I do enjoy a good visual gag, and an old favorite of mine is “there is Math on a Board in the background that contextually makes no sense.” This broadly comes in 3 flavors I enjoy:

• the board is in front of a classroom, and the Math is waaay too advanced for whatever level of pupil these kids are supposed to be; like having the calculus integral in front of kindergartners, or relativistic physics in front of high schoolers.

• the board is in front of Criminals, who are Planning Something, and by all rights there ought to be no Math there to begin with. Like. You’re planning a Heist why do you have the Full Lagrangian on there. Are we taking a rocket to the bank.

• the characters are super-genius science fiction people. The Math is “Pi≈3.24” with an unlabeled pie chart.

I think all of us that let the idea that it's "cringe" to hate on christians gain any traction, let alone become the mainstream, deserve more than a little blame for how conservative things have gotten over the last 10 years. Like, I'm not saying it's entirely to blame. But good god it sure helped it along.

We should have all hated on christians a lot harder. The good news is that its not too late to start.

Maybe there are "good christians" out there. But I don't think I've ever met one. Because every single one of the christians that paints themselves as "the good ones" always maintains this "no true scotsman" attitude towords Christianity. Instead of accepting that their religion has been monstrously evil for 2,000 years, and is responsible for the majority of the world's most horrific crimes against humanity for that entire time, including mass forced converstion, war, torture, countless genocides, pretty much all of the world's queerphobia, and 400 years of colonization, they just dissmiss all of it as being done by people who "weren't true christians." Absolving themselves and their religion of any guilt or responsibility. Which is an even more heinous thing to beleive for those "good christians" that are fucking Anglican and Catholic!

I don't have a problem with people who are Christian.

Christians who are good will follow the words of Christ and then feel guilty for not being as good as He.

They will also keep it to themselves.

I DO have a problem with "Good" Christians.

Because they will go out of their way to tell you they are "Good."

They will then procede to go out of their way to let you know what is "Bad."

They're ALWAYS talking about YOU.

And they will, whether in a loud, pompously righteous way, or in a niggling, passive-aggresive, sneaky sort of way, do everything they can to make your life worse.

Then they will say it is your fault.

Then they will claim they are the victim.

They will then compare themselves to Christ, including the "martyrdom" they have endured.

These people usually claim Jesus but quote the Old Testament, which Jesus is not in and would not tolerate.

You seem to be doing the very thing I'm criticizing in this post. You may not have literally said the words "they aren't true christians," but all that about "following the words of christ" pretty heavily implies that's what you're saying.

Those "christians who are good" that you describe are still part of an organization that is very responsible for the world we live in today. The lion's-share of the settler-colonialism, the imperialism, the racism, the xenophobia, the queerphobia, the genocides. All the evil that has been done by, and continues to be done by, the United States, Great Britian, and every other colonial power, has been and continues to be done by christians in the name of their religion. Often christians in the very denomination of those "christians who are good."
