Just to clarify, the official story is that he had the rifle tucked down the back of one of his pant legs and up the back of his sweatshirt under his back pack. There is tons of video of him walking around unable to bend his right knee. He takes the shot and then climbs down off the rooftop with the rifle wrapped in a towel. There is video of this where you can plainly see the rifle wrapped in the towel. Here's the video. There was no disassembly and reassembly.
