After the Halloween party, our crew were still in to some sessions and training. Sometimes we do some flash mob which is surprisingly and unexpectedly dancing in a crowded place. We also recruited some kids that were hungry to learn to dance. Those kids were crewmates of Christian, Gelo, and Rick. They were part of "The Alliance". Alliance is led by Ryan who graduated from my first school which is Caritas Don Bosco School. One time, I went to a party of CDBS and there were balloons, confetti, dance floor, and heaps of people and more. This was when I still actively part of SSM. I saw some of my batchmates and they knew that I'm a dancer because they've heard that I'm friends with the Outrageous Crew. They told me to join a cypher and show what I've got. After some announcement, I saw Ryan and some of his friends. They were alumni they had a crew called split seconds when they were still in high school. I saw some of my batchmates doing some stunts and stuff and Ryan and his friends were like trying to call them out. My batchmate, Mark, approached me and asked to join them and help them out with the alumni. So I hop in and did couple of popping and bboy but Ryan was trying to get in to my nerves. I didn't continue dancing with them because I know that I'm not good enough to fight six of them. They were really showing off but I told myself that I'll come back and beat his ass. After that year, before Gelo, Christian, Rick, and some of us met Ryan, they felt the same feeling that I felt when I was battling Ryan. I think he's too boastful. They said he's like a show off and building himself but doesn't really know respect which is a big thing in hip hop. We tried to give him a chance so we could really know him more but to me, It was enough. So fast forward, Ryan made a crew consisting some of the kids and three from our crew. I didn't join them because I don't want to fit in to something that is not ready for me or push myself to be a part of something that I don't want. They had separate training, and guesting too. When I tried to join their training, I understand Ryan's side or perception and concept of his own understanding of Hip hop. One of the intriguing thing that he said was Bboy is the only thing that is part of Hip hop culture which is not true. I tried to explain it to him but he doesn't agree. What I learn about our session is that I can't change him or control what he thinks but I can control myself to inspire others, teach them the real thing or maybe spread the wrong concepts of hip hop. What I know about hip hop is that, bboy was the first genre of dance then locking and popping were typically used in clubs which makes it a social dance but it's also part of hip hop because it also started from the streets. Krumping is also part of hip hop and this genres were created and transformed in the streets too.Sometimes, we should learn how to listen and filter what is right and wrong from someone's opinion. We also need to know the difference of fact and opinion because one day, you might infect some with your wrong information and make them consider your opinion as a fact which could make you a fool by yourself as well as the student who got the info. Opinions are self constructed sentence/phrase that come from ones experience. Hip hop was created by those people who gave in their time, energy and blood to share by those people who will dance and make their ideas be transformed by other people to bring out their own flavor or style. Its just about sharing and helping. Wolf out.
