“Illyria.. I’m so sorry..” Erin spoke softly as she pulled her friend into a gentle embrace. She hadn’t known that Illyria had been close to the deceased witch, yet the reaction spoke for itself. “Everything is going to be okay..” She promised, rubbing the other girl’s back gently.
Illyria welcomed her friend’s embrace. In fact, she needed it. She could hardly believe it to be true and the reality was not one she wanted to accept. It was true that before coming to the town, Illyria hadn’t known the witch and yet over the past few months they had developed a close friendship. “She was too young.” She said, her voice low. “She didn’t deserve that.” It was war, of course, and what people deserved didn’t seem to matter. She could only hope that the baby would remain okay in the coming weeks. She knew how far along Lily had been, and the baby hadn’t been due for a while. There were always complications. Illyria wished she could have been there for her friend, but knew that she would have to be there for the baby.
