Did Enc destroy his soul like canon Ink? And if so, does that make him Soulless in terms of the NW hierarchy? Or does him being a high ranking creationist override that (sorry if this doesnt make any sense lol)
Enc doesn’t like that though. Enc is a character who always was uncomfortable with feeling emotion. He was never able to understand what he was feeling or what he should do with those emotions.
He was born in an empty half baked au, the only character made was him and his creator eventually found the rest of the story too boring to write so they abandoned him. The unique aspect of the au was ink was written to be able to communicate with the creator- but when the creator left it was incredibly personal to ink.
He tried to kill himself in that moment but it failed, instead all he did was break the flimsy world he was made in, dropping him straight into the voids.
When he fell into this area he felt the overwhelming power of thousands of creators surrounding him- in addition he felt the presence of larger more powerful Gods. In that moment all that motivated him to keep going was to be able to understand what greater powers he was in the midst of. It also dulled his feelings briefly, the only thing that stopped his racing emotions was sloppy prayer to something greater than himself.
Disconnecting himself from reality and focusing everything on greater entities was a habit that would grow on from there.
Anyways boring years and years of lore later, enc climbs the hierarchy of occult knowledge and lands in the rank of a heightened creationist. Creation grows a very strong liking to enc and offers a deal.
If enc stays under her light then he’ll never have to feel a single painful emotion, through service in the doodlesphere enc will repay her. They will also never abandon him, enc will always be her favourite.
And enc took the offer without a second doubt.
But yeah essentially encs soul is basically inactive when he’s directly under the gaze of Creation or serving creators. But inside aus themselves enc starts to feel his soul activate so he avoids leaving creation most the times- unless he’s ordered to for missions
When he’s far away for too long his eyes start doing the soul reflection spell I talked about for Swan . But it’s just a compulsive side affect of having creations blood run through you 24/7. Enc is very uncomfortable feeling emotions nowadays and finds his eye colours incredibly embarrassing.
Crawling back to creation and the creators is what gives him solace- with them using him he doesn’t have to be anything but a character, anything but a tool.
In hierarchy medical wise he technically would meet the criteria to be evaluated with hollow soul syndrome.. but he’s in a position of power where no one would ever ask him to get that checked. And also there’s a double standard for that if the cause of hollow like behaviour is for a creationist cause.
Like how dreams self harm and isolation is considered penance for his sins- not so much mental illness.
