I hope to major in either print or broadcast journalism. It really pisses me off when I hear people say "oh he/she got in because they're a minority." Or "oh they applied for a weak major." Or "wow how did they accept them over ME" Seriously? These people worked their ASSES off and they achieved their dreams. I'm sorry if you got rejected, but ZERO sympathy for you if you take out your frustration/disappointment by trying to take someone else down. Don't try to rain on someone's parade because you're sad. Focus on yourself. Focus on achieving YOUR dreams and goals and make those schools that turned you down wish they accepted you. SPREAD POSITIVE VIBES GUYS.

Hi I was wondering something about EDII for NYU, if the financial aid package is not good enough, can I not accept the acceptance? ( i didnt know how to word this sorry) Because I need a shitload of financial aid in order to be able to go. Thank you!

You are correct! If NYU does not offer you a sufficient amount, and you really can not afford to go, you can deny your acceptance. You will not have to withdraw from your other schools, but NYU will no longer be an option for you.

Be aware: NYU could tell the other schools you applied to that you backed out of an EDII agreement, and they might be hesitant to accept you. Also, NYU might “blacklist” future applicants from your school. Meaning, in the future, when people from your high school apply to NYU, the admissions counselors might be like “oh no, remember that one kid, we can’t accept anyone from this high school cause we can’t trust them,” and your guidance counselor who had you sign the agreement might not be trusted by NYU anymore. This is why NYU really suggests that if you are relying heavily on fin aid, you probably should apply RD.

I didn’t take this advice and applied EDII to NYU anyway, even though I also need a lot of aid, but in the end it worked out okay because NYU actually surprisingly offered me a lot of money. In the end, it’s up to you if you want to take the risk. If NYU is your absolute dream school, and you’re willing to allow these things to happen worst-case-scenario, then do whatever you want! I really hope this didn’t worry you or anything, I just really want you to be informed before you sign up for a commitment like this! I regret applying ED, but I’m also glad that I did, so really take your time weighing your decision! Best of luck!

Super done with all the meryl davis x charlie white hate. At the VERY most you need to criticize the judges, not these two. This was completely out of control. And honestly completely disrespectful towards all the hard work they've put into. V/M ARE fabulous, but so are D/W. They have completely different styles, but tonight I truly think the placings were fair. You paranoid v/m fans make up an excuse every time d/w place higher in something...but fail to recognize that V/M DO have weaknesses (so does D/W). What V/M lack in some minor technicalities, they make up through their chemistry and overall flow in the program. What D/W lack in chemistry and romance, they excel in technicality. If I had to say one thing, id say 5 points is rather a larger gap than I predicted. But PLEASE for once, just let D/W celebrate their well-deserved gold. Both pairs have had a phenomenal career, so just stop spewing hate for TWO seconds and appreciate the fact that they accomplished their dreams.
