this is a masterpost for my fic, how to save the universe (i will link it below if you would like to read it), which is a unstable universe/legend of zelda breath of the wild (botw) crossover fic. if you need any information on botw, i created a post for that as well, and i will link that here as well. if you do not have a basic understanding of botw, i would recommend at least skimming through it. my fic updates every week on saturdays unless i say otherwise, and i would recommend following my tumblr for updates and other related uu posts :D
this post will contain links to all of my other posts about hsu, mostly to keep this post from being a bagillion words long
(obviously, this post and related posts may contain spoilers for hsu and other related works, so tread with caution! i will do my best to avoid spoilers)
one more thing before i drop all of the links: please keep in mind that anything linked other than the zelda post is information pertaining to my au, not the actual game. there will be things that are different just because that’s how i decided to make it in my au. please feel free to send me asks or comment on this post with questions! if i get a lot i might make a qna post but we’ll see.Â

Wemmbu’s hand was tight on Flame’s wrist, pulling him away from the battlefield. The world felt like it was underwater, the screams and shouts and clashing of swords muted by the deafening silence. A high pitched squeal rang through the air, removing any sense of hearing that Flame had left. His feet slammed into the ground, pain shooting up his shins and nearly causing his knees to buckle underneath him. His lungs were burning, chest heaving from the strain of moving along with Wemmbu’s quick pace.Â
The side of Flame’s head was freezing cold, a dull, throbbing weight pressing against his temple and causing his head to spin. The ground seemed to tilt under him, but he couldn’t stop running.Â
Flame’s blindfold was tight against his skull, pressing against his face in the way he hated. The dark fabric was going to crease if he didn’t fix it now—
“Flame? Flame!”Â
Someone was snapping their fingers in front of his face.Â
Flame’s eyes shot open, then immediately closed at the bright light that pierced through his pupils and straight into his skull.Â
finally rewrote chapter one!!! it has a new title and everything >:)
if i end up writing more i’ll post them all at the same time, but idk what’s going to happen w that lmao
also i might delete chapter 14 (or whatever the one i just posted last week was) because i lowkey don’t like the way it’s going and i thing i can do better
this post is a lot more serious than my usual posts, but i feel like all of this needs to be said.Â
this post will contain more opinion based topics that can be quite controversial in the minecraft community. if you can handle reading my opinions without leaving hate, you may continue to read this post.Â

nothing on here is specifically supposed to be hate towards anyone in particular, just how i feel about certain things.Â
one more time: TW opinionsÂ
so the first topic for me specifically refers to lifesteal smp and unstable smp, but i’m pretty sure this is a thing outside of these fandoms. i am, of course, talking about mcyt shipping and boundaries.Â
people have boundaries. it’s a normal thing. you have boundaries. i have boundaries. it’s fine.Â
so why does it become a problem when it’s mcyt?Â
if your boundaries were being broken by someone, you’d probably feel uncomfortable. i know i would. and if these youtubers are uncomfortable with being shipped, why are you still doing it?Â
people make the argument that it’s “about the characters not the CCs”. and while, sure, it’s about the characters they portray, these characters are an extension of them. and besides, if they request that their character not be shipped, don’t do it!Â
also, these are PEOPLE. real people. and i know sometimes it’s easy to forget when you only see them behind a screen, but they are people. they have feelings, emotions, and opinions. please just respect them like you would any other person.Â
if you are ever confused on a boundary, the internet does exist to look these things up. so “i didn’t know” isn’t usually a valid excuse for breaking boundaries.

the next thing i’m going to talk about is youtube comments.Â
specifically, these ones: “_____ found their password” , “_________ finally uploaded” , “____: vacation arc” , and other similar comments.Â
can we not think of anything else to say?Â
i’m going to stress again that these are real people. who have lives outside of content creation.Â
maybe they’re on a trip.Â
maybe they’ve been struggling with creative burnout.Â
maybe they’re taking a break.Â
IT DOESNT MATTER.Â
they are people. and they deserve to have a life outside of people tagging them in posts like “@____ please upload 🙏🙏🙏”Â
these people make content because they enjoy it. and yes, they are getting paid and yes, they are probably doing it for the money, they are making content that they know the viewers enjoy. and what are we paying them back with? comments written by eight year olds and hate?Â
please.Â
these are real people. with real emotions and feelings.Â
think twice before you write something.Â

this next topic is something i don’t know too much about, but i still want to address it.Â
and that is of course whatever was happening at vidcon.Â
i’ve only seen a few stream clips and read some posts about what was happening, so im going to keep this vague to avoid spreading any form of misinformation.Â
if you ever meet someone who you follow online or in person, please just again keep in mind that these are people. i can not stress this enough. and i know ive said it so many times. but its the truth.Â
telling a person that you really like their content and appreciate them making it: okay!Â
telling someone you’re obsessed with them and being generally creepy: not okay.Â
think twice before you do something.Â
and remember that if you wouldn’t want someone saying that to you, don’t say it to them.Â

this next topic does surround the entire minecraft community, not just smp stuff.Â
specifically these kinds of comments: “fix bedrock” , “when is the next update” , “this update lowkey sucks” , and other comments similar to this.Â
why are we so ungrateful?Â
minecraft is a game for everyone. that’s what mojang has been trying to do.Â
we get four updates a year.

and we’re still like “this update sucks! i want an end update!”Â
like sure, i also would like an end update at some point. but yelling at mojang to fix the end instead of just letting them make their game is very annoying.Â
and yes, i know mojang tries its best to take the community’s suggestions into consideration, but trying to force them to update something is so stupid when you could just download a mod.Â
also the dappled forest is freaking awesome wdymÂ
some updates will appeal to the builders of minecraft. some updates will appeal to the pvpers. some updates will appeal to the redstoners. and that’s okay.Â
let them make their game! please.Â
also worth mentioning is bedrock edition.Â
i am a bedrock player.Â
i don’t own a pc.Â
and while i definitely agree with the fact that bedrock edition is not the best, i kind of enjoy its quirks.Â
there are some things that i wish we had in bedrock. but there are things that only exist in bedrock that i would really miss if they were gone.Â
so asking mojang on EVERY SINGLE YOUTUBE SHORT to “fix bedrock” is stupid.Â
also it’s the top comment on everything. stop. please.Â
i’m not saying i disagree with you. i do think that bedrock is laggy and buggy. but that’s part of the bedrock experience. and it always makes me laugh when i discover a new glitched structure or odd terrain generation.Â

one last thing before i go.Â
i understand that everything ive been talking about in this post is not coming from every single person in this community.Â
we have a very loud minority of people who make things a larger problem than they need to be.Â
if you are a part of that loud minority, i would like you to take a second before you leave your next comment. before you make your next post. and just think to yourself. “these are real people.”Â
because they are. they are real people.Â
everyone at mojang. real people.Â
mcyters. real people.Â
you. real person.Â

one of my dreams since i was eight years old was to become a minecraft youtuber.Â
i still wish this could be my reality.Â
but one of the reasons i haven’t is because of everything i see happening in this community.Â

i am trying to point out places that we could work on as a community.Â
on today’s episode of My Autocorrect Is On Something And Also Raven Can’t Spell To Save Their Life: here’s some of my spelling mistakes from writing chapter 12!!
enemies to lovers but its not "who did this to you?" but its "I did this to you" bc damn in the moment it felt necessary but the cuts weren't supposed to be that deep. the lashes should have faded by now, right? why are they still limping? make your characters self reflect. burden them with guilt and regret :) imagine laying in bed with the person you grew to love, only for them to roll over in their sleep and for you to see the nettled scars you inflicted on them
alright, i'll be the one to say it. ao3 and tumblr becoming "mainstream" did so much damage to the community and the writers. i have seen loads of videos and posts about:
1. people hating on writers and fics. writing is something we do for free and for fun. if you stumble upon a fanfic that isn't necessarily your cup of tea or you just don't like, scroll. dont read it. literally leave their page. you don't know if this could be the author's first work that they're so excited about, you dont know if the language they're writing in isn't their first language, you dont know that the writer could be a literal teen and loads of other reasons. fanfictions don't HAVE to be perfect. you write what you want to write because we do it for fun and enjoyment and we want to share that to the world. seriously, what is the wrong with that?..
2. x reader consumers getting WAY too entitled. the number of tiktoks i've seen that say "i run a strict program when it comes to reading fanfics." girl you aint running shit. this is FAN FICTION you're reading. F A N F I C T I O N. there is no denying that most fanfiction writes are beyond talented but just because you read one fanfic that exceeds your expectations doesn't give you the right to talk down on others that don't. people have their own personal writing style, their way of doing things and you talking shit on that isn't right.
at the end of the day, we are all humans, reading and writing is what we do and what we're meant to do. and for you to talk shit about a person WRITING is so insane. we are humans. not some robots that you can tell what to do so you can consume it.
i've seen so so many authors take down their fanfics and losing all motivation to write because of a hate comment. DONT LIKE DONT READ‼️
and to every author reading this, this community values your work and your contribution. we love u and, please, never let anyone's negative words have an effect on you.
The best writing advice I ever got was that you should write dialogue without tags or any interruptions first, and add that in later. because you can see the scene in your head and writing just the dialogue first helps you envision what the characters would actually say without worrying about all the extra stuff, and it helps your dialogue end up sounding more natural and consistent.
