Wild caught clownfish will be like ‘hm you see, the anemone you got me is a slightly different color and tentacle width than the one I had back home, so I will not begin hosting it. I’ll be a sort of wandering ronin for the rest of my days.’ And then a captive bred clownfish will be like ‘ok so I have this curved rock I found and I just sit above it and it take care of me 👍’

Because yes that is true. But when you frame it like that you are completely disregarding the absolutely batshit reality that Blue Whales are the largest animals that have ever existed on earth through the entire history of the planet and they are alive right now today

Wildlife Rehab Help!

Hello friends!

To those who are new to this blog, welcome, I'm Meri and I am a wildlife rehabber and scientist (immunologist to be specific). I work with eastern cottontails in the state of Michigan as one of only approximately 8 rescuers which means I take care of a LOT of buns.

I work with domestic rabbits and wild ones, and none of this is paid for. This is a privilege and an honor to be able to use my skill to work for something bigger than myself, but it means I rely on donations from finders and followers.

No one is obligated to donate, I will never be the person to push that down anyone's throat, but donations via my amazon link help me keep my supplies stocked and significantly increase my capacity, which means I can save even more bunnies. The thing about people using delusional as an insult or "delulu" as the trendy new term is that sometimes I really want to sit someone down and tell them that I think they're genuinely delusional and that they can get support and help if they're living with psychosis and that they absolutely aren't alone but even the most neurodivergent-positive person will respond as if I'm calling them the most horrible words in existence.

Delusional is a neutral term. Being delusional is a neutral state. When you contribute to the stigma around delusions and being delusional, you are stealing valuable language from people dealing with psychosis and people who are seeking help and support for the things they're going through. And as a delusional person, it really fucking sucks.

Okay, since somebody asked, I think it's important that I post just explaining the issues with TMA and TME.

TMA is a term meaning Transmisogyny Affected. TME is Transmisogyny Exempt.

In its usage, anybody that is not transfem is considered TME; in more extreme cases, anybody that is not a trans woman might be considered TME. I've gotten the sense that I'm getting pretty close to the transandrophobes declaring me TME, as the term is very inconsistent.

Here's the elephant in the room, TME is a slur; it is a new slur, and I've not seen anybody really label it as such yet, so I'm taking some responsibility for making that call and getting the word out.

TME is not used as a helpful, educational, empowering, or even consistent label. What it is used for is solely to attack transmasc and nonbinary people. It exists to silence them, to other them; that is its purpose.

TME is also built upon a falsehood; the truth of the matter is that no trans person, not a single one, is exempt from transmisogyny. We are all affected. People using TME as a term like to claim otherwise, as a means of centering themselves, but the claim is completely unsubstantiated and borders on self delusion.

Knowing this, I believe we need to recognize TMA and TME for what they are, unacceptable terms with no valid usecase, which exist solely to cause harm to our community.

Edit: Also feel free to use the tag or reblog or make your own posts about it; I just want to see this term die, so gotta get the word out about what it really is.

huge fan of the depth of a good purple but another area that draws me is definitely around aquamarine/turquoise/seafoam. you can not go wrong once the green starts getting just a tinge more blue. a gal could certainly do worse than to pull over there and stay a while
