Personality: Usually simple-minded and straightforward until she needs to get serious. Can be clueless, oblivious, naïve and forgiving. Yuu likes helping people (except Crowley), and is often dragged into other people’s messes. She’s a chill girl, very adaptable, but scary when she’s mad. And chaotic.
Story (before getting to Twisted Wonderland): A few days before getting transported to Twisted Wonderland, Yui was at school. She and Yuuken went to the same high school, but she was in a year below his.
That day, when she was washing her hands in the girls’ bathroom, one of the bullies who’d been harassing Yui for a while got so mad that Yui was not easily affected by her actions and grabbed a pair of scissors and snipped a large chunk of her hair.
That surprised Yui because she never noticed the girl hated her. Yes, she was oblivious to the bullying, not unaffected. Another girl who saw the whole thing rushed to get a teacher. The commotion caused a lot of people to gather and Yuuken was there too. He was calm about it, pissed off but calmed himself to help his sister instead of getting angry at the bully. He helped cut Yuu’s hair and tried to make it look less messy.
Yui wasn’t bothered about her hair, she didn’t like how she didn’t notice that she was being bullied. She didn’t want to stay naive.
The bully was suspended and she took the bus back to her house, leaving the school early. Her mom was out as usual and didn’t even care about the hair when she saw it.
Yui and Yuuken’s mom isn’t abusive, but she was sure as hell not a good mom. She let them do what they want and didn’t really take care of them, giving them money for what they need and leaving them to take care of themselves. She sometimes hired a maid when they were kids and she first got a divorce, making Yuuken take care of his little sister.
Yui and Koito are friends and classmates. Koito had a small crush on her and admires Yuuken.
During the next few days after getting her haircut, she started watching more TV and got more online. She used to be uninterested by the internet and liked living in the moment by taking walks and trying different activities. But after noticing how clueless she could be, she wanted to learn how to avoid that, and notice when someone is becoming sarcastic or not, which she did, quite fast.
She learned brainrot terms and phrases and had fun watching Vine and funny TikToks. This made her the silly and chaotic person she currently is. She can still be oblivious sometimes, but she can be sly when she needs to.
Even with that, she still hasn’t seen any Disney movies. Not like she was purposely avoiding them, she just grew up listening to unhinged stories created by Yuuken on the spot.
Yui had started going to Yuuken’s Kendo practice to cheer for her brother and only friend. The night she was teleported, she and Yuuken were waiting for the bus. And when the Dark Carriage appeared, Yui pushed Yuuken out of the way. When he turned back, she was gone.
Story (after getting to Twisted Wonderland): Yui found herself waking up in a coffin, dressed in NRC’s ceremonial robes, while Grim was pulling the lid to her coffin open. He threatened her and ordered for her to give him her uniform, to which she answered him by dashing off.
He chased her into the library where Crowley found them and secured Grim, asking for her name, but she stuttered and he just assumed her name was Yuu.
After the ceremony and the chaos caused by Grim. Grim showed up back in Ramshackle and they both fought off the ghosts, who then became their friends.
After Yuu met Ace and Deuce and after they got back from the mines (where she repeatedly kept saying “the children yearn for the mines”), the next day, she found out that Night Raven College is and all-boys school. That’s when she found out that everyone around her thought she was a boy.
She did get a little annoyed when Ace compared her to Epel, saying “You’d also look like a girl if you put a little effort.”
So she just kept pretending to be a boy. And the only reason Grim didn’t accidentally let her secret slip, is because he keeps forgetting. He doesn’t care. Yuu is Yuu.
After a few days, Yuu started to get cramps and immediately asked the Ramshackle ghost for help. They told her to go to Professor Trein, who they overheard had daughters.
Trein was kind and gentle with her, promising that he’ll keep her secret except for a certain few that will also help her.
He told Sam, who immediately started stocking feminine hygiene products in the back, just for her. With discounts of course, since everyone knows Crowley isn’t giving her much of an allowance.
Then Trein told Crewel and the school nurse. Crewel, because he sometimes takes the students‘ measurements for clothes, and the nurse for physical exams.
The nurse told Vargas to go easy on the Ramshackle prefect because he gets sick for a few days every month. Which Vargas totally believed.
How the other students found out she was a girl:
Book 1: When she stepped on Leona’s tail, he noticed her scent being different but it was difficult to tell because her scent was a mix of being from another world, old clothes, and dust. He had suspicions but didn’t say anything. Ruggie too, but unlike Leona, he just shrugged it off as just her being from another world.
Book 2: At the end of book 2, after the Spelldrive Tournament, Yuu was passed out after Grim accidentally hit her in the head with the disk. Deuce lifted her onto his back and— uh oh. He froze up after feeling her chest on his back. He nervously called Ace over who took her from him just to freeze up too.
The nurse marched up and took her to the infirmary. Yuu missed out on seeing the rest of the matches between the Houses.
After the matches were over, Ace, Deuce, and Grim head to the infirmary to visit Yuu. Jack, Ruggie and Leona were each on a bed too. When Yuu woke up, Deuce, whispered too loudly and forgot that beastmen have better hearing than Ace who was right next to Deuce, asked what to do about the fact that Yuu is a girl. The Savanaclaw boys heard. Jack is SHOCKED, while Ruggie is playfully like, “I thought you’re too cute to be a boy.” And Leona is unsurprised and is like, “Yeah, I had suspicions.”
The nurse entered and threatened them while waving around his scalpel threateningly to keep the fact that she is a girl a secret. To which they did.
Book 3: Riddle, Cater, and Trey find out when Deuce accidentally lets it slip. They don’t make a big deal out of it, but Riddle does get a little flustered when he remembers the way he acted towards her before (during Book 1)
Book 4: After Jamil’s overblot and at the end of Book 4, Yuu, Grim, the Scarabia Duo, the Octo Trio, and the rest of Scarabia dorm, walked through the desert and Kalim uses his Signature Spell to make an oasis so they could party. When Ace and Deuce show up, running through the desert after seeing Yuu’s SOS when she was trapped in Scarabia. They traveled from all the way from the Queendom of Roses and back to Sage island then through the Scarabia mirror and the desert just to see that the problem was solved and Jamil de-overblotted but Yuu and Grim still filled them in.
Yuu complains about the walk causing her cramps because she’s on her period. The Scarabia duo freeze like, PERIOD? Since they both have younger sisters (Jamil has Najma and Kalim has so many younger siblings so he knows).
Then we have the Octo trio who are like, “What’s a period?” but realize she’s a girl when Kalim shouts it out like, “YUU, YOU’RE A GIRL??”
Ace and Deuce go “You never told them?”
And she’s like, “I forgot to mention it.”
Book 5: Rook already knew. From the moment he saw her in the ceremony, he knew. From the bone structure, of course. But he never mentioned it. When Yuu was auditioning for the VDC (aka SDC), she did pretty good with the dancing, since she used to do ballet back in her world and she had a decent singing voice, not wow, just good.
Vil considered accepting her until Rook told him she was a “mademoiselle”. Vil chose someone else because he assumed she wanted her identity to be kept a secret and didn’t want anyone watching the championship to figure out her secret.
When the members of the team Vil chose were staying at Ramshackle, Vil gave Yuu a gift as a thank you for your hospitality and telling her that he knew she was a girl. The gift was a dress. Yuu put it on and looked at herself in her mirror in her room when Epel walked in.
He stared at her for a few solid seconds before going, “You’re a femboy?”
“No, I’m a girl.”
Epel panics and runs to Vil screaming at the top of his lungs to which Vil ignores everything except the fact that Epel didn’t knock. Which caused a lecture.
Book 6: Ortho has always known Yuu is physically a girl, but didn’t want to assume so he just referred to her by the same pronouns as everyone else did. After Idia’s overblot, and the renovations in Ramshackle, when Idia and Ortho visited with video games for Yuu, they were all playing against each other and Ace said “You play well for a girl.” Which earned him a smack on the head by Vil for accidentally being misogynistic.
Idia panics when he hears that and then Crowley walks in and hears that and he panics and then confiscates Yuu’s school uniform pants, replacing them with a plain black school skirt and walking away while praising his generosity.
Book 7: The whole school knows she is a girl now that she is in a skirt. She doesn’t really care though. But the first years (especially Ace and Deuce) are usually close by just in case one of the guys acts out.
Lilia, Silver and Sebek, didn’t really know her well before finding out she is a girl. Malleus, however, didn’t notice and she had to flat out tell him that she was a girl and she’s wearing a skirt because the Headmage took her pants away. He didn’t notice because he assumed it was just modern human fashion. Since he’s probably seen Lilia in skirts before (you can’t convince me he’s never cross dressed).
Event characters:
Georgina Leech: The twins told her through a phone call. Plus, I like to imagine that Yuu’s secret was already out when this event takes place.
Najma: She notices quickly. Nothing specific, she just felt a vibe, fussed over her, curiously asking how she survives living around teenage boys.
Dylla Spade: Deuce told her. That’s it.
Rollo: When Yuu mentioned that the outfit was a little tight in the chest area. He got a tailor to quickly adjust it with magic.
Ernesto and Gino (aka Fellow and Gidel): They don’t know LMAO
Skully: He knows straight away, since she was passed out on his lap for a while. And he was such a gentleman. Yuu had a little crush on him.
Oh Book 7 ilyyyy and all your dreams, from your Lilia’s to your Trey’s. Ily.
Cuz what do you MEAN we get to share a cloak with Silver, carry Malleus’s egg, Ace basically cries for Yuu, AND we hear Riddle says slurs?? Oh Malleus… The fever dreams you’ve created… the chaos… All of if is so beautiful
Anyway, here’s Yuu and Silver jumping into Sebek’s dream. Yuu starts wearing a skirt at the very beginning of Book 7 because her secret was fully out by then and Crowley confiscated her pants
Ok so this isn’t necessary of me but I just HAVE to mention it because it’s been going through my mind for a while.
Keep in mind that the characters ages in the sheets in the game are their ages AT THE START OF THE GAME ONLY. And the school year starts around the beginning of September.
Okayyyyy starting with:
First years (in order):
Ace: Ace is 16 years old at the beginning, and turns 17 on the 23rd of September. So he was only 16 years old for less than a month into the school year.
Jack: Jack turns 17 on October 11th. Less than a month younger than Ace.
Jack and Ace’s birthdays are on the same year, while the other first years’ birthdays are in the year after.
Sebek: Sebek turns 17 on the 17th of March.
Epel: Turns 17 on May 15th.
Deuce: Turns 17 on June 3rd (either in the summer holiday or around end of year exams), making him canonically the youngest out of the first years.
Ortho: His age isn’t certain, but his birthday is on August 14th (idk if that’s HIS birthday or the other Ortho’s) so his birthday might be his “creation day”.
Second Years (in order):
Jamil: The oldest between the 2nd years. He turns 18 on September 12th, meaning he was already 18 during his overblot.
Jade and Floyd: They turn 18 on the 5th of November.
Those three are born on the same year.
The rest are born on the same year as Ace and Jack but before the beginning of the school year.
Azul: Turns 18 on February 24th
Ruggie: Turns 18 on April 18th
Silver: Turns 18 on May 15th (as shown at the end of Book 7)
Kalim: Turns 18 on June 25 (at the beginning or right before summer break)
Riddle: Riddle turns 18 on August 24th, making him only one month older than Ace.
Third Years (in order):
Trey: Turns 19 on October 25th.
Rook: Turns 19 on December 2nd.
Idia: Turns 19 on December 18th. So he was already 19 during his overblot.
Lilia: No one knows how old he exactly is, just that he’s around 700. He doesn’t even remember his birthday.
Malleus: He is 178 at the beginning and turns 179 on January 18th. I’m assuming he’s supposed to be an 18 year old if he was human, so I’m assuming every 10 years to us he ages around one year.
The rest (except Leona) share the same birth year as Jamil and the Tweels.
Cater: Turns 19 on February 4th.
Vil: Turns 19 on April 9th.
Leona: Turns 21 on July 27th (on summer break)
