Even the most experienced borrowers have accidents.
While attempting to open a bottle, it came uncorked easier than expected. Violet went to catch herself, landing directly into the gluetrap a human carelessly laid out.
'Don't panic, it's fine.. my right arm is free.. I just need to carefully pull my left arm out-'
Of course, panic set in when the sounds of a door opening and shutting were in the distance beyond the cabinet in the kitchen. Footsteps of one of the beans slowly approaching, most likely the bean she assumed laid out the trap.
'Surely they wouldn't look in here, just going to the fridge for a drink-'
But his footsteps presisted closer, suddenly stopping at what sounded like in front of the cabinet.
When a sliver of light flooded into the cabinet as the doors were being opened, she nearly stopped breathing. Everything was happening in slow motion, and she knew she was caught.
Violet struggled to hold her tail up as the cabinet opened even more. Fear coursing through her veins like ice as more light flooded in, partially blinded at first due to her eyes being adjusted to the dark.
A sharp gasp is heard as the bean starts to realize that it isn't a rat in the gluetrap.
It took a moment for her eyes to adjust, only able to side eye the bean. The bean was just looking at her in disbelief, though their face turned to disgust. But not directed at her like she assumed. More towards the gluetrap she was stuck in. Voice caught in her own throat, she nearly dropped her tail when the bean started to speak.
"I told that idiot to put out live traps, not gluetraps! You poor thing.."
Panic was all she felt at this moment, but she couldn't bring herself to struggle. Frozen like a deer in headlights, or whatever that human saying was.
A hand made its way into view, causing her to flinch. The bean paused, but for only a moment as they knew they couldn't just leave the poor tiny person there.
"I'm not gonna hurt you, I promise."
