ENG vs AUS (Ashes 2023): 1st test

Who do you think would win wc? Because if we see without being biased both the teams are brilliant like atleast we are happy future is talented

But not going to lie i feel India has a upper hand in this because they always have balanced batters and bowlers it's not like they are just strong in batting pr bowling

Where as England is like not strongest but i would say they are pretty good like it would be a tough fight

I really hope and I pray England wins this wc but I am actually mentally prepared for the defead

Oh, I definitely think India U19 are going to win - the balance of the side as you say, they are the more complete package and India have a longstanding pedigree at U19 level, whereas England have always underachieved at this level so it’s more of a surprise and delight that they’ve got to a final than anything else! I tend to think India‘s batters are more likely to be solid on the fundamentals compared to English batters due to the differences in youth coaching approaches, which I think will be a big advantage.

I’ll be very happy if England win of course, but I just want to see how they approach the fight in the most difficult game they’ll have. There have been some signs of really exciting talent and solid character so far - things like being able to handle the high pressure situations, brave captaincy, resilience, good decision-making from individual batters and bowlers. Nice to see and I’d like to see more of that (because we’re not getting huge amounts of it at England men’s senior level!)

Plus there’s always something kind of poignant about U19s when they are all potential and we have no idea how life and cricket is going to unfold for them. I mean, take India - three teens have captained the side and scored a U19 world cup century, Dhull right now and two others. One of them, Unmakt Chand, never played for the senior side, and the other was Virat Kohli.

You can call me selfish but I want Australia to win semi finals so it's possible for Eng vs aus it's always exciting whether it's ashes or odi or T20 I just want to see how our youngsters can face Aus or maybe beat them

That is fair! Eng vs Aus U19 facing each other would also have been fun in years to come when some of these lads end up in the senior side and there could have been a throwback to ”look when they first faced each other”

I am fascinated to see how the England lads stack up in the final against this incredibly good India team though! I suspect England don’t quite have the batting game vs the quality of their spin, but curious whether England bowlers can reign in a high scoring side

How many languages can you speak

Only English fluently, I used to be able to read German to a reasonable standard but I’m rusty now. I know a small amount of spoken Welsh and Malay.

Who are you supporting IND vs AUS?

Genuinely had no idea which I would be supporting when I saw this q! Took a bit a thinking. I’m more interested to see what happens really, but on balance, India just edge it for me supporting them as they’ve had a disrupted tournament with people coming in and out due to covid and I want to see more of the full strength team. I’m interested to see how Teague Wyllie does for Aus though, his batting has been top notch.
