never did i wish to compete with someone who is my friend until this very day.

I have one close friend of mine who’s now pregnant. And it hasn’t been announced yet. She only mentioned it to me to what I don’t even know why.

Yes i was surprisingly she mentioned it with me. I thought i was so much lucky to heard the news first. But this is where it gets complicated.

I am going to have an engagement party and it was already announced to alot of people and we specifically asked them to reserved the date for me. And it was obviously that day would be one of my milestone in life. Which i get to have an engagement with my partner.

But this friend of mine who’s pregnant, started to tell me that she’s planning to “reveal the babies gender on the freakin same day of my engagement but in evening” Oh so that’s where my confusion takes in. Why would you plan to have an event on the very same day of my event? why would you want to snatch my spotlight? what are you trying to do. That’s is my question. I am very confused and hurt.

Sometimes people exist just for you to have a good time with and then move on from. And once you can accept that, it makes everything a lot easier, because a lot of happiness stems from managing expectations. The reason we get hurt so much is because we have a good time with someone and then we obsess- waiting for them to text us, wanting to see them again, stalking them, picturing our life with them- and then when we find out they don’t want exactly what we do, we’re crushed. But really, they don’t owe us a future or anything at all, they don’t even owe us a text the next day. And I’ve come to accept that sometimes a good time can just be a good time, without the promise of a future, and that’s fine.

There was a time when what I wanted from you was anything. Literally anything you’d give me- two minutes of your time, a high five, anything. And what I ended up getting was so, so much more. And I’m never going to get over that for the rest of my life because you made me feel so lucky. But now I’ve been trying to figure out what I want from you next and I don’t think it’s anything. And I’ll never forget that you were at one point everything I ever wanted, I’ll seriously never forget that, but I think what I want now is different. So I guess it’s sad but true that we all move on and grow and change and what we want and like is never permanent, whether it be hobbies, careers, clothes, or even people.
