Every so often, my personality clashes with people. That's fine, I've accepted that it happens and am aware of how much of it's my fault (usually it's a lot). But when it happens, I make every effort to extend the olive branch and make peace. Turn my enemies into my friends, as Lincoln would say. But after a certain point, I run out of olive branches, and the tension that exists between me and them sits there and festers. I get that some conflicts can't be resolved, some things just can't be smoothed over - but the effort I put in to make peace that's consciously and deliberately going to waste is infuriating. In this particular case, it's with someone who's leaving this environment for a while. I really really really wish we could coexist in the same space... but failing that, I'm ecstatic they won't be around to get in my way. Bye, Felicia.

how to really get to know someone:

1. Are you named after someone? Yeah, a famous jazz musician. My dad was rather proud of that, actually. 

2. When Was the last time you cried? Sometime in the last week, but not super recent. I'm not the most overtly emotional. 

3. Do you like your handwriting? As far as handwriting goes it's fine. Legible. 

4. Favorite lunch meat? Pastrami. 

5. Do you have kids? HELL NO. And if I ever do, they won't be biological. 

6. If you were another person would you be friends with yourself? If I were another person with another personality? It's possible. I like being around people who are not like me. 

7. Do you use sarcasm? I have a weird relationship with sarcasm. Used to be fluent in it, but it was a symptom of how angry and self-loathing I was. I can still be sarcastic, but in a friendly, "it's ok, you're in on the joke too" kinda way. Ball-busting is hard, because sincerity counts for a lot with me. 

8. Do you still have your tonsils? Yes. 

9. Would you bungee jump? Sure! 

10. What is your favorite kind of cereal? I liked Cap'n Crunch as a little 'un. I'm boring, I'll eat raisin brain or Cheerios if they're there. 

11. Do you untie your shoes when you take them off? Rarely. 

12. Do you consider yourself a strong person? No. Even though objectively, I've survived a lot of shit. 

13. What is your favorite ice cream? I don't have a favorite! It's more of a "I like/don't like this flavor!" kinda thing. 

14. What is the first thing you notice about people? The way they talk about themselves and others. Physically, tends to be eyes or facial structure. 

15. What is your least favorite physical thing you like about yourself? Uh... jeez. My tank of an upper chest. My square jaw. My face that looks chubby no matter what I do. My fucking awful male hairline. You get the idea. 

16. What color pants and shoes are you wearing right now? Err... jammies. They're comfy jammies. 

17. What are you listening to right now? Appears to be a piece from Wolf Totem (2015 Chinese/French film). Horner really got his mojo back right before he died. 

18. If you were a crayon what color would you be? A dark green or silver. 

19. What is your favorite smell? Honestly? My BO. Weird, but I fucking love the way I smell now that I'm a girl(-type person).

20. Who was the last person you spoke to on the phone? Screener from Kaiser. It's a fucking hassle getting help from them. 

21. Favorite sport to watch on TV? I'm not a sports-watching person. It all reeks of tribalism to me. 

22. Hair color? Naturally? Dark brown. Right now? White-silver with light turquoise. 

23. Eye color? Dark green (like my crayon color), sometimes hazel. 

24. Do you wear eye contacts? I do not. 

25. Favorite food to eat? Hm... Thai? 

26. Scary movies or comedies? Some of the best horror films are wickedly funny. But yeah, horror films.
