@raypages Intro to Writeblr
Hey hey, writers! I’m new to writerblr, so I thought I’d make this as sort of an intro to my blog 🤙
My name is Amber Rose. I’m a sixteen year old writer from the United States and currently working on my first “real” novel. I’ve been writing seriously for about three or four years at this point. I write novels and short stories and try to produce a couple of poems a week. I hope to run this blog throughout my entire writing journey!
On my blog, I mainly post about my writing journey, as well as thoughts and things I’ve learned about the creative process.
My favorite genre to write in is sort of a mix. I practice writing mostly in literary fiction, as I really enjoy working with prose and figuring out how to capture emotion in a precise way with the English language.
I’m a Pantser when it comes to writing! And I’m not ashamed of that decision. I’m a very serious Sagittarius and love coffee more than the blood that runs through my veins.
My first story (Project Moth) follows a group of three young bounty hunters who have been swindled into harboring the children of their original bounty across the city to reunite them with their parents in the hopes of receiving a higher pay. The strict conditions of their task prove to be more and more harsh as hunter and bounty grow close to each other. They must risk trust over reputation in order to figure out who really needs saving in their ominous city. (I’ll make a longer post about my project when the time is right!)
As well as writing, I enjoy drawing, painting, and being outside (in the shade…) with my dog. I’m at my best when I’m alone with my characters and a cup of iced coffee. It’s no secret that I can be completely entertained by my headphones while uselessly bopping along to alternative and rock music (mainly Nothing But Thieves and The 1975…) for hours on end.
I would love to be an English teacher or professional writer some day!
I’m terrified of fire, but that’s really a huge joke considering one of my characters wants to set the city on fire. Defeat fear with imagination, I guess.
Thanks for stopping by :)
