Hayden looked at his phone having talked with his brother looking at Vy, they needed them to come to the shelter, but both Chris and Hayle were away. Since the last attack they had seen nothing to them, and even River thought they would be okay, but he still felt it was a huge thing to ask of Vy, knowing just how scared he had been when it happened with his dad. He also knew he couldn’t help if anything happened. The shelter had been operational a little over half a year and had quickly become very popular and it was often the first place someone called when they had a crisis. Both Rylan and Vy had graduated now, and Vy had been accepted as an intern and medical student at the hospital, while Rylan had devoted all his time to the shelter and the modeling, where the shelter took most his time, with the modeling being in-between. Hayden on his end had taken care of the webpage and simsbook page for the shelter catching up with school as best his body let him, closing on graduation himself, showing how easily he could catch up when he had all the right reasons too. His plan was to take a business degree where he would use the shelter as his subject, which would work double as it would help the shelter and his education at the same time.
“They called from the shelter Vy, they had a bit of an emergency….”
He stopped, knowing full well that his parents weren’t home, shaking his head knowing it would simply be too much to ask of him. He sighs and looks at Vy.
“Never mind, too much of a risk.”
Vy looked at Hayden, fiddling his hands nervously. The shelter was important, he knew that and he wanted to go, but without anyone to go with them, what if something happened? What if the hunters were around, although they had not seen any of them since that day in the store, perhaps Mr. Chris had scared them away for good, or his boss?
“I guess…. I guess we could…”
“Really.. I mean, if we fly, it wouldn’t take long?”
“I think so… We have not seen hunters for a long time..?”
Hayden cupped his face with his hands, looking at him gently, caressing his cheek with one finger.
“It’s okay to say no, they will just have to find a way to manage.”
“Why do they need help?”
“They got new kittens, one is very sick, and then they got a call about an old house with a cat mom with her kittens, where the house is at risk to collapse… They can’t leave the kittens, especially the sick one without care, and they don’t want the mom and her kittens to die. I know you don’t want to Vy, and that is fine.”
Vy sighed, he really did not want to, the risk always felt so big. Even when it was just him and Chris or Hayle followed him to work it was a risk, now that risk would be doubled, with them both going. Still, he didn’t want to leave Rylan and River hanging and risk kittens dying. Taking a deep breath he nodded, mostly to himself.
