In the light of the day, an explosion echoed through a large forest, birds flying out from the impact. But, somehow, the forest was undamaged. Green smoke rose from the floor to the sky, disappearing into the atmosphere. There was a faint green glow coming from the direction of the explosion. On the forest floor, a girl laid asleep on the ground, sprawled out like she had fallen from the sky. What looked like a broken talisman lay dormant a few meters in front of her, the shards glowing that green glow. The glow was beginning to fade. Suddenly, the girl began to stir, grunting softly as she moved her hands and curled her fingers into the dirt. She pushed down against the dirt in an attempt to bring herself into an upright position. She raised her hand, placing it against her pale cheek and rubbing it slowly.
"Nn..." She moaned, opening one eye as she raised her head to look around.
"Huh?" She opened her other eye, lowering her hand and looking around wildly.
"Wh... Where am I?" She asked aloud. The girl turned her head to look at the broken talisman in front of her. She gasped softly.
"Oh, no. No, no, no, no!" She crawled quickly over to the talisman, picking up the pieces and holding them close to her face.
"No, no, please! You gotta get me back home!" Unfortunately, there was no response. The glow continued to fade away. The girl clenched her teeth together, as if she were upset. There were tears in her green eyes.
"Please! I, I can't be here! I have to get home, my friends need me!" Again, there was no response. The girl had a panicked expression in her face. She looked around once again, taking a couple short, loud breaths.
"Ok. Ok, don't panic. This is fine. You're just... You're lost and alone in a strange world that'll probably be your home for the rest of your life." She chuckled halfheartedly. Slowly, the girl stood. She lowered her hands, stuffing the pieces of the talisman into her jeans pocket. She looked at her hands.
"Ok. First things first, uh... Oh, what would Vi do?!" She asked herself, putting a hand on the side of her head and closing her eyes. The girl opened her eyes, hearing a loud shriek from above her. She slowly and nervously raised her head up to the sky, watching as a large, bird-like creature began to speed towards her from the sky.
The girl's eyes widened, before she started screaming. She turned, pulled up the hood of her jacket, and started running in whatever direction her legs would take her. There was a loud shriek from behind as the creature followed her, weaving through the trees easily. The girl turned her head towards the creature, watching as it slowly gained on her.
"Why are you trying to eat me?!" She yelled at the creature, but only got a shriek in response. The girl squeaked, ducking to the left and into a series of bushes beside her. The creature zoomed past, before stopping. It cocked its head to the side, glancing around. It then shrieked again and flew back up toward the sky. The girl slowly poked her head out, glancing from side to side as to make sure nothing else had followed her. When she knew the coast was clear, she stepped out of the bushes, breathing a sigh of relief and wiping a bit of sweat from her forehead.
"Phew. That was a close one." She raised a foot, getting ready to move forward, when all of a sudden a rope tied itself around her ankle. She yelped as the rope pulled her up into the air, and was now left dangling by her leg high off the ground. The girl blinked slowly.
"Huh. Did not see that one coming." She furrowed her eyebrows in slight annoyance, before looking down - or up, in this case - at the rope around her leg. She hummed, then blinked again, a smile forming on her face. She then bent herself toward the rope, grunting as she tried - unsuccessfully - to reach the rope and untie herself. She sighed loudly.
"Great. Now I'm stuck here." She closed her eyes, shrugging. "Well, at least it can't get any worse."
"Who goes there?! And what are you doing here?!"
