The costume grind still fucking sucks though

I think I've changed my mind about Balan Wonderworld

I'm actually really enjoying the Act 3 worlds and their stupid hyper-specific costume requirements for the statues

I think it's funny that Chapter 5 has become my new FF7 Rebirth.

When I bought Rebirth, I kept telling myself "oh, I'll just finish these games and then I'll play it as a treat" but then every time i was meant to start it I was like "hmm maybe there's other games I need to beat".

Now I'm doing that with Chapter 5 and the current game I'm loading up to stall starting Chapter 5 is FF7 Rebirth

#I've decided I'm just probably gonna ignore most of the side content and just do the story missions #I am however really excited to free up 100+GB of space on my hard drive after I'm done

I think I'm gonna continue to use Chapter 5 as a dangling carrot for me to finally finish some other games

#also I'm in the weird zone of wanting to play chapter 5 but also it feels like an obligation?#and so now I feel like I SHOULD be playing it but that turns me off from playing it #so I'm kinda wanting to wait until it shifts purely to wanting to play it

I also think the world's are just sorta not memorable. I played through the first 2 acts of each world and beaten the final boss, but the only world I actually remember is World 2 because it's such a pretty environment. Everything else just kinda looked generic

Balan Wonderworld wouldn't even be that bad if it didn't make you grind for costumes

I'm surprisingly really enjoying the Act 3's of every world.

I can't tell if I love or hate the way it makes you bring hyper specific costumes to solve a single puzzle in them though. I think the completionist in me hates it, but as a casual player who can look at it and just say "oh fuck that" I kinda think it's a neat concept as a challenge.

I almost want to compare it to the sonic games (maybe Yuji Naka is to blame for this) in where the first playthrough kinda sucks ass, but on revisits of the game it actually feels sorta fun. But also that's the games fault for starting the player start with uninteresting costumes.
