The ‘Tinder Generation’
I hate to say it but I am almost ashamed to be apart of this generation, the 'tinder generation' as its being dubbed.
A generation that is void of human emotions and feelings, that cares more about one night stands and casual hook ups than long term relationships or even friendships. Who risk not only their health but even their pre-existing relationships with people who genuinely care for a cheep thrill. Like its some big competition to sleep with as many people as possible.
There are no more "Hey, how are you? Can I take you out for dinner sometime?" conversations, is all "Netflix and chill" or "let's hookup" what happened to conversation and connections that weren't solely based on someone's physical appearance?
This generation is becoming completely detached of all feelings and respect for not only each other but also themselves. We're becoming a generation of sociopaths, manipulating others to get our own way. And that is by no means healthy or right.
All anyone cares about number 1, and most are willing to hurt anyone just as long as #1 is satisfied...what the hell went wrong?!
I personally don't get it, what happened to building close bonds and relationships, going out on dates, getting to know each other before jumping into bed? What happened to feelings and caring?
I may seem 'old fashioned' but I do not want to grow up not being able to trust my peers and their intentions, whether they genuinely want a relationship or just another notch on their belt.
I also hate to think what our children will be like if we can't show respect for each other or ourselves.
How many of the guys that sleep with a different girl every day of the week or claim to be in a relationship yet still hook up with others would like their daughter to be treated that way? I would hope to think very few, I know I would never want any child of mine treated like that, ever! But actions speak far louder than words and it would be hypocritical to want people to show our children respect when the vast majority of our generation don't show respect to each other.
If any of this 'tinder generation' choose to settle down they will find it very hard to find someone that could possibly trust them to be monogamous.
Our actions now effect our future. Think about that.
