Merry Christmas from the party of my indie RPG, Forgotten Hearts!!!
It's October!
Which means all things autumn, spooky, and witchy (for game development too)! So, let me show off a cute outfit you can get for the main character of Forgotten Hearts in chapter 2 of the game!
Behold, an Inn!
I'll be real, making battle stuff is... hard. There's so many parts of it! Sprites and animations and skills and battle motions and just... wah! It's not my strong suit, that's for sure. I'll keep getting better as I go, though!
The starting town in my game is a winter town called Estalia. The whole town is built around a huge cathedral from a forgotten age. The town's not COMPLETELY done yet (want to add more grass and ground texture), but all the NPCs are there now and all the little sidequests, flavor text, etc are in. Yay! Progress! I'm nearly done with the first chapter of the game!
As I work on my game, I find myself often trying to capture that cozy feel of SNES or old PSX games. Retro games are my comfort food, so of course I would try to emulate that in my own game.
Here's a room in an inn. This town has a lot of interior plants, even leaning quite fairytale with it, so the tree in the room isn't unusual.
Starting a blog!
Hello, future readers! No one follows this blog yet, but someday I'll have followers... so, I guess this message is for you. I'm making this blog to track my indie game dev progress and give some updates about my game!
I'm making an indie game inspired by classic 2D JRPGs. Throughout this process, I've learned to make pixel art, coding, storytelling, and a number of other skills related to game design. Let me tell you, game development is hard! But it's so, so, so fun.
So, expect some pictures, videos, rants, etc. from me in the future!
