An AU, where Coltland Gentry siblings stayed with March and everything is happy from here.
Until one day, the twins broke something at school and now the principle wants to see the twinsâ guardian and demand money to fix it. And now Colt and Ryland in dire need to have someone to go there, instead of March, because he absolutely cannot learn about it. Otherwise, he wonât allow them to participate in case solving and that is not what they want.
They dropped the idea to convince Healy almost immediately, because he will rat them out for ÂŤtheir own goodÂť. So they were left with only one option â Court. Heâs tall enough, has almost the same face as March and he will help them. ProbablyâŚ
So Court found himself in particularly weird evening when the twins are doing everything for him, snatching drinks and snacks, although usually he has to ask at least three times if he needs something. Theyâre so attentive and on their best behavior that Court squints and carefully asks if they have killed someone. He prepares for the worst so when he learns the truth heâs relieved that itâs nothing. And then swooped into their plan to present Court instead of March.
Holly gives them fake mustache and helps with the hair. Colt snatches Marchâs shirt and pants, along with his cigarettes. And Ryland shows Court how to act like March (shows him how to trip over everything). They all do their best, while Court feels like a fool, yet still he tries.
On the day X they arrive at the principle office and everything goes relatively fine. Theyâre not exposed, Court does a great work to pretend to be March and all.
And then the door opens, revealing Holland and Jackson, who got a phone call earlier but were late for the meeting.

and YES ken is joining the AU bc I said so. also bc I think itâs really funny if he is just himself and neon colors follow him everywhere he goes- consider him like this AUâs version of Dippy Fresh except he just Ken. no one knows why heâs here, heâs has been written about in one of the journals, but everyone just kinda accepts him without any question about his past đ
and rocky is still from erid I would think- rocky gets put into more of an E.T. situation here, but he ends up getting emotionally attached to this pre-teen nerd and doesnât want to leave just yet (not that rocky knows how he got here in the first place) now if only they knew how to communicateâŚ

I cannot get these guys out of my head ever apparently sooo: boardwalk/beach vacation for the coltland gentry siblings! ft. uncle holland march (+ Healyâ˘ď¸) and cousin holly :D
what would these guys do on a boardwalk vacation you may ask?? here are my ideas! iâm kind of assuming that the twins are like 16 or 17 and Court is 23 or 24 (and NOT a sierraâŚbut just know claire will still end up under his care at some point in the future). Iâm still debating on if Holly should be younger or older than the twins- then March is in his 40s and Healy in his 50s đ
First up is Ryland; each person will have their own post đââď¸
Ryland:
- He likes going to the beach the most- heâs one of those people who will get to the beach at the crack of dawn because he wants the best spot on the beach no matter how much sleep he loses dammit!
- âŚHe ends up falling asleep by the time the rest of the family gets thereâŚand he may or may not have the worst sunburn known to man. and that Percy Jackson (you cannot tell me Ryland wouldnât have been a MAJOR fan) book he was reading may cause him to have a suspiciously book-shaped tan-line on his chestâŚColt gains some new blackmail that day. Holland considered it too, but decided to be an uncle and help set up the umbrella over Ryland (he asked for those photos an hour later)
- The arcade isnât Rylandâs favorite place in the world- the lights are incredibly bright and flashy and the noise gets on his nerves- but his twin LOVES it, so he will usually play a few games before having to either leave or at least take a break outside. He does get stubborn when it comes to winning prizes- Colt likes to play games for the tickets, so the two of them will team up to collect an egregious amount of tickets and bring home the most obnoxiously large or loud prize there is.
- He tells everyone that skee ball is his favorite arcade game, but if Colt is the one who asks him, he will truthfully say Guitar Hero. I feel like his party trick is that he is insane at Guitar HeroâŚmy guy just gets locked tf in
- Never challenge him to a game of air hockey. He WILL win. Court seriously wondered if there were air hockey tournaments so he could sign Ryland up for one. Colt went home with a bruised finger. (ry: âItâs not *my* fault he was resting his hand on the ledge!â colt: âYou were aiming for that finger! I know you wouldâve went for my hand and stuff, dipshit-â holland: âColt, what have we talked about, bud? Donât say âand stuffâ. Just say, âyou wouldâve went for my hand, dipshit.â And uhâŚdonât call your brother a dipshit, I guess.â)
- He absolutely refuses to do any roller coasters- heâs gets motion sickness *very* quickly (Colt can attest to that- he has had multiple shirts ruined due to Rylandâs queasiness). Holland tries to get him on the ferris wheel one time, and Ryland agreed to it only because Holland said he would get him as much ice cream as he wants for the rest of the trip (and oh boy does he take advantage of that); this ends in Ryland trapping Court in a death grip and him having to dart to the nearest trash can after the ride. Holland doesnât try to make him go on anything else...and Court needs a new shirt.
- Oddly enough, he likes go-kart racing! I liked to think heâs CRAZY competitive, so while the driving is the less exciting part for him, he really just wants to say he beat Colt in a race. I mean- he has been learning the physics behind go-karts for this very moment.
- Ryland and Colt both have a sweet tooth, so they will be devouring what they can on the boardwalk. Iâm talking fudge, water ice, salt water taffy- *all of it*. He prefers fruity and sour candy, and when he does get his unlimited ice cream (thank you, Uncle Holland), he almost always picked strawberry with rainbow sprinkles in a dish (thatâs right. a dish. because those waffle cones taste like nothing and they are messy for no reason, Coltonâ)
- He is AWFUL at the carnival games- he blames it on his glasses, but itâs really just him. Donât tell him that, though, or he will blow all his money on trying to win. (Court and Healy both make a note to never let Ryland into a casino.) (Holland is already banned from oneâŚhe doesnât like to talk about it.)

and then i decided to draw out some silly things for it! I had a lot of fun doing this- i might make more sketches- but let me know if this is something u guys want to see more of (and if u have any ideas uâd want me to sketch outđ¤Š)!

my first thought was obviously dipper as ryland and colt as mabel, and then thought of holland march from the nice guys as stan. stay with me here. holly could be the twinsâ older cousin, tired of their bsđ
iâm not sure who should be stanford- my first thought was courtland/six from the gray man, since he goes off the grid in the movie, but if anyone has any other suggestions let me know!!
now: gideon. u know who should be lil gideon? tom ryder from the fall guy. DO U SEE MY VISION?? except instead of mabel/colt, he goes after ryland. colt HAAATES this, but also maybe they used to be really good friends?? potentially before ryder goes kinda evil on ryland. this concept is very funny to me so i hope u understand. and gail would be ryderâs guardian, naturally. maybe she is the one who pushes ryder into things- idk!
i thought about potentially making ryland and colt triplets with ken from barbie- just because i think ken fits mabelâs vibe perfectly, so maybe that could be messed around with??
anyways! those are my thoughts- i might draw it out, but weâll see! i know this probably isnât a new concept but itâs silly to think about and rotate the ideas like reheated noodles from a microwave in my brainđââď¸đââď¸
also i MAY be working on a short animatic for project hail mary to i know the end by phoebe bridgersâŚ.just sayingâŚ.itâs already halfway doneđ¤
charles definitely has collected silly bands in his bag of tricks for YEARS, so every now and then when he tries to get something he needs, he just grabs a fistful of silly bands instead
bonus points if he tries to count all of them by putting them on edwinâs arms and edwin just sits there, very disgruntled, looking like a coat rack
