Our Dennis officially graduated this morning! When he was 2 diagnosed with autism and was non verbal they told me to give up on any dreams I had for him. I REFUSED AND HE EXCELLED! When they wanted to keep him in special education I REFUSED AND HE EXCELLED! HE GRADUATED HIGH SCHOOL WITH HONORS! BEEN ON HONOR ROLL ALMOST THE ENTIRE 4YRS! DON'T LET ANYONE COUNT YOUR CHILD OUT! I will not go quietly into the night just to keep some people from feeling "UNCOMFORTABLE". I feel UNCOMFORTABLE to say the very least! We as Human beings should feel UNCOMFORTABLE with everything that is going on! I was raised to believe it was shameful to see others suffering, in need and hurting and not help. If someone is literally drowning in front of you and you say "you're in my thoughts and prayers" but don't throw them a life preserver or help them out of the water but stand there watching them drown what good is that?! If someone is starving and you say "That's terrible. You're in my thoughts and prayers" but you don't feed them what good is that?! Has it ever crossed your mind that YOU might be the very person that God wants to use to help others? God wants you to love others but LOVE IS AN ACTION WORD! That means you have to DO SOMETHING!
