Explaining about why fake offshoots of Christianity aren’t actually Christianity by explaining what’s written in the Bible only to get told by unbelievers, “Yeah but that’s what you believe and your intepretation” like you do realize that relativism and the idea of everyone having a personal truth isn’t a thing in Christianity, right? We wouldn’t argue so ardently about false teachers if it was. It’s vital for believers to understand the one Truth of the Bible. Why else has it been scrutinized and studied for millennia?

Relativism fundamentally disagrees with Christianity, and indeed common sense. Me telling my doctor, “I don’t like that so I don’t believe it; therefore, it is not true,” when I was given a cancer diagnosis didn’t make the cancer disappear.

The Bible claims absolute truth - it claims that knowing Jesus is the only way to know God and that all other religions are false. Either you believe the God of the Bible, meaning you believe all other beliefs are false, OR you say all beliefs are true, which by necessity excludes Christianity since the Bible excludes itself from that belief. If you try to say both are true, you don’t know what you’re talking about.

that absolutely perplexes me like i really dont think a lot of secular people realize that to a person of faith, our religion is integral to who we are??? like it’s not just a fun club you go to once a week it should be guiding your every decision in life, it’s present with you always… such rigidly enforced secularism on individual religious people literally strips them of a core part of who they are. you cant just turn it off and on like it’s not just a fun hobby or something

When we say “God is good” we don’t mean that God is kind of like other things that are good. We mean that God is the standard that we measure all good things by. Something is only “good” as far as it is like God. It’s not like there’s is a checklist of traits that God meets. God is the standard. God is good.
