A/N: love myself some reverse jealousy
⤷It was another moonless night in the Circus. Pierrot actually stopped by the cafe while you were working to let you know that he had a bigger performance tonight & he wanted you to watch.
Why today? You tried to ask, but he remained silent. Still so secretive. You thought he’d at least give you some details about the circus. Even if it was something small - nonetheless, he kept those secrets between him & the circus tents.
“Alright, I’ll see if I can get off early to see your show.” You said, as you wiped one of the tables. Pierrot gave you a smile & a thanks. He remained in the cafe watching you work until he had to leave to prepare.
You managed to get your boss to close the cafe early - he told you that there were some inventory orders & renovations that needed tending too, so he’d close the cafe early for that. You thanked him, & wished you well at the circus’ special night.
You made a pit stop home to change into something a little warmer & nicer than just a your work attire.
As you were walking towards the circus, you noticed there was quite a large amount of people attending. You were silently hoping you’d be able to find a seat.
Ladies & gentleman a friendly reminder to Circus precautions-
After walking through a sea of people, & saying a little hello to Bil at the entrance- you somehow managed to get a front row seat in Pierrot’s tent. So what if you were two seats away from a couple of slightly annoying girls? You could brush that off, you were here for Pierrot after all.
-Thank you. And now, please give a warm welcome to your entertainment for tonight, The Pierrot!
The spot lights suddenly flashed to the center of the tent, where Pierrot stood, holding a large hanging red in his left hand. Everyone cheered as he gave a bow. You cheered for him as well, excited to see how he’d perform. The girls on your side seemed to get louder though..
He first began dancing around the ribbon, his shadow mimicking him in a similar yet opposite direction. It reminded you of the first show you saw of him, graceful yet slightly unsettling. You didn’t notice until he started pulling his weight up, that he danced himself around the ribbon - wrapping himself in it.
As he pulled higher & higher, each movement was nothing short of impressive, or mesmerizing. At one point, he let go the ribbon- allowing himself to unravel in his tangle & fall almost freely - he stopped just a few feet from the ground. The crowd cheered at his skills - you just let out a sigh of relief. You knew he’d be fine, but there was always that small part of you that did worry about him.
You heard one of the girls on the side gasp at him. “See? I told you he was cool!” One of them said a little loudly. the other one next to her replied, “You weren’t kidding, & he’s totally cute too!” What was that? “I know !! I wonder what he looks like out of his uniform!” You what? “Same!! Ugh, I bet he’s really hot.” You gave them a side glare, but quickly looked away.
You were here for Pierrot, not listening to a few, fangirls. You shouldn’t even entertain the thought of them.
He climbed high where he was at level with the seats you & the audience were in. He began swinging around the tent, getting close to audience members & making children laugh. He eventually made his way to your section. He swung himself in front of the two girls in your section, giving them his usual smile as he earned a giggles from them. “I think he likes you” you heard one of the girls whisper to the other.
Oh you’ll give them a show now.
Knowing Pierrot would swing up to you next, & without really thinking- you leaned on the railing- watching Pierrot with a smile as he shifted his weight & began coming towards you. When he was right in front of your face - so close you could see the faint blush on him, you pressed a quick light feather kiss to his lips. His face bloomed into a deep red as a swung backward with a smile that practically reached his eyes.
You smiled & chuckled to yourself at his reaction.
You knew exactly what you did, & you know everyone saw.
When the show finally ended, you waited a bit for the crowd to clear out, before finally leaving the tent. You lingered near the tent, hoping to see Pierrot.
You felt someone tap your shoulder. When you turned around, it was the two girls who were in your section. They looked at you with blank stares, you raised a brow almost confused. “Can I help you?” You asked.
The girls then looked at you, & began leaning towards you, seemingly studying your features. You leaned back & sweat dropped.
“Are you in a relationship with the Pierrot?”
“Well duh, they have to be, why else would they have done that?”
“Well it could be a situationship.”
“Ooh! What if they’re secret lovers?”
“Awe that’d be so romantic!!” One of them squealed
“You must see him out of uniform all the time-!” The other fawned.
“He must be really cute under his mask right?”
“Do you travel with him for work?”
“Do they visit this place often?”
“Do you wash his clothes?”
“Is he hot underneath his uniform?”
“STOP.” You finally said, ultimately silencing their inquiry. They stared at you for a moment with that same blank stare they gave you at the beginning.
“..so, does he have a phone number?”
“What??” You turned to look at one of them.
“Yeah! Or any other social media? I’d love to see more of him!”
Now that kinda irked you.
“The circus doesn’t allow their personal information to be given to guests.” You said flatly.
“Aww, I guess that makes sense.”
“If you want to see him more, you’ll have to come to circus more often.” You told them.
“Ugh, but tickets are so expensive!”
“Yeah, I don’t think I’ll be able to afford one for another month!”
“Might I make a suggestion, then?” The girls turned to you curiously. You didn’t show it, but you had a wicked smile behind your facade.
“There’s a man in a blue suit who walks around during the day collecting the circus flyers for recycling. If you hand him some, he’ll gift you a pink ticket as a reward.” You told them, keeping a your tone steady.
They gasped & squealed in excitement. “Really? Just like that?!”
“But why pink? I’m not complaining, but are they special?” One of the girls asked.
“Oh, very. They’re suppose to be secret show tickets.”
They seemed more excited, the more you boasted. They began to turn around to leave.
“We’ll be on the lookout! Thanks for the tip!!” They bid you farewell, & waltzed away. You waved goodbye, your sweet smile darkening as the figures became smaller & smaller.
You didn’t realize you were still waving, until you felt a hand on your shoulder, making you jolt. Putting your hand down, & looking up & behind you, you’re met with a familiar pair of golden eyes.
“Who are you waving to, my dear?” Pierrot asked.
You gave him a sweet smile. “Just some friends.” You told.
Pierrot only smiled back. He took your hand in his, & led you behind his tent, where less wandering eyes could see. When you were finally alone, he wrapped his arms around you in a tight & firm hug. You didn’t hesitate in reciprocating.
“What you did earlier..” he breathed heavily, trying to hold you impossibly closer to him. “Was quite bold of you, my dear.” His body was heating up, & you could feel his heart practically pounding against his chest. You leaned into his touch, his warmth ..
“However,” he slowly removed himself your embrace, yet keeping his hands on your shoulders. You noticed that he always had to keep at least one hand on you.
“I heard what you told them.” He said, lowering his gaze. “About the pink ticket.”
You swallowed thickly. “Is that so?”
“It is.” He took your chin in his hand, gently tilting it upwards to look at him. “I only ask why, my dear?” His smile softened, & his head cocked to the side- confused.
You averted your gaze, looking at anything that wasn’t him. “My dear, please tell me. I do not recall them saying anything bad, so why?”
Your eyes shifted between Pierrot, & a tent in the distance. Until you finally let out a heavy sigh, & stared directly at him. But it wouldn’t last, as your embarrassment took over & you averted your sights again.
“They were, annoying is all..”
He raised a brow at you, not entirely believing you.
“…they were fawning over you & stuff..” you said, your voice becoming lower until you could barley hear yourself. He was still puzzled for a moment, until it finally hit him. & it hit him hard.
At first it was just Pierrot’s cheeks that was coated in his blush, but the more he thought about it, the more red his face became.
“W..Were you perhaps, Jealous?” Pierrot said in a breathless, almost desperate voice. He stared at you with his absolute lovesick eyes that practically had hearts in them.
You tried to turn your head away, still avoiding his eyes. The edges of your own cheeks began to turn pink, & your silence only fueled his conclusion.
Pierrot didn’t hesitate to bring you into another tight hug. This time however, his grasp was so tight his claws tore into your clothes. You could feel his breath against your neck, & his heart beating faster than before.
“My dear.. you’ve no idea how happy this makes me. Knowing that you’d send people to their demise just so you could keep me for yourself? Oh how it makes my skin just burn for you my love. I want nothing more than you. Only you. You are mine my dear, & I am yours, yours alone.
You’ve no idea what you’ve just unleashed, not like you’re complaining though.
