Tristan Eaton’s “LEGACY” at Subliminal Projects.
On Saturday, November 7th, 2015 opening at Subliminal Projects in Los Angeles, California and presented by Library Street Collective is the mega-anticipated solo show from prolific artist Tristan Eaton entitled “Legacy,” the artist’s first solo show in the United States in a decade.
“Legacy” offers a personal glimpse of Tristan’s past as each portrait for the exhibition is that of a person who has played a central role in his life (as well as his first ever self-portrait). Tristan says, “A common challenge we all share is adequately describing a loved one to people that never knew them. It’s so important to pass on the legacy of those you love to your children and grandchildren, but also to the whole world. The sharing of human stories is an ancient tradition that bonds us closer together as people. As a result, we understand each other more deeply and become stronger better people when the context of our legacy is clear. The people that came before me made me who I am, and I intend to pass along their stories and strengths by creating this ‘time-capsule’ of an exhibition that honors their legacy and preserves their stories forever.”
Tristan is one of my all time favorite artists and his work is phenomenal, I really wish I could go see this show.
Alongside the artwork will be Tristan’s first ever artbook and also a special edition Montana spray can. PLUS visitors can grab a USB stick that will include all the work and interviews with the artist. “Legacy” will be on view only until November 14th, 2015.

Brian Viveros, “Matador,” at Thinkspace Gallery.
Opening at Thinkspace Gallery in Culver City, California on Saturday, November 7th, 2015 is the phenomenal new solo show from Brian Viveros entitled “Matador.”
“Matador” is a comprehensive exhibition of all of Viveros new work over the past several years and it is stunning. Viveros’s work takes place in “Dirtyland,” a world made up of women warriors bloodied and hardened by the endless suffering, strife and destitute conditions of which they exist. But these bad-girls embody not the doldrums of their mire but the power, resilience, passion and beauty of their souls.
“Matador” is on display until November 28th, 2015. A brand new book of Viveros’s work, his first, will be available at the opening and after, “The Dirtyland,” which chronicles his work, interviews and process.

Hello black women?
Finally got on the gram. JEEz!
Gerardo-Rico suave motherfucker! This shit was cold, the dancing scenes and this cat's outfit alone was some different shit. If we're gonna talk about JLO then we must talk about this dude. First "spanglish" pop rap shit I ever saw on MTV. Really loved the fusion of James brown (Give it up), with ill Latin grooves ( I'm sorry do not know the original songs sampled; I'm thinking Cuban jazz, or salsa tunes that were sampled for this?)
Before Yonce or any of this shit out right now, my girl Missy Elliot was doing some great things. Beats by Timberland, visuals by Hype Williams. Shout out to MC Solaar. Future shit.
Man.. watching Vanilla sky again recently I heard this song in the movie and was like what the fuck! Great tune, especially the section they used in the movie, such great placement and selection of music for that film. Really brought me closer to some 60's and 70's American tunes I either never paid close attention to or never heard.
It don't get no better.
Um this chick is not hot to me. I mean look she is dope looking I'll say that. She's had one or two catchy records, and she can shake her ass no doubt lol. But I mean its like a lot of these new young mc's can't really spit great. She's like a rap parrot, she's basically imitating what she's hearing around her and who she's hanging out with. Is it because she's Australian ? I say this. No I thinks it because she's not nice. She's gotten better, but damn man this is more of a pop rap thing, its like if Katy Perry came out with a full rap album. No matter who you were in days past, your shit had to be approved by people who had to be tested and proven on site, not this nursery school, fake trap, pop bullshit. Man sometimes I don't why I even care about this genre anymore. Otherwise I think she's cute, and all that but I don't take her seriously. You want a new dope young up and coming female mc? Check out snow the product, that chick is super nice. All these kids, need to go back and listen to Illmatic, Cuban LInks, Ready To die, Life after Death, the Blueprint I mean you know to start. Study that shit man, listen to the production and the skill level cats were bringing out. I'm done.
