@gifevents: love, platonically day 6. soulmates
happy 1k, @buffygifs! | one season
Buffy Summers in Buffy the Vampire Slayer season five
no matter how many times I watch Buffy, Tara always breaks my heart. she was just so easy to love
giles + talking about boys
BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER (1997-2003)
#no one has suffered like giles the teenager tolerator has suffered (via @buffycaps)
i’ve always been attracted to dark stories and i love seeing really dark twisted pairings because i’m morbid like that??
but spuffy reaaaallllyyyyy crosses the line for me. not just because spike is abusive but because how the abuse is framed; you, as the audience member, are supposed to sympathize with spike and that really grosses me out. for much of seasons 5 and 6 he is treated as the underdog, and it’s natural for people to want to see an underdog (even an abusive one) succeed especially if they grow up in a toxic culture like ours where abuse is rationalized and romanticized.
in my opinion whedon knew what he was doing when he wrote the spike/buffy relationship. he knew he was setting spike up to be coddled by fans and that just disgusts me.
comparison and contrast: xander’s passive aggression vs. spike’s… aggression {requested by buffyofwinterfell}
My life happens to, on occasion, suck beyond the telling of it. Sometimes more than I can handle. And it’s not just mine. Every single person down there is ignoring your pain because they’re too busy with their own. The beautiful ones. The popular ones. The guys that pick on you. Everyone. If you could hear what they were feeling. The loneliness. The confusion. It looks quiet down there. It’s not. It’s deafening.
i fucking love tara we need more tara go away riley we want tara

ok so your fav was crucified mine died twice and then had to work at the Doublemeat Palace
Most fandoms recommending media: yeah you should check this out it’s pretty good
Buffy fans recommending Buffy: omg I love Buffy except for the racism, the misogyny, the occasional homophobia, the way sexual assault’s handled, a couple episodes I personally hate, David Boreanaz’s Irish accent and also the fact that Joss Whedon killed my entire family. You gotta watch Buffy though. You gotta.
It’ll never not be funny to me that the two most emotionally perceptive characters on Buffy are Tara and Spike. Like you have the textbook definition of a Good Witch who’s spiritually gentle parenting the scoobies out of killing everyone and then themselves and then you have… This fucking guy.
my point is that you forgot to mention the soulful vampire in your list of rapists
Every time you say something negative about Spike there's always that one person ready to jump from behind a bush and scream "YEAH WELL ANGEL SUCKS TOO"
And it's like yeah, he sure does, I hate them both, but I was talking about Spike in this instance, so what's your fucking point
