At what age or what level of financial stability (loans paid off, x dollars in savings) would you like to retire? How do you think you would spend your retirement?
"Whenever I get bored of my job, I suppose. I'm a Lestrange, money is so far from my mind, plus unlike my brother I actually invest and have bonds, etcetera. The only real reason I have a job is to push off boredom."
How much trouble did you get into during your school days? Explain.
“Mostly for my tongue. I was very sarcastic and often got detention for insulting my professors or other students. I didn’t do any pranks or… really anything to pull attention to myself, that was up to Josiah.”
03/09/79 | Devising Bloodshed | Bellatrix + Rabastan.
Bellatrix watched Rabastan carefully, silently hoping he could not control it so she would have a shot at performing the dark magic again. “I was taught to use it,” Her voice was low with obvious excitement. “He said it was necessary for terror…it gets them screaming quickly, kills those that can’t run fast enough…” She trailed away, shaking her head at him eagerly. “It’s best that I do it, if you’re not sure if you know how to control it. If you lose control, it could easily turn on us. You can hit them as soon as they come out. Be creative, little brother,” She grinned behind her mask, before closing her eyes for a second. With a sharp swish of her wand, Bellatrix cast the powerful curse, flicking her wand towards the pub again to instruct the wild fire where it was going.
No words were needed. She didn’t need to speak out loud to control the curse, though she did let out a gleeful laugh. The power flowing through her veins was enough to force her back a few steps with legs shaking, but she kept herself focused on the task at hand. Drawing the muggles out of the pub - it didn’t take long at all for them to start running here, there and everywhere. As they started to run, Bellatrix didn’t move her wand, trusting Rabastan would take care of them efficiently. She could assure herself that he wouldn’t let a single one run free. There would be a massacre here tonight, and their reign of terror would only continue as soon as every last muggle was dead here.
Rabastan nodded his head. He’d never admit it, but he was a bit jealous at the attention the Dark Lord gave Bellatrix. Of course he’d never express that jealousy. It was mostly just the idea of learning powerful spells from him personally, who wouldn’t want to be his favorite for such an opportunity? Of course, she was his sister-in-law. If he truly wanted to learn how to control such a spell, he could just ask her. He made note to after this - or in a few days when they’ve gotten some rest - to do so. Right now, they had a job to do, or some havoc to create. “Creative? I’m always creative, my dear sister,” he informed her with a smirk of his own.
It was like Christmas when she conjured the spell. He often wondered if his version of Christmas was insane to most, but the point was it was beautiful. The amount of power that came off the spell was exhilarating, even more so because the spell was being controlled rather than let go on frenzy.
When the spell hit the bar, Rabastan’s fingers curled around his own wand. He waited for the right moment; people began screaming and scrambling out of the bar. How idiotic, he thought. To scream when they’re not even hurt? Fire was dangerous, yes, but it wasn’t like the door was on fire, not like they couldn’t escape. Muggles are frightened little things and it disgusted him. He used that disgust to his advantage with his magic.
He raised his wand and pointed it towards the door, whispering a few spells under his breath. Out of five Muggles that ran out: two caught fire themselves, one fell to the ground spitting up blood, and one became under his control and did as ordered; which was trip the man she was with and begin beating him (ordered to do so until death). It was amusing to watch reactions. For the others escaping, he flicked his wrist to conjure dozens of snakes (minding to make them poisonous) and sending them to strike.

"Children aren't in my future, to be honest. Unless they're adopted... but that's a very long process and I might get a child who isn't a pureblood. Not that I wouldn't care, since it's a child and not their fault, but I just wouldn't want the family to turn him or her away. It'd be cruel. I'm better off without children even if I do want them terribly."
March 18, 1979: Amelia Bones at the Ministry of Magic
“I…” Aurora hesitated, “share some of Mr. Rookwood’s concerns. That is to say, are short-term changes of plan the best way to dictate Ministry policy?” No, it really wasn’t to say as much. The real question was whether a whole slew of regular witches and wizards knew any better than the career politicians. They well might! It was the nature of democracy, to give the larger masses a voice when people only interested in furthering their own careers might have more corrupt plans, or simply have been doing the same thing for so long that they didn’t know how to adapt to the new circumstances. Then again, they might not. Which brought up the second point.
It was really too bad, for once in everyone’s lives, that Dumbledore was already on the Wizengamot, because otherwise the thought would have crossed Aurora’s mind to nominate the old codger just so he would need to have a serious, productive, use of his all-too-bizarre free time. Though, that gave her some ideas as to who to nominate. Could they shove someone upstairs, to shut them up and get them out of the way? Or, were the Death Eaters not likely to attack the same role twice, in which case it would be necessary to have a truly competent indiviual who could carry out their job without fear (or favor)? “It seems to me we’d need to have a clearer idea of what, exactly, the new prosecutor would be doing. Of course Jones was irreplaceable but—not being familiar with the ways of the Ministry—I’d be at a loss to know who to nominate in his stead!” Maybe it would be worth poaching someone from an otherwise-useless Ministry branch. Or the Daily Prophet, for that matter. It was almost the same problem—a fixation on managing things in the same way they’d always been done made them paralyzed, or just useless, when they met an enemy who didn’t play by their rules. Someone who respected those rules enough not to turn vigilante, but wasn’t blind about the scale of the threat, might prove useful, if the Death Eaters had caused enough prosecutorial chaos for the time being.
The young boy was not at all pleased to be present at the event there, and quite frankly, he found his attendance to be incredibly useless. It wasn’t like he would actually participate, and he knew that. So why was he continuously dragged to such things? The only thing good that might come out for him was some information. And realistically speaking, that would be close to nothing.”I can’t believe they don’t realize how fucking stupid they are”, he said quietly, in an offhand comment to the person sitting next to him. Usually he wasn’t really the chatty type, but either way, he was talking more to himself than to anyone, as he intended. He felt absolutely no desire to stand up and make a point to those bastard, nor did he have the authority to, anyway. “They obviously know that they’re being targeted, and they know that the place is, for now, unsafe. Why would they not only put these facts, and themselves in the spotlight like this to the public, but also so openly ask for suggestions as to who to take the spot? It’s like hanging up a big sign upon the entrance, saying ‘Please come kill us’”, he shook his head, still not really looking at whomever he was speaking to.
He had thought to sound bitter, not to come off all too indifferent. “If they had half a brain, they’d continue quietly, put some insignificant minion in the job, someone who doesn’t appear a real threat, until they fix whatever safety issues they got up there” - not that the ‘safety issues’ were possible to spot, or fix, as he had experienced - “Then would be the time to seriously look for someone to fill the spot. But doing that now… It’s rather morbid to say, but depending on whether or not the new guy would actually able to replace him, and given that he’s not a Death Eater… they’d probably only kill him again. It’s useless, reckless, and almost completely insane to try to fill the spot before they have seriously managed the holes in their security. Who was the moron responsible for that plan?”
Hestia shifted uncomfortably in her seat at the mention of her father, of course, she wasn’t about to burst into tears, but she couldn’t quite fathom out why they opting to replace him so quickly. Well, if she tried, she probably could, but she was certain that part of her didn’t want to. Too wrapped up in her own thoughts to pay much attention to her surroundings, the brunette failed to register the muttering beside her. Tilting her head to the side, she attempted to block out the debating going on throughout the room and listen to what Barty was saying, even if she didn’t particularly value his opinion on the matter, nor did she feel she should. Letting out a sigh, she couldn’t but wonder why she had been invited, she didn’t work for the ministry, she was no longer the daughter of a ministry worker, perhaps that had taken pity on her. Sympathy that she neither wanted nor needed.
Taking a moment to process his words, she found herself nodding in agreement. “Sheer stupidity.” She muttered under her breath, racking her brain for another reason that could possibly outweigh the negatives, although she failed to see how anything could outweigh human life. “They probably don’t want them to know they feel threatened.” Hestia shrugged, trying to find a way to justify their methods, after all, her father probably would’ve once agreed. “If it was me, I would carry on running things as normal, play it off as not a big deal, somehow it makes the whole thing less of a tragedy.” She was surprised by how easily the words rolled off her tongue, almost as if they were her opinions under all the criticism and hurt she had buried herself under, a remainder of the reserved little girl she once was. Unaware of how loudly she had been talking, her jaw fell shut, pursing her lips as she went back to pretending that she was allowed a say in the matter. People had always insisted that she was, however, in a room full of adults, she still felt the size of a mouse.
A small smile was painted on Narcissa’s lips as she listened to the panic around her. When Lucius asked her to attend the State of the Ministry Address with her brother-in-law, she had never expected it to be this comedic. The Ministry seemed more hopeless than usual, which was exactly what their Lord needed. As soon as the Ministry was gone, the war would be over and the new world order could reign. If only their Lord could make sure that one of their own would occupy the open prosecutor position.
“Brother, will you be volunteering your own name… I wonder.”Narcissa smiled more widely as she nudged at Rabastan’s shoulder to her right.
“It would be ideal to have someone high ranking that we trust to make the right decisions.” Narcissa spoke to the general crowd. “While it is tragic, the loss of Senior Jones, surely we must move forward. Has any progress been made in contacting the possible candidates? I would like to hope a few interviews have already been conducted.”
Rabastan cared for this meeting about as much as he cared for cats: none. This is probably why he had taken his seat next to his sister-in-law, slouched in his seat, and stared at a loose piece of thread as if it were the most interesting piece of string in the world. Of course he was half-listening: yada yada about the list - one he already had snatched and read - and about the poor unsuspected passing of Prosecutor Jones. As if the man were the Minister of Magic himself, they all reacted.
He brought his eyes up when he heard his sister-in-law speak to him. "Me?" He repeated. Of course it would do well to hold such a high place in the Ministry, he was never one to be in the public eye. Hence why he became an Unspeakable, hidden away in the shadows. He was used to standing in the background, being the younger brother. It's where he felt safe. But they couldn't hope on Rodolphus using his surname to deal with such power. He'd probably go mad. "Nominate me then, dear sister-in-law, surely I can't nominate myself. What would that make me look like?" he told her with a smirk after she spoke before turning towards the crowd. "I agree with Narcissa. Surely the wizarding world can't survive much longer - without chaos being involved - without filling the position. That should be of vital importance."
Spent an hour staring into the mirror trying to find a war face...

Name: Zachariah Thaddeus Grayson.
Gender: Male.
General Appearance: Link.
Personality: Zachariah is strict like Rabastan. He doesn’t tolerate jokes and things, but that’s only when someone is playing them on him. If he is the mastermind of the joke, like Josiah, he is all for it. He’s intelligent like both his parents, rebellious like Josiah, and determined to do his best and outshine anyone he is in comparison to like Rabastan. He’s just a perfect mold of both.
Special Talents: Dueling, strategizing, and deception.
Who they like better: Both.
Who they take after more: Eyes are Josiah’s, hair and most everything else is mainly Rabastan.
Personal Head canon: Josiah is the type to keep moving around, never settling, unless given a reason to stick around. That reason was firstly Zachariah, and shortly after, Rabastan finally - after much persuasion from Zachariah - decided to take Josiah as a partner. Thus making them a little family and it’s all because of Zachariah. This is something Rabastan thinks Zachariah for quite often.

Gender: Female.
General Appearance: Link.
Personality: Elaina is the definition of a free spirit. She doesn’t let anyone tell her what to do, what to belief in, or what’s right or wrong. She can judge things for herself, and has no care in the world what others think of her.
Special Talents: She’s very persuasive.
Who they like better: Evan.
Who they take after more: Both, really.
Personal Head canon: Elaina much preferred her father, Evan, to Rabastan. She just related to him more. She did hold many traits of Rabastan, but the man was too uptight, in a way, for her. That doesn’t mean she didn’t love him. She loved both her parents and would to hell and back.

Name: Roderick ‘Roddy’ Rabastan Lestrange.
Gender: Male.
General Appearance: Link.
Personality: He’s a trickster, considered one of the mean Slytherins’, and not one to back down from a fight no matter what. He’s headstrong and in personality he takes after Rodolphus. Rabastan is really the only one that can keep him straight when he gets out of control.
Special Talents: Pranking and he has a silver-tongue.
Who they like better: Rodolphus.
Who they take after more: Both? Rodolphus and Rabastan look alike, personality wise though, it’d be Rodolphus.
Personal Head canon: Roderick’s favorite thing to do growing up, was pranking his father, Rabastan. It was so easy to get the man, especially when he had his other father, Rodolphus helping. They often tortured Rabastan together: moving around everything in the kitchen and house so he couldn’t find anything, changing salt in the shaker for sugar and vise-verse, turning all his Ministry robes bright purple. One day Rabastan broke though. Rodolphus and Roderick were blue skinned with pink polka dots for a week.

Name: Soren Tobias Snape.
Gender: Male.
General Appearance: Link.
Personality: His personality is Severus to the bone, but he can be polite – even to those not of his blood status or beliefs – when he needs to be. He takes after Severus in every possible way, but when he’s just around his parents or someone he trusts (to the extent with his life) he shows a bit of Rabastan.
Special Talents: Dueling, strategizing, and coming up with plans quick as a rabbit.
Who they like better: Rabastan.
Who they take after more: Severus.
Personal Head canon: Soren always had a bit of a silver-tongue on him. It wasn’t surprising seeing as he was Severus’ son. He often used this silver-tongue when speaking to Rabastan, just to irritate the man. Of course, if Severus ever caught him, he’d get a swat in the head with a roll of paper or something of the sort. It was worth it when he was able to confuse Rabastan with his words.
Rab/Augustus
Name: Alexander Augustus Rookwood.
Gender: Male.
General Appearance: Link.
Personality: Alex is quite a combination of his parents. He makes excellent grades, quite popular among the student body even in houses other than Slytherin, and he generally gets along with anyone. He has the kind of attitude that makes you, yourself; want to look at the Brightside of things.
Special Talents: He does very well in all his classes, but has quite a knack for chess and such games like his father.
Who they like better: Both.
Who they take after more: Augustus personality wise, Rabastan look wise.
Personal Head canon: Growing up, Alex was known for being a bit of a playboy. Rookwood and Lestrange looks clashing lead him to being very egotistical of his natural good looks. The only person who never fell for his looks was a Gryffindor, Sally, who was also a Muggleborn. He would eventually grow up to marry this girl, surprisingly, his parents didn’t care much.

Name: Cyrus Orion Black.
Gender: Male.
General Appearance: Link.
Personality: Manipulative, deceptive, intelligent, always ready for a duel, egotistical—Just quite the definition of a Black.
Special Talents: Dueling, Dark Arts, and an excellent memory.
Who they like better: Both his parents.
Who they take after more: Regulus.
Personal Head canon: Cyrus’ idol growing up was his father, Regulus. He didn’t know the man much, due to him dying when Cyrus was such a young age. But Rabastan often told him as many stories as he could recall when attending Hogwarts of Regulus, or dinner parties held at the Black manor. He also arranged Bellatrix and Narcissa to tell him as much as they could about Regulus. Cyrus listened to it all, and even recorded anything he could about Regulus in a black notebook he never let out of his sight. Inside the notebook was every - no matter how small - bit of information he could get on Regulus, including pictures.

Name: Emma Jane Vance-Lestrange.
Gender: Female.
General Appearance: Link.
Personality: She’s very strong and independent, even when she was just a toddler. Headstrong and ready to take action whenever needed. She’s also very stubborn which makes things difficult.
Special Talents: Brilliant duelist, and knows quite a bit of Muggle fighting techniques.
Who they like better: Rabastan.
Who they take after more: Emmeline.
Personal Head canon: Emma’s first word was ‘No’. She said it when she was learning to walk on her own, Emmeline and Rabastan were hovering around her to make sure she didn’t fall on the hard floor. When Rabastan placed his hand on her back to keep her balanced, Emma flailed and hit his hand screeching ‘No!’ at him. Growing up, it became her favorite word. Especially to use when her father asked her to do something just to irritate the man.

Name: Madeline ‘Maddy’ Grace Evans-Lestrange.
Gender: Female.
General Appearance: Link.
Personality: She’s full of life, a true Gryffindor at heart, and always one to help someone in need out.
Special Talents: Charms and Potions.
Who they like better: Lily.
Who they take after more: Rabastan in looks. Lily in personality.
Personal Head canon: Madeline was never close to the Lestrange side of her family. She was actually disowned by Rodolphus for being the child of a Muggle-born (seeing as he was heir of the Lestrange family), but she always kept the ‘Lestrange’ part on her name, because she knew while her father had no choice but allow her to be disowned - seeing as he was the youngest sibling - he loved her dearly and saw her as often as he could, buying her gifts, being there whether it’s by nightly firecalls or owls.

Name: Roderick ‘Roddy’ Zachariah Crouch.
Gender: Male.
General Appearance: Link.
Personality: He’s the type of kid who keeps to himself. He’d much rather stay in the dark and the back of crowds rather than be noticed for… anything, really, negative or positive. He’s very calculating, skeptical, and often studies other people. In school he makes the grades to go high.
Special Talents: He has, surprisingly, quite a talent with magical creatures.
Who they like better: Both his parents.
Who they take after more: Barty.
Personal Head canon: Roderick never communicated well with anyone. For a very long time it was thought he had a social disorder. As a child he would sit in a corner with his own toys and refuse to play with others his age or around it. As a teenager he spent a large majority of his time reading, even at parties he sat at the table, hiding behind a book. The only person he’d open up to was his Uncle Rodolphus, oddly enough, who he found he could tell just about anything to.

Name: Phineas Alphard Black-Lestrange.
Gender: Male.
General Appearance: Link.
Personality: He can be very snobbish and conceited, but he’s a good kid at heart. He’s a strong believer that blood should be pure, but that hasn’t stopped him from speaking to Half-bloods and even dating a few. He knows that image is important, so he’s always dressing to impress and careful of what he does in the public eye.
Special Talents: He’s an ace of deception and he’s very trustworthy.
Who they like better: Narcissa.
Who they take after more: Narcissa.
Personal Head canon: Phineas never had a good relationship with his father. It wasn’t that they disliked each other, they got on very well. But because his parents weren’t married, it irked him and he refused to blame anything on his mother which left his father to take the blame. Rabastan happily accepted this blame, even if it did kill him a little on the inside anytime Phineas brought it up, especially in arguments.
