend. And his gaze was honed in on you, occasionally flicking back to Cobb.
"We gonna do this in front o' the kid?" Your idiot of a friend questions with a tilt of his head, pointing at the creature. A shiver rolls down your spine and the creature coos, tilting his head to peer up at you as if he can sense your unease.
"He's seen worse." The Mandalorian utters and you suddenly realize you were holding the hunter's kid.
Shit.
Cobb sighs, "Right here, then?"
"Right here." The Mandalorian stands his ground as Cobb slowly stands.
You knew Cobb was smarter than this. He might pick the wrong path to follow going after raiders or the Tuskens, but he wouldn't willingly put anyone except himself in danger. If anything you both had more monsters and trouble to worry about than a Mandalorian wanting armor returned to his people. Cobb had to come up with something quickly. Hopefully, the Mandalorian didn't have an itchy trigger finger.

Luufi - Ewokese for flower.
Cyar'ika - Mando'a for sweetheart, beloved, or darling. In this case, your old lady is known as Sweetheart/Darling, depending on which one you like more. Even Beloved could work if you like that one better than the others.
Aikiyc beroya - Mando'a for desperate bounty hunter.
AN: I honestly don't know if I'm writing the Mando'a words right because there isn't really a lot in the Mando'a dictionary to begin with, but I believe I did well. The Mando'a translator helps.
Tag yourself. I'm the Mythosaur hiding at the bottom of waters thinking, "Ain't nobody gonna find me down here", and then this idiot Mandalorian just falls ass first into your home while he's taking a bath.
