>Q1: Did you have any nicknames as a kid?
Apparently Kanan is a surprisingly easy name to say, so people usually just called me “Kanan” or “Kanan-chan”, but… well, when I was in elementary school, I think people would sometimes call me “Kanachin” or “Nan-Nan.” It’s a bit embarrassing to think about now, huh? And when I would dive into the water every day and get tanned black, people would tease me and call me a kuro-gyaru, but in the end, everyone gets tanned black in Uchiura, so eventually that stopped.
>Q2: Are there any animals that you’re happy to see when you go diving?
I’d have to say mantas and sunfish, definitely. You can’t really find any mantas unless you go to Okinawa or something, but you can actually find sunfish quite often in Uchiura’s Suruga Bay. Maybe I just like the big ones. When I see a big sunfish drifting in the waves, I think, hooray! It’s pretty relaxing and fun to swim together, so I reccomend it.
>Q3: What’s the thing you’re most afraid of? Actually, are you scared of anything at all?
The thing I’m most afraid of would be… my childhood friend Chika, who’s always coming up with crazy ideas out of nowhere? Well, that’s my joke answer, hehe. What scares me are the rough seas when the air pressure drops, and trains that are completely filled with people, I guess? Maybe it’s because I live by the beach where there’s normally not a lot of people, but when I’m in a place with lots of people, I get so nervous and dizzy. It’s a bit lame, but when I go to the city, I always just stick whoever’s in front of me and follow them around.
>Q4: You’re a very good swimmer, so if you were reborn, what animal would you like to become? A dolphin, maybe?
Sometimes I think that if I were reborn, I’d like to be a human once again, and this time, I’d be a boy, and do a lot of sports, but if I were a sea creature, then I’d definitely want to be a sea turtle. I’d relax in the coral reefs in the beautiful clear waters of the southern islands, and enjoy the view of the pure-white starry sands. I think that would be the best life a person… or rather, a turtle could want! And I heard they live a long time, too.
