ok so i tried to use exact parallels w the original frame by frame and then from there added in a sort of character narrative. i focussed on the idea of The Park and Redemption/revenge and, of course, Ascension. I also stuck w ingridiana spider louisa and river for this #timecrunch

Several months after the events at Les Arbres, River Cartwright is summoned to Regent's Park at the request of Diana Taverner and handed an op: find out who is killing the Dogs involved in a botched undercover sting at a nightclub and put them down. Worse than being made to clean up her mess (as usual), she informs him that his partner on the op is James Webb, who, to River's knowledge, has been dead for a year. Now forced to work together while River's life feels like it's coming apart, the proximity starts to unearth things they have both worked so hard to bury.

Or: River and James get assigned to an op, and they both learn the hard way just how much people change. And how sometimes certain things never do.

It's "the best man won", he's did as told, he's Diana's good little soldier, until it dawns on him that this is real and River fucking hates him. there's no one else to go the pub with, or call up late at night. you were friends, you are no longer friends. and it's this curse that drags both of them down, maybe it's pride, maybe it's the fact that can ever say I miss you, I love you. and then it's too late.

Taking the working environment of the park into consideration... Much like how river was looked down upon by his former peers in s1, you have to wonder if spider faces that same judgment. What if it’s an open secret that spider is responsible for river’s downfall. Rumors swirl in the smoking area, drift through the stairwells, and circulate in the parking lot. Ultimately, when spider tries to join the vetting department’s after-work drinks, only to find himself completely frozen out. (maybe because he’s diana’s mole, or maybe just because he’s a total prick)

And once you figure out that fixing your social life is going to be a lot harder than you thought, do you find yourself clinging to the past like a lifeline?
