excalibur!blue lightsaber is a concept that has not left my mind since your post 😵💫 do you….have any more thoughts on this in relation to luke…
The official Star Wars website actually has an article devoted to the topic, to my surprise. It actually isn't too surprising, as Lucas based much of the original Star Wars trilogy off of the work of Joseph Campbell, whose work was based off of studies of history, mythology, and lore. In the case of Luke, the lightsaber is the direct manifestation of a supernatural legacy of his alone (and later on, potentially that of Leia). It was kept in solitude by Obi-Wan, knowing that it belonged to him as the successor of Anakin, and as a future leader for an order in chaos.
I am not an expert on Arthurian lore by any means and there are so many variations over the years that is a very basic description but Excalibur is technically the name for two different swords (one from the stone and one from the lake). Both apply to Luke - Arthur faces King Pellinore too early and his weapon is destroyed mid-combat and has to find a new one; the second is Arthur on the brink of death with the sword tossed into the lake, caught by a hand, and the sheathe lost forever (Luke faces Vader too early and his weapon is gone, lost in a shaft held by his own severed hand).

Urge to do some research and design Clone Wars era Jedi outfits with good frontline utility... might look cool...

I was always excited when we'd get to visit Iskalon in the Star Wars comic.
