New digs, and the fragrant (basil and thyme) bouquet my friend made for me for the new digs. ☺ I'm happy.
So, this blog somehow reached 10,000 followers and I have no idea how or why, but I am grateful for all of you sticking around. I’m doing a little give away of things that I like.
There will be three winners. The first winner gets the first pick and the second gets to choose next and the third gets what’s is left. Here are the options:

I burn their cinnamon and clove incense separately at my shop. I’ll also thrown in some combined Cinnamon and clove incense from a similar seller.

A) 9 different colored 4″ chime candles and a little candle holder i made from clay an painted green an silver
B) Pick two sets from these candles I found at a thrift shop: the “space’ candle people seemed to really be into when I posted them, the weird cherub candles, the easter egg candles, or the heart printed candles
C) or some new and unused electric tea lights my mom gave me … just cause that post the other day about not using them for “real” magic annoyed me so much. It’s not my magic, but I wanted to make it an option if it if your magic so you can get something cool in the giveaway.

How are deconstruction and true love compatible?
To conceive of it, even, would entail a fundamental leap–and perhaps some cognitive dissonance. In linguistic terms, this leap would be like shifting the signifier “true” to something which does not signify “esse” or “essence.” There is precedence for this in Derrida (see The Postcard), where the abstract, unforeseeable other becomes a kind of ideal other (the [loved] other, l'autre [aimé]). Moreover, deconstruction expresses an openness towards the other, and can thus be characterized as an “affirmation” of the other, “an affirmation of what is wholly other; it is an affirmation of what is unforeseeable from the present, of what is beyond the horizon of the same; an affirmation of an other that is always to come” (15). Even Derrida himself at moments falls into this category. This leap hinges on hope (after hope).

How to gently acknowledge and inform a person:
Check their blog/content/about me. How old is this person? If they are still in HS/under 18, remember that this person is a minor and needs guidance, not chastising.
Second, look at a little bit of their tumblr. Are they going through serious mental health struggles(Depression/suicide/etc)? Please take this into account when formulating your response.
Finally, evaluate why you follow this person to begin with. Now, if you are 19 and following a 17 year old, then you are within the same age bracket and can talk to this person as if you are talking to a peer. 12/13/14/15 year olds are still formulating their opinions of the world, and you being nasty to them isn’t going to help inform their opinion. So why do you follow a 13 year old? Would you hang out with this person IRL if you two were in the same location? Would it be weird(mentally and physically) for you to hang out with this person? If the answer is yes, unfollow their blog and step away from the situation.
NOW, here is how you formulate a PRIVATE ASK OR FAN MAIL to someone who has said or done something problematic. Shaming them publicly for ignorance/limited world view is a great way to close someone off or harass them, and you don’t want to do either of these things. Online bullying can take on many forms, and being an adult harassing a young teenager adds to online culture problems
“Hey! I noticed that you reblogged (x). I wanted to let you know that this is really hurtful to (x) group, and it is offensive because of (x) reason. I just wanted to let you know because you may not have known. Thank you for receiving this message and listening”
This points out what is wrong, why it is wrong, and does not demand anything of the person you are sending this message to
And then you step away. Do not send this person 20 asks. Do not threaten them. STEP AWAY.
If they engage, respond, or ask further questions, answer them kindly. If they don’t respond, don’t continue to engage.
REMEMBER: you were 14 once too. You said and did things that you cringe at now. You said and did things that were problematic. Getting yelled at was not what you needed. You grew up, you learned, you changed. Let others do the same.

Hi! In regards to your post about smudging, that is most often the term used for the ritual which Native Americans perform. In Celtic/Appalachian tradition, the term is saining. While the two are very different rites, (saining is used for many different situations, including blessings, and usually involves juniper rather than sage) the Celtic tradition (so far as I know) is not a closed culture and can be used by eclectic and/or wiccan witches/pagans.
Ah, yes. I have hear of Saining and recaning. Many cultures use smoke cleansing, even the catholic church uses incense as a verb for the act of smoke cleansing.
Also, not all NA Nations use sage. Many use juniper, cedar, sweetgrass or other local herbs. I think it is amusing when people think all Native American somehow used sage when it doesn’t even grow in large parts of this country.
