characters like magnus are interesting because they do have a moral compass but its a very skewed one. like in his head its wrong to murder someone but making someone suffer to the point of near-death is an acceptable way to solve a grudge. still he was threatening to kill ppl like nobodys business but the second the opps get the upper hand he gives up LMFAOOO

if i were to sit down and psychoanalyze him i could probably empathize with the misery of being left behind by friends and then having the band's success shoved in your face at every turn. id say he def has a cluster b disorder and i feel that in my bpd soul butttt.. i still cannot stand him and cant see a redemption arc because he never came to experience any semblance of compassion or remorse for human suffering, all he did was pussy out because the going got tough. dont get me started on the irony behind condemning someone for betraying you and then proceeding to commit a violent betrayal against someone who never wronged you.

i could rant about magnus' lack of redeeming qualities for days, but ngl sometimes i literally just cant stand to think about him because it feeds in to my triggers/paranoias about people like that in the real world also im a kinnie LMAO sorry ..

magnus hammersmith is fun to psychoanalyze and his design is hot and that is all i can credit him for

I think this one goes better with an explanation so

Toki was just accepted to Dethklok

Skwisgaar was immediately disappointed in his own decision. He should have guessed that this boy gave his best at the audition. He didn't play good enough and didn't even work on it hard enough. So after dozens of rehearsals fucked up by Toki's mistakes Skwisgaar just lost his temper and smashed Toki's gutar. And that's when Toki got really scared. His worst nightmare was seeing his parents again and it was about to come true if Skwisgaar decided to kick him out.

Post-Requiem

Toki realized that he partly forgot how to play. And this part was really significant. He couldn't get his thoughts together and couldn't even handle standing on stage. And even though Toki forgot what happened to him, in his dreams he saw the frightening image of some man, who was somehow "coming for him".

Post-AOTD

Skwisgaar finally accepted the terrifying changes happened to Toki. He treats him as nicely as he can, and Toki feels something warm and real growing between them. (I see it more in platonic way after AOTD but whatever your heart wants) Skwisgaar is teaching him to play guitar again. And talks to him softly. Toki might guess this is all he needs to be totally happy by now.
