"From this day to the ending of the world, But we in it shall be remember'd; We few, we happy few, we band of brothers; For he to-day that sheds his blood with me Shall be my brother."
So average Joe American shouldn't own a handgun but you need armed security for your workplace after you piss off a few thousand of these handgun permit holders. Fucking Journal News should have know they were going to get threats for making peoples private information very, very public. I don't give a damn about the Freedom of Information Act or how the 1st Amendment pertains to this kind of journalism, but you DO NOT make that kind of info public knowledge in this manner.
Congratulations Washington D.C. for having some very mind-blowingly stupid gun and ammunition laws but failing to enforce those laws when it's one of their own liberal media cohorts. David Gregory knowingly violated D.C.'s ban on high capacity ammo mags ON NATIONAL TELEVISION but all the D.C. police do is open an investigation. Any other person caught with something like that and it's off to jail, no if's, ands, or buts about it. This is why I do NOT trust the government to do what they think is effective gun control.
Congratulations Iowa, for perpetuating the cycle of misogyny. An all male panel of 7 judges rule unanimously that this dentist can fire an assistant cause he can't control his sexual urges. And not to be left out, religion had to get in on the action. The dentist and his wife consulted a pastor at their church who advised them to fire the assistant in order to preserve their marriage. If I may, I'm gonna borrow a quote from a friend of mine; See, America, this is why we can't have nice things.
I think that's my truck under all that snow.
unless you’re still rockin’ a flip-phone, hanging up on someone on a cell phone is just not satisfying
Thank goodness I’m not the only one that feels this way…
Pssh. I go old school. Slamming the receiver down on an old rotatory dial phone is the best evar.
Why in the hell does the Federal government need to allow law enforcement agencies free reign over everything. What I post to Facebook or the emails I send to friends should be nobodies damn business but mine and the person I correspond with. If the FBI or anyone of the 22 agencies that are, so far, asking for this bill to be passed, they should still have to obtain a warrant to search a person or their personal data. I hate to say say it, but with each passing day, we as a nation, are giving up more and more personal freedom for an illusion of safety. "Oh my God, look out for domestic terrorists, etc. etc. etc." It's the same old tired bullshit that gets people all crazy about the next attack that they're willing to surrender more of their freedoms to feel "safe".
I see these TV shows about doomsday preppers and now I'm starting to think that they've got the right idea. The government preaches peace and safety and all kinds of nonsense about protecting the citizens here, but it seems this is all smoke and mirrors. I hate to say it, but I'm thinking there may very well be a new revolution with this century. Sooner or later the people are not going to stand for the nonsense the politicians are spewing and they are going to something about it besides voting for a new batch of idiots to replace the old ones.
Saw this, sounds good!
“Warren Buffett, in a recent interview with CNBC, offers one of the best quotes about the debt ceiling:
“I could end the deficit in 5 minutes,” he told CNBC. “You just pass a law that says that anytime there is a deficit of more than 3% of GDP, all sitting members of...
Warren Buffett is a genius. This needs to fucking happen. Too bad it never will. Even with immense public pressure, congress would never vote on something that would cut their pay or special benefits.
Elected officials forget that they represent the people, not themselves. They are totally out of touch with the majority of the people they represent. Government spending is out of control and few congresspeople are willing to cooperate on a fix to the situation. But for god's sakes, something needs to be done. I wouldn't be totally surprised if there is another major revolution in my lifetime.
"I cherish the memory of a question my grandson asked me the other day, when he said: 'Grandpa, were you a hero in the war?' Grandpa said, 'No. But I served in a company of heroes.'"
