This movie gave me many gifts and it turned out to be a surprisingly great film. It played on pathos just enough and all of the characters were very believable. Add this to Bernie as my top JB films.

Fun reminder that Antony Dimmond and Hannibal are implied to have had sex in Hannibalās office. They both leave that room disheveled and Hannibalās missing his tie.
Considering how he genuinely looked interested in a threesome with Antony and Bedelia this does not surprise me.
I will forever hold the belief that Maverick is naturally great with kids and Ice is absolutely not but they always love him anyway. Mav is great at communicating with kids and he's the fun loving kinda guy who could play with them for ages and not get bored, Ice on the other hand has major daddy issues and is terrified of accidentally being too harsh on them so he kind of freaks out and borderline shuts down when he's around them but all that does is make kids think he's the coolest most stoic guy ever and they end up following him around like little ducklings trying to copy everything he does.

Icemav should have happened and iām pissed it didnāt
look at this man. RIGHT AFTER Ice literally BIT air at him. I donāt think iāve ever seen a man more homosexual than Pete Mitchell.
I think if Icemav would have actually happened it would have gone one of two ways
One being, they got together (secretly, DADT is still around for quite awhile post-TG86) shortly after they graduated Top Gun, and they lived their happy ever after and Pete stayed with Tom until cancer eventually took Tom.
Two being, Pete didnāt realize that Iceman was gay too and totally into him for like.. a long time. Several decades. So Tom marries Sarah to try to get over Mav, and right before Tom dies, Pete says something, but by then itās already too late.
VAL KILMER HIMSELF has said that Top Gun was super gay. He was asked to rate the gayness of TG86 out of ten and this man said eleven.
I will forever mourn the loss of what could have been between these two old ass men
also i'm convinced that the lady gaga song ON THE SOUNDTRACK is actually about hangster and the images chosen for it's music video were included as "het-bait" for the people who ship mav x penny. i mean.
THE LYRICS ARE JUST SO HANGSTER TO ME -- AND THERE IS NO MENTION OF THE IMPLIED GENDER OF THE SINGER OR THE PERSON THE SONG IS A MESSAGE FOR !!!! i think that was a deliberate choice! it is yet more proof to me that hangster is canon and the queerness of their feelings for each other is as blatant as the showrunners thought they could get away with in the time/cultural attitude the movie was released
in fact i would argue the song could even be interpreted as a plea from mav to rooster about rebuilding their implicit father-son relationship before i would think it was actually on the soundtrack for penny. like. no shade to penny but she's only in the movie BC THOSE ASSHOLES KILLED OFF ICEMAN

Okay I know this is a long shot but there was this one hangster fic (icemav was also part of it for like 1-2 chapters) called Ride in this Life with You or something (I feel like there were parenthesis in the title) and I CANNOT find it. It was truly like one of those fics that change your life and it was soooo good ahhhh.
ANYWAYS, any chance anyone has it? Carole dies at the beginning when Bradleyās like 4 I think, Sarahās last name is Kilmer and Ice lowk cheats on Mav by proposing to her, and I think thatās like all I mostly remember ugh. I donāt have a specific word count but I think it was like somewhere around 30,000-150,000 words haha

I checked both of those and theyāre sadly both not it š the first one is icemav centric (and I really enjoyed it despite it not being the one) and the second one starts mid- Bradley coming back to top gun. In the one Iām looking for, it opens with Bradleyās POV of like his dad and then his mom dying and then growing up depending on Mav and Ice.
I honestly feel like it was deleted š„² so Iām hoping someone who sees this downloaded it bc I loved that fic sm ughhhh
