A Look at the Graduation Messages (Filipino Words Ahead!)
While arranging my dorm stuff for no random reason (aside from the fact that I'm taking a break from making, or cramming, my assignments), I stumbled upon a thin pink notebook. It contained messages for me for my graduation, where most came from the batch that followed mine (read: ParSci's Batch 22).
So I decided to make random commentaries, beginning from those who had become fellow Lasallians. Let me see what I have done, what I still have to do, what I am doing right now, and what I cannot do anymore. And yep. Inappropriate words ahead.
"GRABE. ang galing mo promise, Vaugirard scholarhip [sic]. PROMISE. PANIS sayo lahat ng estudyante sa La Salle."
Considering that Carielle is now a St. La Salle Scholar in the DLSU, it must be realized that being a scholar is not really that much of a buzz, unless your classmates frequently ask for your help in doing some difficult problem. The equality: scholar = intellight (at least that's what the stereotypes say).
"Basta, kahit saan ka man nandun, BEST IN AP [Araling Panlipunan/Social Studies -- rcp] ka parin (at si REINI)."
No, really. I'm a math major now. Does it still mean that I still have my proficiency in History? Probably. I'm still able to throw random criticisms at my History prof (and failed me inevitably). Yep. I think so. I'm going to explain the Reini part at a later time.
PS: Please don't criticize me in my History failure. I've had enough bad omens in my life.
"Alam mo ba kahit na minsan super kulit mo, super landi mo, super ingay mo, super papansin mo, mamimiss ka pa rin namin KAHIT PAPANO."
Yep. I understand. I am always gate crashing into your room, often supporting your class throughout. I probably made that room my hideout, basically. I kept communicating with the locals there whenever I'm there (which was almost every recess and luch time), doing some random things: chatting, eating, even watching stuff.
"...Also, grabe ka ha, lakas maka skip [sic] ng classes. Nagugulat na lang kami na nasa classroom ka na namin."
Well apparently, cutting classes has been my nature since second year, when I go sit in an AP class whenever my class has its teacher for the period absent. Nah, I really didn't care a lot, especially when it's Journalism.I find it insanely boring that I ofter go to random classrooms, teaching. YES. TEACHING.
"Punta ka sa graduation namin, ha!"
I actually made this promise to Azri and the entire III-A class before Hillary wrote this. And yep, I kept my promise, though insanely late. When I arrived, I heard Carielle speaking for her Valedictory Address. So yes, technically I did fulfill my promise, though less than expected (I still have classes that time).
"Wala ng [sic] pupunta sa room namin every recess and lunch."
"Summa cum Laude ka dapat, ha."
Sorry. I already failed a course in my first year. And according to the DLSU Student Handbook, "Students with a failing grade for any academin or non-academic course...are disqualified from graduating with honors" (Section 6.4.4)
"It seems to me that you'll be leaving a L*****-sized hole in the humble confines of this lowly school."
"You have so much potential. Utilize it."
"Meet girls, fall in love, fuck a lot."
- Amrie
This quote must be included in the first in a series of posts (because I realized that this will be insanely long if I compiled it in one post) because of its exquisite message and use of words. I've expected this sort of message from a lady such as Amrie whom I see as liberal.
I still don't understand why you hatin' on that Bardon kid (which I had not included in the quotations). Seriously. Because I find it necessary to go back to school for some reason (Field Study sessions, Form 137 request, etc.), but yeah, I really want to go back to ParSci often, looking on improvements and stuff.
And that third quote, damn! I never really saw that coming. Looking at what I have right now in college, I still have to do it even more. But I feel contented with my girlfriend for that matter, wishing that this will last forever.
Yep, I think that's all for the first part. There'll be more coming since I haven't exhausted all messages.
