PROMPT/IDEA- Hope you like it!

“Get behind me.” Hissed the guard, putting an arm up before the Prince, stopping him. “Now.”

“Have you lost your mind?! Unhand me this instant, you insolent, insubordinate-“ He was cut off as the guard shoved him to the floor as an arrow struck the earth with a ‘thwuck’, exactly in the spot he had once been standing.

PROMPT/IDEA- Enjoy!

They looked at him tearfully, pressing an icepack to his bruised face. “You daft man! You stupid, stupid man, why would you do that!?”

“You know why.” He whispered, not taking his eyes from the cabin floor as he was attended to. “I love-“

“No, you don’t.” They hissed. “You don’t, so thinking you do.” As they reapplied the ice, their voice softened as they tried to be gentler, watching the man wince. “It’ll be easier for you not to.”

”Look at me!” She screamed, stomping her foot as hard as she could against the floor. “Please, mum, look at me! I’m right here, why can’t you look at me!”

“I’ll look at you when you’re worthy of my gaze.”

“I’m your daughter!” Exclaimed the girl, quietening as her tears rolled off her jaw. “I’m your daughter, mum. Please, just look at me.”

PROMPT/IDEA- Enjoy!

Lightning, jagged and harsh, quick as a sword, faster than blinking slashed into the sky like a cat’s slashed claw marks against the dusk. “Captain!” He exclaimed, spluttered as he slammed into the ship’s railing as waves crashed over the sides.

“Full steam ahead! I won’t lose another chase, I shan’t! Full steam ahead!” Thunder cracked overhead. The navigator clutched his chest, wheezing and coughing still.

“We can’t, sir, the storm’s too much! We’ll never make it!”

“We’ll make it if I say we’ll make it!” The captain hollered back, battling the howling wind to be heard. “How dare you question me!?”

“Please, Captain! I beseech you, see reason-”

“Enough! One more word from you and I’ll have you lashed! Full steam ahead! Don’t let them get away!”

PROMPT/IDEA- Enjoy!

Hot, thick magma seeped through the cracks in the black obsidian floor that he walked over, careful not to tread in one. Hot air hissed at the Duke as he approached the throne. The corners of the room were shrouded by steam. His steps clicked, echoing in the abandoned throne room. Statues, littered remnants of a more prosperous time for this Kingdom, lay shattered on the floor.

A guttural chuckle sounded, bouncing off the walls, dry and ironic. “Now now,” His heart froze. “You’re a mighty long way from home, darlin’.”

”I’m starting to think this was a bad idea.” He rubbed his temples, staring at the bickering band of delinquents before them.

“The King wanted a new army, and you were the fool daft enough to say you’d deliver.” She sighed. “You’ve made this bed, so it’s only fair you lie in it.”

”You left me.” He exhaled, refusing to look them in the eyes. “How could you have left me at a place like that? You knew what they were doing!”

“I had to get away! There was no life left for me there, I-“

“I was there.” Tears rolled down his face. “I was there! You told me I was a part of your life! You promised I would be, and you left me. How can you stand there and tell me there was no life there for you?!”

”I forgive you.” He breathed, not taking his eyes from the crackling fire. She stared at him, dumbfounded. A tense silence fell over the two like a blanket, like snow falling silently over a village. A moment passed. Followed by another.

“And I you.”

“You don’t have to do this.” They spluttered, clutching their side as she strode over to them, a wicked smile painting her features.

“Oh, honey, I know.” Kicking them backwards, she knelt down to whisper into their ear. “But I want to.”

”You need my help, your Majesty?” She laughed, staring at the pathetic, soaked mess of the disgraced monarch before her, shivering at her doorstep. “When I needed your help, you closed your doors and left me. What makes you worthy of my help, when you never once reached a hand to help me?”

”Why are you so upset? There was no life for me there, I had to get away. What about that can’t you understand?”

“No life for you?” They looked at them piercingly, heartbroken. “I was there. You left me there.”

“It’s not about you. It’s my life, I’m living it for myself! You can’t chain me down like that!”

“You’re selfish.”

“So are you! Get over yourself.” They scoffed, amazed by the other’s reaction. “What makes you deserving of my life, when you weren’t willing to follow me? Stop acting like the victim here, you’re not.”

PROMPT/DEAR- Happy Valentine’s Day!

”I hate this time of year.” He stared out onto the city skyline from the building-top, the blinking lights a cacophony of faux-fireflies. “It’s miserable, and cold, and I-“

“I know.” Exhaled the man sat next to him. He rested his head on the other’s shoulder, putting an arm around his waist. “It’ll be over soon, though. Winter doesn’t last. We’re past the worst of it, now, my dear.”

“Oh, you must of missed me.” He smiled dryly. 

“Not in the slightest. You were cruel, and manipulative.” 

“Yet you loved me.” The Prince’s looked them up and down, before holding out a gloved hand. “And I was never cruel to you, I adored you.” He held a hand up to caress their face, but they slapped him away quickly.

“Keep away from me.”

”I,” Hesitating, she rocked backwards and forwards on her feet. “I apologise. For before.” She awkwardly stated, waiting for his response.

“I don’t care.” He didn’t look at her. He couldn’t bear it, not after what happened.

”You’re weak.” She grabbed his face, forcing him to look at her as she spoke. Disgust painted her features as her lips curled into a sneer. “Weak, to fall for someone like that. You think they would ever love you? You think anyone could ever love you!?”

“Mum, please!”

“You were supposed to be so much more!” The slap echoed throughout the throne room as the Empress’s palm connected with her son’s cheek, leaving a mark. “Get out of my sight!” She shrieked.

”I will tell the world of your life.” He whispered, holding her lifeless head in hands as held back his tears. “You will not die in vain.” His voice grew shakier with each breath. “I can’t,” the wind grew stronger. “I can’t let them forget you.”

He let out a strangled scream as she grabbed his neck, dragging him backwards before the King’s men saw them. “What are you doing!?” She exclaimed, throwing him to the ground.

“That’s the King! We’ve known each other since we were boys, he can help me!”

“Oh brilliant,” Rolling her eyes, she paced up and down. “Yes of course he’ll help you. But what would happen to me, huh? Did you think about that!?”

“Well you’d,” His words trailed off as his realisation set in. “You’d be,”

“Yes! They’d hang me!”

“I’d talk to him. What happened was a long time ago, you were young, it was a misunderstanding. Please, let me go to him, I swear he’ll forgive you!” He pleaded. The woman let out a breath, looking away.

“The world doesn’t work that way.” Finally she exhaled, her face awash with regret.
