After the chaos of being offline, you’re finally able to call in some referrals for your clients the day after. You’ve been splitting Kiara’s cases with the rest of the social workers. You’ve been finding yourself in the Emergency Department a lot more lately. Talking to patients that need someone to talk to, and helping people process their emotions through difficult times. Before Robby left he told you not to forget to be there for yourself. You told him you couldn’t make any promises.

You make your way to baby Jane Doe and see Whitaker cradling the baby in his arms. “S-sorry didn’t mean to interrupt.” You whisper trying not to wake up Jane. He lets out a quiet chuckle. “No worries I was just about to set her down.” He says as he carefully lays the baby back down. “How have you been? With the shut down and Kiara gone” he asks concerned. You let out a small sigh “I’m glad the systems are back up. I’m catching up on referral calls-“ he puts a hand on your shoulder. “No. Tell me how you’re doing. Not your work.” You look up at him “oh”- you stop and think. “Stressed. It feels like I’m not doing enough. Especially for her.” You motion to the sleeping baby. “Y/n I’ve seen the impact you have on our patients. You do more than enough. And I know you’re all doing what you can for our baby Jane Doe.” You let out a small smile. “I’m sorry I haven’t available much.” He says looking down at you. You let out a small laugh “It’s okay, we heard about your”- you clear your throat a little “your farm family.” Whitaker’s eyes stare at you “it’s not like that. I-I’m just helping out.” You look up at him as your smile drops “Just be careful Dennis.” You say before you turn around to walk out the door.

When Whitaker started as a medical student you two became really close. You would make time to get coffee and talk to one another. Both Y/n and Steve fall for each other silently. They both have painful assumptions of one another. After 18 month Y/n joins the crew for her first crawl back after she shut everyone out grieving and dealing with the pain the first crawl left in her

After the team's first crawl you completely shut down. The thick air reminded you that he was no longer here. After over a year and a half Robin told you about the upcoming crawl. They needed as much manpower as possible, and honestly without your quick thinking the team has been slowing down significantly. Robin is the only one that came to check on you. She would stop by and fill you in about crawls, plans and updates so if you ever decided to join in you were up to date with everything.

Today's plan was to chase and track a Demogorgon, Steve and Robin would pick you up, and then get Nancy and Jonathan. You were sitting in the back of the van. Steve stopped at the grocery store to get snacks, pain killers and more bandages. He was scared of this Crawl, he was scared about the kids. But your silence was terrifying to him. You haven’t spoken in 18 months. You were naturally a quiet person, even shy in some situations. Your mother babysat Steve when you were children, when his parents would leave town. You and Steve grew very close. As much of an ass that he was in his earlier teen years he still looked out for you.

You kept your distance once you started to develop feelings for him. Soon after he became obsessed with Nancy, and that’s when you became just another student in the halls of Hawkins High to him.

You snap out of your thoughts as a hand reaches your shoulder. You have no idea when she even moved to the back but Robin is now looking down at you. “I missed you.” She says softly “We all missed you.” She reassures you. “Especially him.” You look up at her holding her hand on your shoulder. “I know I haven’t been the greatest friend lately, I showed up for the first crawl but I couldn’t go back there.”- she immediately cuts you off. “No. You’re grieving Y/n. We know you are. And we’re more than happy to welcome you to your first crawl after a while. We really need that quick brain of yours.” You let out a soft smile that quickly fades away “it’s been 18 months robs. And it still hurts.” She squeezes your shoulder, she knows you and Dustin were the most affected. She’s not going to pretend to understand your grief. All she can do is listen and be there for you.

“I’ve been seeing Max more often lately. I never stopped seeing her. But Robs, I feel like it’s my fault” she nods her head no “No Y/n. Do not torture yourself like that. No one knew this would happen. And we ruled out that he cursed you” she whispers in the last part, afraid to even mention Vecna. Before becoming close with Eddie. You might have slept with Billy Hargrove a few times. Even though you both were good at keeping sex and your friendship separate, Eddie helped you out of that toxic self destruction. With time as you and the group came together to track Vecna’s curse’s, they assured you that your dream was not a curse. To this day you feel guilty about Max.

You and Robin stare outside of the window watching Steve walking back with a load of grocery bags. You quickly whisper to Robin “Is he mad at me?” She nods her head no “No not at you. At him.” You nod understanding she was referring to Eddie. He was never good at dealing with his emotions. You saw it when his parents would leave him home alone often. When he would break up with any girl afraid of committing too much. When Nancy and Jonathan became a thing. And you haven’t been there to open the can of worms Eddie left in him. Robin opens the door as both of you stand to haul in the things he bought. He stares between you and robin having left her in the passenger seat, now back here with you. Robin moves back to the front of the van as Steve climbs up the driver's side. “Are you ready?” He asks Robin, she gives him a thumbs up. He stares at you through the front mirror “Are you?” He asks locking eyes with you for the first time in 18 months and you nod your head yes slowly.

After about 10 minutes of driving the van slows down, you notice Steve stepping on the gas before the van abruptly stops. “You” he steps on the gas again “have to be kidding me.” He says as he runs his hand through his hair. The three of you step out of the van and wait for anyone to show up. “I hope we can get to nance” he says as your chest tightens. Robin quickly blurts out “And Jonathan” you relax letting out a quick chuckle. Steve looks at Robin and then back to you. “You really think this is funny.” You frown a little, backing up. He steps forward “We have somewhere important to be. We’re trying to stop him.”- you step forward into him. “You think I don’t know that?” You ask, eyeing him down “How would you? You haven’t been around.” -“Even if I haven’t been around I don’t hyper focus on Nancy. Or worry only about her.” He shakes his head “I don’t worry only about her” you shove a finger into his chest “Did you or did you not say Nance completely forgetting about Jonathan?”

Dustin realizing you’re here lets out a small smile. “You’re here” he whispers. Steve abruptly walks towards you “Of course you would baby him after he’s been irresponsible.” You immediately shut it down. “No Steve. I see that he’s clearly in pain. But of course you wouldn’t understand.” You start to walk away from the rest to get some air “What the hell is that supposed to mean??” You ignore him and keep on walking. Robin and Dustin give each other a disappointing look. Steve stops going after you and shakes his head. He goes back to the van by some miracle and is able to start up the van. He honks for everyone to get back in the van. Dustin sits with you in the back resting his head on your shoulder. “What happened to you Dust?” You ask him worried. He sighs, shaking his head “Don’t wanna talk about it” you lean your head on his “I’m sorry you argued because of me.” You look down at him. “It’s not your fault. As you drive closer to the rift, Robins tracker starts beeping faster, you take a deep breath in when Steve starts speeding into the rift, your eyes close shut as Nancy puts a hand on your shoulder and Jonathan pats your leg both knowing how hard it is for you to be in the upside down. “I’m going to drive faster” Steve announces as Robin starts to guide him in the direction of the Demogorgon. One of the fleshy ropes gets stuck on the wheel pulling the van back as everyone in the back slams on the floor, landing on Jonathan he helps you sit up. You see a long metal bar hanging loosely by the van window. You jank it and turn to Steve. “Nancy, Dustin, Jonathan I need you to move to the opposite side of this van door” you motion to the side that the wheel is stuck on. “Steve, I need you to step on the gas.” he looks at you confused “No it’s going to rip the wheel off.” you cut him off out of breath “ I need the vine to stretch out as much as possible Steve. Please” The rest of the group staring at him impatiently, he sighs and nods as he accelerates the van. You stand up wobbling reaching for the van door “Don’t” He blurts out. You take a deep breath in and open the van door, the vine stretching out and becoming thinner in the middle. “Little more Steve!!” You yell out, he speeds up looking at you through the front mirror. You hold on to the inside handle of the van as your left leg sways outside into the fast air. With your left hand you grab the bar and slam it into the middle of the vine, splitting it as the rest of the dead vine goes limp. The van jumps up, not being held back anymore causing your right foot to slip towards the edge of the van. Jonathan quickly grabs your hand pulling you back into the van as you hold on to the door closing it in the process . “Jesus Christ," Steve whispers worriedly. Dustin runs to hug you “That was BAD ASS” he yells as the group cheers.

Robin's tracker beeps louder, she immediately tells Steve where to drive he speeds up as the gets faster he steps on the brakes as he comes across a fleshy red wall. Jonathan explains "Earlier Hop told us about a walk like this on the opposite end of town before we lost communication with him and El.” You nod looking at Nancy “Should we look around? I can’t stand here and do nothing.” She nods “I think we should.” Dustin then rambles about a shield generator suggesting to look into Hawkins lab.

As you approach the lab despite being upside down there’s a cold and scary feeling about this place. “Steve, you go with Y/n.” Nancy announces “She can go with Dustin?” Nancy looks irritated at him. “No, she’s a quick thinker” he avoids you looking at Robin “Then Robin can come with me”- You immediately cut him off “For fuck’s sake Steve. I’m right here. You can at least tell me to my face you don’t want me here. But he isn’t going to sit and wait for Mr. Harrington to have his way. We don’t know when or where he’ll show up.” you say breathlessly. Nancy looks between the both of you. “Y/n is right we can’t waste any more time. Me and Jonathan will go upstairs to the third floor. The four of you can spread around the second floor. And please, don’t look around alone” As Nance and Jonathan head upstairs Dustin quickly follows Robin, mouthing a quick “Sorry” towards you, leaving you and Steve to look around together.

Summary: Y/n siting alone in a crowed club, makes a new friend that is about to change her entire world. NOT PROOF READ

Your friend invited you to stay with her over the holidays. You always wanted to take photographs in Silverstone. You're stuck in a crowded club, surrounded by people who seem to be having the time of their lives. The air is thick with the smell of alcohol. Surrounded by colorful lights and loud music, you think twice about flying out here. Two days before Christmas all of the clubs were packed. Of course your friend knew how to skip the long lines. The whole night she was eyeing a guy, eventually he looked back at her and they ended up on the dance floor. The social scene was not your favorite to say the least.

You look up when your friend's seat is no longer empty. The purple lights shining on a familiar face you never thought you’d see in person. A soft smile and dark eyes meeting yours. You stare in awe. Blink a couple of times and look around. “Hamilton?” The man in front of you lets out a chuckle. “Don’t be too loud now. People haven’t realized it’s me.” He looks at your friend's empty drink. “Let me guess they’re over there?” He asks, motioning his head towards the flood of people. Still processing that Lewis Hamilton is sitting right in front of you all you can do is stare and nod. He leans further onto the table so you can hear him better. “I can manage to get us a quiet place if you’d like.” Desperate for any way out of the overwhelming crowd of people, you nod your head immediately.

He stands up placing a hand on your shoulder. You follow him, walking into a back door. You notice a row of booths in the back of the room. But the lights are dimmer, there’s a bar with no stools in the middle. You follow Lewis to an empty booth. He clears his throat “Would you like a drink?” You nod “Water is fine.” You say with a small smile. He presses on a button at the end of the table. Shortly a waiter comes to take your order. You look around, much quieter than the previous setting. It almost looks like a different building. Lewis cuts your thoughts off “When celebrities or athletes go to public spaces like these, there’s often areas like this. Nothing too private but they won’t get surrounded by media or fans when they’re trying to have fun.” You nod understanding. “What’s your name darling?” His voice is smooth like honey “My name is Y/n” you say quietly. “Lovely. And please no more Hamilton. Just call me Lewis.” You look up at him, your shoulders slumped back. “Alright Lewis”- you pause getting used to him being right in front of you. “What is a Formula 1 driver doing in Silverstone two days before Christmas in a packed club?” He chuckles. “Well Y/n coming in when it’s packed means people are drunk out of their minds and can’t really notice me through the music and noise. I like to come to places like these and feel somewhat normal. No one sees or notices me through the chaos. Yes I had to sneak in and then come back here to a hidden area. But I often don’t get times like these. Thank you for not over reacting or blowing my cover.” You shoot him a smile “We all deserve to feel normal. Free to be ourselves.” He puts just hand down on the table, almost touching the side of yours.

“Tell me Y/n. What’s a girl from the states that doesn’t like clubs doing in one of the most popular clubs in Silverstone?” You let out an exaggerated sigh before explaining everything. “Well, somehow my best friend convinced me to fly out here for the holidays. I’ve always wanted to do some photography here. But I should have known coming to the club with her meant she was looking for some eye candy. And now I’m here with Lewis Hamilton so I guess I can’t complain” you say with a small smile. He chuckles, “Glad I’m not bad company.” His hand now holding yours “You do photography?” He asks with gleaming eyes. “Uh yeah. It started out as a hobby. Your friend invited you to stay with her over the holidays. You always wanted to take photographs in Silverstone. You're stuck in a crowded club, surrounded by people who seem to be having the time of their lives. The air is thick with the smell of alcohol. Surrounded by colorful lights and loud music, you think twice about flying out here. Two days before Christmas all of the clubs were packed. Of course your friend knew how to skip the long lines. The whole night she was eyeing a guy, eventually he looked back at her and they ended up on the dance floor. The social scene was not your favorite to say the least.

You look up when your friend's seat is no longer empty. The purple lights shining on a familiar face you never thought you’d see in person. A soft smile and dark eyes meeting yours. You stare in awe. Blink a couple of times and look around. “Hamilton?” The man in front of you lets out a chuckle. “Don’t be too loud now. People haven’t realized it’s me.” He looks at your friend's empty drink. “Let me guess they’re over there?” He asks, motioning his head towards the flood of people. Still processing that Lewis Hamilton is sitting right in front of you, all you can do is stare and nod. He leans further onto the table so you can hear him better. “I can manage to get us a quiet place if you’d like.” Desperate for any way out of the overwhelming crowd of people, you nod your head immediately.

He stands up placing a hand on your shoulder. You follow him, walking into a back door. You notice a row of booths in the back of the room. But the lights are dimmer, there’s a bar with no stools in the middle. You follow Lewis to an empty booth. He clears his throat “Would you like a drink?” You nod “Water is fine.” You say with a small smile. He presses on a button at the end of the table. Shortly a waiter comes to take your order. You look around, much quieter than the previous setting. It almost looks like a different building. Lewis cuts your thoughts off “When celebrities or athletes go to public spaces like these, there’s often areas like this. Nothing too private but they won’t get surrounded by media or fans when they’re trying to have fun.” You nod understanding. “What’s your name darling?” His voice is smooth like honey “My name is Y/n” you say quietly. “Lovely. And please no more Hamilton. Just call me Lewis.” You look up at him, your shoulders slumped back. “Alright Lewis”- you pause getting used to him being right in front of you. “What is a Formula 1 driver doing in Silverstone two days before Christmas in a packed club?” He chuckles. “Well Y/n coming in when it’s packed means people are drunk out of their minds and can’t really notice me through the music and noise. I like to come to places like these and feel somewhat normal. No one sees or notices me through the chaos. Yes I had to sneak in and then come back here to a hidden area. But I often don’t get times like these. Thank you for not over reacting or blowing my cover.” You shoot him a smile “We all deserve to feel normal. Free to be ourselves.” He puts just hand down on the table, almost touching the side of yours.

“Tell me Y/n. What’s a girl from the states that doesn’t like clubs doing in one of the most popular clubs in Silverstone?” You let out an exaggerated sigh before explaining everything. “Well, somehow my best friend convinced me to fly out here for the holidays. I’ve always wanted to do some photography here. But I should have known coming to the club with her meant she was looking for some eye candy. And now I’m here with Lewis Hamilton so I guess I can’t complain” you say with a small smile. He chuckles, “Glad I’m not bad company.” His hand now holding yours “You do photography?” He asks with gleaming eyes. “Uh yeah. It started out as a hobby. I’ve been trying to shoot for social events or family events but it hasn’t been going that well. Most of my work is small modeling projects.” He nods, listening carefully “Sorry it hasn’t been going well. Do you have any of your work that I can see?” You smile slightly, handing him your phone “The entire folder is my work, feel free to scroll through” The most recent photos are of a small influencer in a garden. As he scrolls through he sees a couple of landscapes from when you went hiking. You see his small smile turn into a serious expression. You look at him regretting handing him your phone. “I know they’re terrible.” You admit. He chuckles as he flips your phone to show you “No, they’re actually pretty great. It’s just these. They're amazing.” He confesses. You stare at your phone with a photo you took at a car show a long time ago. You smile nervously.”Oh yeah, those are old” you say casually. He stares at you and back at your phones “No, these are too good. Have you ever thought of photographing for a company?” He asks with excitement. You stare at him in shock. “Do you really think they’re that good?” You pause for a bit. “My applications always get rejected or ignored when it comes to bigger companies and brands.” You explain as the edge of his lips turn into a smile. “What about here? I know the Williams team is looking for multiple media and photography employees for this upcoming season.” You stare at him following with a dry laugh “Are you genuinely being serious?” You ask the driver. He locks eyes with you. “Do I look like I’m joking? I’m dead serious Y/n your work speaks for itself” he says with a small smile. You take a deep breath “Okay Mr. Hamilton, let's say I get a job here. I know there’s not much in the states for me. But where would I stay? I don’t have much money to my name. I can’t just crash at my friend’s until I get enough money to live by myself.” His hand squeezes yours with reassurance. “Y/n listen, I know we’re strangers and even if I offered, you would turn down staying with me for a bit. You couldn’t be happier and more terrified in your life. Your brother was on his way to visit you in your small apartment in the U.S. You let your best friend Jason stay over for the month until he found his own apartment, at first the company was nice but he started becoming very possessive. He would get upset whenever you would come home late or would stay over with some friends. He started to behave just like your friends describe their toxic past relationships. If anyone would put him in his place it would be Daniel. But you were scared of his reaction once he saw how Jason behaved around you.

You’re cleaning your kitchen after making breakfast. Jason comes in seeing three plates of food on the table. “Are we having anyone over today?” He asks coldly. Something about the way he said “we” sent shivers down your spine. “My brother is coming over to visit.” You say in a low voice. Jason steps close to you. “And when did you ask if he could come?” You look up at him “you forget this is MY apartment right?” As his demeanor changes he steps closer to you whispering “you can’t get rid of me even if you wanted to.” Suddenly you hear your phone ring. Rushing to answer you see it’s Daniel. “If I got the right address I’d say I’m in front of your apartment right now.” He says with a chuckle. Still shaken up by Jason you try and control your breathing. “I-I’m on my way down.” You say hoping your voice sounds normal. As soon as you open the front door to your apartment building you hug your brother as tight as you could. Not only because you missed him, but because for once in the last couple of weeks you felt safe. He picked up on your tone earlier and the way you held him tighter than usual. “I missed my baby sister so much” he says studying your face. “Everything alright hon?” You look up at your brother. “My friend is staying over for a while. He doesn’t really like having company over so he might act a little weird.” You try and explain while you play with your hands nervously “Is he your boyfriend? Or is he paying rent?” You look up at Daniel shaking your head nodding no in response “then you can have over whoever and whenever you like in YOUR apartment.” He says looking up the stairs. As you have entered your apartment you notice Jason left the kitchen. “It’s a small apartment but it’s mines” you say as Daniel looks around “You know I can help you get a bigger place?” He asks “I know Danny, it’s just I’ve never liked the Idea of relying on you for money.” He puts a hand on your shoulder “you’re my little sister, you can ask me to buy you a whole house and I wouldn’t think twice about doing it.” He says giving you a a smile filled with reassurance. You point to the kitchen table, “do you want some breakfast.” Daniel instantly grabs a pancake and it’s it plain. He laughs after taking a bite. “I don’t know if it’s because I’m hungry but damn this plain pancake is amazing.” He says almost shouting. You laugh at your brother as you sit down “I have butter and syrup, I even have jam if you’d like some.” He sits down grabbing a plate and properly topping his pancakes.

As you and Daniel continue to update one another on each other’s lives. Jason comes out of his room. Daniel can feel how tense the air became, how your soft laugh turned into a faint frown. Daniel clears his throat “you must be Jason, I’m Daniel Y/n’s older brother.” He says while shaking his hand. Something about Daniel’s tone sounded like a warning to Jason. You turn to Jason “Later I’ll be going out late.” Jason walks behind your seat placing a hand on your shoulder. Daniel immediately looks at his hand and back to you. Your eyes looking down to your plate. “Where are you going?” He asks dryly “I’m going out.” You say while still looking down. “You don’t want me to go with you.” He says gripping your shoulders tight. “N-no” you stutter trying not to alarm Daniel. His grip becomes tighter on you. Daniel comes up to Jason griping his hand off you. “Y/n where can I put my luggage?” He says quietly, you can tell he really wants to raise his voice.

You simply grab his arm and take him to your room. You hear the apartment door close. “Y/N.” Daniel says in a stern voice. The sudden volume of his voice causing you to jump. He hugs you bringing your head to his chest “Hon, you know this isn’t okay? Right? The way he’s treating you?” You shake your head agreeing. “Let me see your shoulder.” He demands in a soft voice. You hesitantly pull your sleeve revealing bruises marked by Jason’s grip on your shoulder. “That son of a bitch.” Daniel says clenching his jaw and tightening his fists. “Be honest with me y/n. Does he hit you?” You shake your head “no” you take deep breath in “h-he just throws things near me, or slams things around me.” You take a deep breath in “Daniel, he acts like a controlling boyfriend, he needs to know who I’m with and where I am.” You hug your brother tight “I don’t want him here anymore, I’m scared he might do something if I ask him to leave.” Daniel holds you tight. His heart breaking seeing you terrified in your own home. “Alright hon this what’s going to happen. When he gets home I need you to pretend like I left. I need you to piss him off as much as you can. I promise I won’t let him hurt you. Please trust me with this.” You nod at Daniel taking a deep breath in.

You go to the living room pretending to clean waiting for Jason to get home. You hear steps come up the stairs as you take a deep breath in. He comes in slamming the door. “Where’s your brother?” He asks quietly as he approaches you. “He left.” You say quietly. Jason stand behind you griping your face “this is the last time you have anyone over without asking me first.” You breathe in to calm down “I can have over whoever I want. This is my apartment.” You say as threatening as you can. He pushes you onto the couch raising a hand in the air. “I told you you’re never getting rid of me. Get used to me being here.” As soon as his hand rapidly comes down to hit your face, you see Daniel’s hand griping his hand. He twists Jason’s arm behind him pushing him face down into the floor. He grips his hair slamming his face down “listen to me. You are going to leave my sister alone. You’re going to leave this apartment.” He says slamming his face down against. You shutter at Jason’s bloody face. “Y/n please show your friend here the video I sent you.” You turn on your phone facing it towards Jason. Daniel recorded him from your room door, you can hear how he threatened you to never leave, and you can hear the exact moment he pushed you onto the couch. Daniel lifts Jason’s head up so he can see the video “I you don’t leave I’m showing the cops how much of an abusive bastard you are.” He slams his head down “Are you going to leave?” He asks while pulling back his head. He slams his head down again “I can’t hear you Jason” he shouts getting ready to slam his head down again. “FINE” you hear Jason shout. Daniel grips his face “if you ever come near her or this apartment I will beat your ass. Forget all about her. You never met her. You don’t even know who she is.” Daniel says while pushing him out the door. He runs to his room and grabs all the few belongings he has and throws them out the door. Finally coming to you he sees you kneeling on the floor shaking. “I’m sorry you had to see that hon.” He holds you tight “I really thought he was going to hurt me bad one day.” You say in between sobs. “I will never let ANYONE hurt you y/n” he looks down at your crying face. “How about you go travel with me? We can find you a work form home job. You can finally see me race.” You smile at him “fine I guess I do need a break from this place.” You say hugging your brother.

When you first met Tyler he was caring and funny, you genuinely liked him, but your mother saw him and his family as another opportunity to make more money. As soon as he found out your mother wanted you two together he became very possessive, the man you once knew as sweet and caring would become cold and threatening. Every morning he would come looking for you, he would follow you when you went out with some friends. You had no other choice but to threaten him and his family with exposing how he really was to the media if he didn’t leave you alone. It’s been over a year since you last saw him.

You clear your throat and lock eyes with the figure in front of you. “Tyler?” you pause to control the nervousness in your voice. “What are you doing here?” Tyler shoots you a smirk, “I just wanted to catch up. Your mother told me I would find you here at your friend's house.” You glance over to Oscar upon hearing the word “Friends” his lips tightening into a straight line. “Of course my mother told you I was here.” You say in a dry voice. “Oscar?” You say quietly as his soft eyes lock in with yours. He squints his eyes at you “You’re scared?” He asks, sounding more like a statement than a question “You don’t want your ex in your husband’s house?” He asks sarcastically. “Oscar” you say sounding defeated. “He’s not-he-“ you pause shaking your head “Of course you believe him. You would believe anyone over me. Because you think the worst of me.” Oscar can’t help feeling guilt growing in him. He shakes his head as he watches you go back in to the house.

Tyler is leaning against the wall waiting. You can feel his eyes burning through you. Behind you, Oscar grabs his car keys. His face avoids your body. Quietly he walks out. He’s never left without saying anything before. You turn to Tyler “What the hell did you tell him?” You say as your fists tighten. You find yourself walking towards him. “Haven’t you done enough?” His hand lands on your shoulder. “You rejected me just to get with another rich dude?” He says through gritted teeth. “I can give you more than whatever he’s giving you doll.” He says as his grip on your shoulder tightens. “You want me to believe you’re staying here and not fucking him?” He says in a louder tone. His voice vibrates in your ears. You pull back away from him. “Why do you care?” You say as you feel anger coming up your face. He steps closer to you. “Because”- he pauses, a hand flings behind your waist pulling you in. “You’re mine.” His other hand is holding your face. His thumb pressing painfully against your cheekbone. You let out a shaking breath. “I was never yours and I never wanted to be yours”- his grip on your waist starts to sting as his hand falls from your face to hold your wrist.“STOP LYING. As soon as your body hits the ground the front door opens. Oscar stares at you on the floor, terrified. Without thinking he pulls Tyler by the collar, fist landing on his face as he pushes him towards the door. “If you come near my wife I will make sure you regret ever speaking to her.” He says pushing him out of the door. After locking the door he runs towards you. “Y/n” he says softly observing the mark on your face as he kneels next to you. A small whimper escapes your lips as tears start spilling down your cheeks. “I’m so sorry.” He says moving closer to you. “Did he hurt you anywhere else?” He asks, upset with himself. Your shaking hand points towards your shoulder. Oscar helps you remove your sweater. Your tank top reveals a bruise on the back of your shoulder from when your body hit the floor. He stares at the finger-shaped bruises on your wrist. He moves back to look for any more marks. His ears are getting red with anger as red marks cover your waist above your pajama pants. He kneels in front of you pulling you into his shoulder. The smell of sweat and his shampoo flooding your nose. He carefully lifts up your chin looking at the mark on your cheekbone. “I’m sorry.” He says, sounding defeated. “All this time I’ve been letting my emotions get the best of me and now”- he cuts himself off “God who knows what else he would’ve done to you.” He is terrified. You hug him resting your head on his shoulder. “You came back.” You say almost in a whisper “That’s all that matters Oscar.”

After a few minutes of holding each other, you start to process everything. Oscar stands up pulling you up and placing you on the couch. He silently leaves to get you some water. As he comes back he observes your worried face. “Oscar.” You say confused. “Yeah?” He replies softly, handing you a glass of water as he sits next to you. “You told him I was your wife.” You say in the middle of thinking. “He’s definitely going to tell the media or anyone for that matter.” He processes what you're saying quietly. “What if we beat him to it?” You looked at him shocked. “Oscar, our parents agreed we should keep this between us.” He grabs your hand. “Y/n” he pauses looking into your eyes. “I’ve been wanting to tell you. And I know I haven’t been the best at showing this. But the reason why I’ve been a complete ass towards you, is because I started to care for you in a way that I’ve never cared for someone before. It’s new to me. And I shouldn’t have treated you the way I did. If you let me. Let’s start over, we can figure out a plan tomorrow so you can rest after what just happened.” You lean into him hugging him tight. “Starting over sounds nice. I know I haven’t been completely transparent when it comes to certain things. Your mother was the famous magician Eleanor Frey, she was Lionel Shriek's partner for a while. She started doing small disappearing acts in the beginning of her career. Alongside the older she would do events to see who can escape or disappear the fastest. As the duo started gaining popularity Thaddeus Bradley started to pin Shriek’s success on the younger woman. Which lead an unsuccessful final solo act. Your mother took in Dylan after his fathers death, she did anything to support him even if he was seeking revenge. While he was in high school she gave birth to her daughter. Being able to keep a low profile until your teen years, Thaddeus showed up, you saw the way he would ridicule her, how obsessed he was with the magician years after she stopped. You saw the same mind tricks Dylan would speak about when it came to his dad.

You would beg Dylan to let you be a part of his plans. He would refuse every time. After the last time you asked, you got your own apartment even when Dylan insisted you would stay in your mothers home with him. You blocked everyone away. Occasionally envelopes of money with the letter D stamped on it would appear in the mail. You never touched any of it. You would simply store it away in the apartment. You used your degree in technical engineering to get into cyber security for the FBI. You wanted to show Dylan how capable you were. When you heard about a case that had to do with 4 magicians stealing you knew you were close to Dylan. You would pay attention to any conversation in the office about it. Eventually you got assigned to the case.

You see your boss talking to a familiar figure. “Agent Rhodes. I believe it’s in everyone’s best interest to have someone from cybersecurity look into this case with you. She’s young but is one of the quickest minds we’ve seen in a while.” He points towards you. “Y/n Conway.” Dylan turns around with a smirk that fades away as soon as his eyes meet yours. You reach your hand to shake his. “I look forward to working with you Agent Rhodes.” He grips his hand in yours. “Ms. Conway.” He says squinting at you. “Welcome to the team.” Throughout the day you work closely with the Cyber Security team to get updates and learn more about the case. At the end of the day you walk out of the office when a hand grabs your shoulder. “Y/n” you turn to meet Dylan’s worried eyes. “I told you many times to stay away from this.” You look at him through glossy eyes. “So you get avenge your dead father.” You pause with a shaky breath. “While I sit and do nothing for my mother.” He turns away. “You wouldn’t understand.” Your hand pushing his chest. “What don’t I understand? That you still see me as a little girl? That you don’t want me to get lost in the world that took our parents? That you would rather have me on the sideline so I don’t get hurt?” He turns to look at you. “I’m far more capable than you think. I know what I want in life. And I want to be a part of whatever you’re doing.” His lips coming together in a straight line. He nods. “Fine. But you’re coming back home. And stop shutting me out. Let me be here for you.” You smile giving him a hug. Whispering “Thank you.”

Pt 1: Oscar Piastri

Your hand is shaking as you stare at the last text you sent Carlos. “Amor. I need to talk to you when you get home” within 10 seconds your phone rings. You take a deep breath starting at the pregnancy test on the sink. A worried Carlos is on the other line when you answer the call. “Cariño?¿ Está todo bien?” Is everything alright? “Yes I’m okay Carlos.” You hear a sigh of relief. “I’ll finish this interview and head straight home amor.” You respond with a hum and hang up the phone, sitting on the edge of the bathtub

About 30 minutes later you notice a few texts from your girlfriends. You open a link with the title “Is Y/N L/N holding back the Spaniard driver?” It leads to a video of Carlos in today's interview. The interviewer asks Carlos “We see some drivers getting engaged and having kids. What’s next for you and Y/n?” You see Carlos let out a nervous chuckle. “I think we’re both trying to do what’s best for us and our own careers . I’m trying to focus on next season. And Y/n is advancing in becoming a teacher.” He says proudly. Your heart falls to your stomach as you stare at the pregnancy test.

You hear the front door unlock and quickly lock the bathroom door. Panicking as tears start to form in your eyes. “Cariño?” You hear Carlos yell out. You hear his footsteps wandering around the house. Your heart racing at every foot step. You hear a hurried knock on the bathroom door. “Baby are you in there? Are you okay?” He asks scared. You stay silent as tears fall down your face. You hear a louder knock. “Baby? Please tell me you’re okay” you can hear how desperate and scared he is. Your shaking hands take the test and hide it in a towel. You unlock the door to meet his wide eyes staring at you. You’re frightened face and wet eyelashes terrifying him. His Y/n looks scared in a way he has never seen before.

He grabs your shoulder “Amor. What’s happening?” He asks as pulling you into his arms. “I saw your interview.” You manage to say with trembling lips. He pulls away to stare at you. “Did I say something wrong?” He cuts himself off “Did I say something that hurt you?” He asks as his eyebrows furrow together. You hold his hand pulling him into the bathroom. “I’m sorry” you say with a sob. He looks at you confused. You put the test in his hands. Not being able to read his expression, he looks at you “Is this?-Are we-?” He pauses “We’re going to be parents?” He asks with a small smile. “This is the happiest news I’ve received” he says he hugs you tight “you’ll be the best mother” he says kissing your forehead. You stare at him confused “But in your interview you said- next year's season” you stutter. He looks you in the eyes “Mi vida, this baby” he says pressing his palm against your abdomen “this baby will have the best mother and I’ll try to be the best father. You’re more important than my career. If I need to take a break for the both of you I will do it as many times as I need to. I’ll be here every day and every night that you need me. Your heart starts to race at the thought. It couldn’t be? But what if you were pregnant?

The following two weeks were filled with constant dizziness and nausea. Every time you throw up the thought after is what scares you. You’re getting ready for fan events the day before qualifying. You and the other driver’s girlfriends and wives get together waiting for the day to be over. You were never fond of being in front of cameras much but you got used to it. Oscar’s voice cuts through your thoughts. You look at him not paying attention. “I’m sorry love. What was that?” You ask him. He looks down at you with a smile and sigh. “Baby are you alright? I feel like you’ve been lost in your thoughts a lot lately. I was asking if you were sure you wanted to come today? Since you've been feeling ill.” You stand up and hold Oscar tight. His hand flies to the back of your shoulder, embracing you. “I’m okay.” You mumbled into his shoulder. “I feel good enough to go with you.” Oscar tilts your face up. “The moment you start to feel ill again, let me know. Okay?” You nod with a small smile.

Backstage while Sauber and McLaren are on stage playing games and doing QnA’s you come across Egle, Nico’s wife and their daughter Naomi. The little girl comes running towards you. “Hi beautiful ladies!!” You say as she hugs your legs. You give Egle a hug. “I heard you were sick. Is everything alright?” She asks scanning your face. “Oh- Yes I’m feeling much better now.” You respond nervously. Before she can call you out on lying, the little girl in your feet runs screaming “DADA!!” You look up and see Oscar and Nico walking towards you and Egle. You see Oscar booping her nose causing her to giggle. Nico laughs looking between the toddler and the younger driver. “Wouldn’t you want one?” He asks. Instantly you feel Egle’s eyes on you. You hear Oscar chuckling. He shakes his head “Not any time soon. But I would love to.” You feel your heart sink to your stomach. You feel Egle’s hand on your shoulder. Feeling uneasy. “Do you know yet?” She asks with a warm smile. You nod your head no “no”. She squeezes your shoulder. “I’m sure you and Oscar will figure things out.” She whispers. You wish to be as optimistic as her. You see Oscar running toward you. “Hey? Are you alright? You look a little pale.” Not being able to say anything you nod your head no. He takes your hand. “We’re going to the hotel.” He says waving goodbye to the Hulkeneberg’s.

As he’s driving your mind is everywhere. Oscar’s words repeating in your head. “Not any time soon.” You place your hand on his shoulder. “Can we please stop at a drugstore?” You ask him, your voice weak and shaky. “Do you need medicine? I’ll go get it for you.” He asks worriedly. “No, it’s fine. It’s a specific medicine Egle told me to get. I’ll be quick.” In under five minutes he pulls over to a drugstore. You take your purse and rush into the store. Hoping no one recognizes you, you quickly get the most expensive test. “The more expensive the better? Right?” You ask yourself. You tell the cashier you don’t need a bag and put the test in your purse. When you enter the passenger seat Oscar looks at you confused. “Where’s the medicine?” He asks with one of his eyebrows higher than the other. You clutch your purse. “It’s in here I didn’t think I’d need a plastic bag if I had my purse.” He nods as he starts driving outside of the parking lot.

Arriving at your Hotel room you sit on the edge of the bed. Oscar stands in front of you. “Take that medicine okay? I’m going to take a quick shower. I’ll take care of you in a few.” He says as he leans to give you a kiss on the forehead. You nod at him with a small smile as your heart beat is getting quicker. As soon as he gets into the bathroom the seconds start feeling like minutes. Still sitting on the edge of the bed you start thinking about every possible outcome. The thought about losing Oscar terrifies you. What if you are pregnant? What if he leaves you over it? You don’t realize tears start spilling down your face, until you see the bathroom door open. You freeze and turn your head towards the wall. Oscar comes out in a black T shirt and some pajama pants. “Did you take the medicine Egle recommended?” He asks, tilting his face towards you. That’s when he notices you facing away from him. Your shoulders move up and down as your breathing becomes faster. He puts a hand on your shoulder. “Y/n? Are you alright my love?” That’s when you turn around and see him through glassy eyes. Puffy cheeks, red nose, and weak little whisper “O-Oscar” he immediately brings you into his shoulder caressing the back of your head. “I’m here Y/n. It’s okay I’m here.” That’s when your grip on him tightens. “I-I don’t want to l-lose you.” He puts both hands on you shoulder moving your body back. “Where is this coming from? Are you scared of me racing? Do you think I’ll get hurt?” You shake your head no. You take a couple of deep breaths. “This morning you told Nico, not any time soon, when you were with Naomi.” He nods waiting for you to continue. You hold both of his hands. And take another deep breath. “I don’t think I’m sick Oscar.” You say as new tears fall down your face. “I think I might be pregnant.” He looks at you and brings you into a tight hug. “I would be more than happy to bring our kid into this world. And see you be the most beautiful and caring mother to our child.” You look at him in shock as he kisses away your tears. “Forget what I told Nico. If life wants us to have this baby right now, then we will be the best parents we can.” For the first time in the past couple of weeks you feel at ease. You pull the pregnancy test box out of your purse and let out a small chuckle. “This was the medicine” you say smiling. He kisses the top of your head. “I know you were up to something.” You go to the bathroom with the test, and your phone timer on. You walk out with the test facing down. Oscar looks up at you from the bed and walks towards you. “So?” He asks as patiently as he can. You flip the test over revealing a plus signal and the words “Pregnant” he wraps his arms around your waist pulling you off the floor. “We’re going to be parents!!” He yells as he spins you around. He puts you down showering your face in kisses as happy tears fall down your face.
