Last week I had the opportunity to attend to the Nova Listening Party. A dear friend and I took a plane, a bus and a taxi and finally got to Newport Pagnell, a village near Milton Keynes, where we all know The RavenEye were formed. The venue was the function room of The Cannon, a friendly and really nice place where Oli often played, as he said. The memories are a bit blurred since I was terribly excited, but few things stayed in my mind. Oli and Aaron were really nice and welcomed us so warmly and chatted friendly for a while. It was so special, we were about 50 people in total, including friends and family of the guys. They answered to few questions and also they introduced the new drummer Adam. I was very happy since I only saw the RavenEye once in my life before that night, so it was great for me to have the opportunity to chat awhile with all of them, and to meet Adam too, who is really a nice and funny lad. So let’s go to the music! The album is going to be really awesome! Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to recognize all the songs names during the listening, but for most of them I can say that I loved them (I normally need to listen to a song 3-5 times to understand my feelings towards it). Besides the singles Hero and Inside, I really loved Madeline and Out of the Rain. I was so curious about Oh My Love, maybe their most famous non-EP song, and result is sincerely above my expectations. I complained about the absence of Nobodies Soul (or whatever the spelling might be, since you can find many different versions on youtube), but Aaron told that it was simply not suitable for a studio version. We will have to wait for a live album then…
The only fault of it all was that it ended. And it left me with the urge for the album and for a concert as soon as possible.
(I will probably recall more things in the next days, but for now I will just leave this here)
