This has been such a weird day.
* ✧ ・゚— JUST GIVE THIS PLACE A CHANCE PEOPLE CAN SURPRISE YOU SOMETIMES
( heavily mixed canon with an emphasis on rebirth comics / loved by lune )
babysittin :
Steve laughed and looked down at the girl next to her, taking in her pink cheeks and soft smile. this could be a problem. He nudged Mary’s shoulder. “I didn’t take you as a kidnapper, Mary.”
He let his head fall against the bed behind them and closed his eyes. “When I was 8, i bought a lizard from the pet store and kept him in my room for two months before my dad found out and made me get rid of him.”
* ✧ ・゚— “Not kidnapping! A rescue mission.” ( a beat ). “And it was Freddy’s idea.”
Loose locks fall into her eyes as she shakes her head, lips momentarily pressing into a pout before she can’t keep the expression any longer and it shifts back to her smile. It’s a comfortable feeling, just the two of them and the warm buzz settling in from the alcohol ( not normally one to drink, but she figures one night won’t hurt. as long as she can make it home next door and into her room without victor and rosa noticing, she’ll be fine ) as the swap childhood stories. She’s happy, here, with him.
“A lizard? That’s cute! I didn’t know you were a reptile guy. What’d you name him?”
babysittin :
@rantwice kinda asked for a starter nd also we talked about this
“Hey now, slow down!” He reached over and softly pushed the bottom of the bottle down, the mouth of the bottle coming out of her mouth. “If you drink that fast I’ll have to explain to my mom why you passed out on my floor when you live next door.”
They’d been passing the bottle between the two of them for going on a half hour, and a warm haze had settled in Steve’s brain and between him and Mary. “Let’s play a game,” he says softly. “Tell me a secret.”
* ✧ ・゚— Soft giggle pushes past her lips as the bottle is forced away, head lolling to the side as she looks up at Steve. Cheeks are flushed pink— whether it be from the alcohol taking effect, warm in the pit of her stomach, or the company ( the new boy next door, she thinks her siblings will never let her hear the end of this if the found out ), she isn’t sure.
Brow raises at the suggestion of a game, lips pursing in an over-exaggerated expression as she muses over her stories. After a moment she meets his eyes once more, smile dancing across features.
“My bunny— the one in the living room— Freddy and I stole him from the pet store when I was ten. They were talking about how he was going to be sold for animal testing, and I got upset, so Freddy— he came up with a plan. He pulled the fire alarm, and during the chaos I grabbed the bunny and we both ran away.” ( another giggle. ) “Your turn. Tell me a secret?”
Ask her what she craved, and she’d get a little frantic about things like books, the woods, music. Plants and the seasons. Also freedom.

nothing is set up and I have no icons but like this for an ask from Mary

I’m learning how to be angry and sad and lonely and joyful and excited and afraid and happy. I am learning how to taste everything.

I feel more and more every day, as my imagination strengthens, that I do not live in this world alone but in a thousand worlds.
