I’ve been watching The Usual Suspects going on and on about a certain reporter and I’m REALLY curious why they don’t do that in a more concerning case of direct attack on TPTB and SPN brand itself, as will follow in this post re: Vinnie aka NotTheRibbons.
Now, as I want to make this rebloggable, I’m going to shove the garbage behind a cut, so people don’t FLOOD their timelines with BS, but have a nice compendium: screenshots, source links, including to surrounding posts in case of deletion and for context, and more. Because if this is ALL SO DEEPLY CONCERNING TO THEM, I might propose that if someone’s take on a fictional character is worth demand for their press pass, revocation of that for those who attack TPTB’s crew, marketing, other fandom news sites, and THE SPN BRAND ITSELF may be worth considering (I’ll also cover the core site after her direct matters in a later reblog attachment). In fact, there’s a reporter by the name of Vinnie journalist of MovieTVTechGeeks (of articles like her red carpet coverage of Paley), or NotTheRibbons on twitter, that frequently makes directly damaging commentary to and about the SPN crew, marketing, and brand and has gone so far as to make threats of disclosure about crew members. SEE BELOW.
As tumblr has a 10 image per post limit, some posts have been connected into a single image, but with evident dividers, and links to the individual source tweets below them. Please note: these are just random ones I’m pulling from an OCEAN of this. You’re free to use Advanced Twitter Search and run her name with mentions of these TPTB accounts, or these keywords, and see just how often she does it. Please read the ENTIRE document, even if confused over her state of press access and why, as the site she volunteers with and the behaviors encouraged will also be addressed, including the press access of the website in question (MTTG, discussed most directly at the bottom) and other related issues it has had in fandom. (they currently most actively employ Lynn of Fangasm for related access and information, though let it be known I am not dragging Lynn, as much as discuss at the end my concern over her potential unknowing of issues she is fostering.)
In this, there’s almost nobody she doesn’t drag or implicate: showrunners, authors, actors, Creation, related charities, business practices, marketing and PR, I mean I could keep going, but you should probably just review the content.
Okay let’s be real, we already knew most of this, but maybe they need to be reminded that while they are *SO* upset about the perceived DISRESPECK towards a fictional character, they frequently lord articles posted by a person who drags *REAL PEOPLE*: Showrunners, actors, and fandom members. You know. REAL people. This may shock some people, but Sam Winchester is not a Real People. (and Vinnie’s target didn’t attack the idea of Sam; she discussed flaws, as authors put in them on purpose to make interesting content but hey, even if you took it as an attack,) HE ISN’T REAL, GUYS.
You know who’s a real people?
OUR SHOWRUNNER.
And this is TAME to start.

Pretty sure those are Actual People too, and the people she’s currently aspiring to talk to as a reporter. (With layer-over drag of Wayward included here!)

Frequent, public, shameless targeting - even tagged - of the brand, network, PR, and crew involving shaming their business practices, their advertising, and actors by proxy.

And of course, there’s her hot take on Wayward, which she not only OPENLY DRAGGED, but as tracked by these lovely fandom eagle-eyes, prepared to drag in advance with “research” she was writing her negative article about before it ever aired. (Link: Thread with receipts here, click.) Man, that unbiased reporting integrity though. I mean, that clearly matters to them all a lot right now, with all of their yelling at PR, right? Oh, and here, just have some more of her public attitude.

Surrounding tweets are more difficult to grab, because it was in direct reply to this thread and nobody replied to her to make a "hole" in case of deletion.
But I mean, if you just run a search on her username and “ungrateful” or “garbage” you get all of this wonderful commentary that I’m not even gonna spend time linking because if it can encourage her to delete this kind of trash from the internet, so be it. It would take more space than tumblr has to context these all in a post, but here, have the advanced twitter search to pull up the context of each: (x)(x)
I mean, that’s not all. Here’s more re: Dabb, Berens, and pretty much the entire writing team.
And of course, her charming opinion of crew beyond even this,
I mean, I guess she thinks it’s okay because she says his initials instead of his name, very clever, we can’t figure this out? Nope, if you search both “MC” (x) and “Misha” (x) her mentions are filled with nothing but vitriol for him just like the Wayward crew and authors.
Or dragging RA, which if you do a quick search seems benign on her mentions (x), until you go deep-wank diving and realize the conversations she’s actually having with people.
A multi-hit classic of her implying shady practice from even Jared, of YANA, RA, Creation . . . pretty much All The Things! Hell, just crawl her mentions for how she talks about Creation. (x)
Like I do not have enough time or mental fortitude to crawl through this much active filth about our cast and crew, our hard working writers, and our show to link every single one of these in context. Most are 100% self explanatory, but if you are in any what concerned about the context of these whatsoever, you are free to engage the Twitter Advanced Search feature and just... run the same thing, and click to the related tweets. It is a legitimate dumpster fire of hatred spilling from her on the regular.
And that’s just her untagged crap. From dragging concepts and actors in mentions, to calling SPN a “dumpster fire of a show” straight into CW mentions. Why are you even here trying to report on it if you hate it, and everybody who works on it, so damn much? Are you literally looking for press access just so you can further and further drag the show’s image? Is this what you want to do with your life?
Anyone remember when Adam called her out over her vague threatening him and his job? I believe she started calling him a “fuckboy.” (link x)
Oh, and here’s that vague threat he was talking about (x) Oh, and another one. (x) Just casual threats to “out” something about the crew, nothing to see here.
Like I get it, Adam doesn’t appeal to everyone, but I’m pretty sure that’s not appropriate public press behavior for someone trying to have private access.
All of this, disgusting as it is, also says nothing about her abusive behavior with the fandom at large, or the site she works for (MTTG), which will do whatever it can at the expense of SPN, such as re-igniting the “StandWithJ2″ rape joke arguing for clicks after it had already passed, or frequently publishing wildly degenerating articles about the show and its content. There’s a fine line between critique and intentional attack, and while she’s mastered the concern troll voice and how to compliment between flinging acid, with titles like "Supernatural Good Intentions aka paving that road to hell," accusations of "PaleyFest was a mess," (which, while she swears not having any press access, she even made it to the press area of the Paley Red Carpet) (by all means, check out her articles [x]) and curiously being the one outlier in ragingly negative review about Wayward Sisters, which as posted above, she was writing the drag for even before it aired. And those articles are hers. Lynn, of Fangasm, has recently joined them as a contributor but in the very least posts less wildly rabid gouges at the crew. Her criticisms air in the natural zone of critique, rather than attack.
I often wonder if Lynn is aware of what the owner of the site did to a former contributor of the site the moment she announced attempting greater sensitivity and understanding to shippers and fans of Misha Collins, including spoofing multiple comments from the same IP address. Along with his own comment (Curt), the names PattiP, JJSPN, LorraineSPNHunter, SPN4eva, JensenJaredForever, J2Luv, Suzanne, Lizbeth, Shana, Artemisa, Jon James, and Sara that were used to inflate an attack against their own contributor all originated from IP 24.118.141.174, and I'm not ashamed to announce that, and anyone looking to legitimately investigate that can probably do so. There was also a period of fandom study of his website traffic posted by several known names in fandom that I’d have to dig up again, mostly tracing his traffic flow to Russian bots and traffic cycling to inflate its presence. I’m sure if TPTB caught wind, they have the power to investigate that all on their own without me having to ELI-5 it with pictures for the class.
MTTG has no intention of inclusion, or fair review, even if a few of its contributors (like Lynn, or former contributor Carol, etc) may be unknowing to its nature. Vinnie, however, fits the owner's agenda perfectly.
Of the many sites that should be under scrutiny for the behavior of reporters, I’m pretty sure it’s not an opinionated journalist that on occasion speaks strong, but not inherently negative words about a fictional character. I might suggest the woman who threatens crew members with disclosures, curses the entire writing room while wishing them gone, drags various cast members, slings toxins at PR about their advertising and generally berates the entire content of the show with the most visceral style of commentary, however, is worth taking a double-check at. I’d love to know why this woman and her sponsoring site have any shot at access to the crew at *all* much less anything like SDCC etc access. Gods I hope not.
(Update: Vinnie has been concern semantic-ing over denying her press access. Vinnie was seen as recently as Paley press area of the Red Carpet. Currently, WinBros mod Becky is also arguing about Vinnie’s - TLDR: right to act how she wants. Yes, people can act however they want. That does not mean people who act like crazed lunatics that hate the very essence of the show should be let even remotely close to the people who make it. While I doubt CW would bar access from WinBros [Despite there being other great aspiring reporting sites that could fill the void that aren’t stuck in 2005], MTTG remains a distinct problem even on its primary account and postings for the show and as a general PR-mess. WinBros, while arguably questionably run, at least doesn’t run overt drags or inflate PR disasters for the sake of its own clicks like MTTG does.)
(And all of this is of course a wonderful distraction they’re making from the two-faced, self-blind hypocrisy of attacking another reporter over an opinion of a fictional character they don’t like, versus persistent, aggressive attacks against every part of TPTB [but J2, though one at the cost of Jared.] Motivation? I don’t know. This could range anywhere from Vinnie doing ship-war-wankiness as a motivation because their target dares to enjoy Destiel, to something considerably more malign like several other hub/reporting sites trying to gang up and destroy the competition. [Let’s not forget how the same crowd extorted TPTB-contact to perform *both* versus the Geekiary in the past, then trashed and railed on them until they quit reporting SPN entirely.] That part’s all speculatory. What we do know is there’s wildly inappropriate behavior from someone strolling the red carpet with the press and boys, and misguided targeting of a major fandom contributor from the same crowd.)
