i always find it difficult to talk about ghostbusters with the actual intended audience it came out for because I, for example, watch the movie with an intense burning of lust within me and it is NOT for blatant possesed dana barrett sex appeal...

GET BOMBED, IDIOT
(Ghostbusters fandom, I must know what would happen if Boogie got hit with the Ghost Bomb. Does it just... explodes in his face???/lh)
Just some of my personal favourite stories about Harold from Violetâs book, Ghostbusterâs Daughter:
Harold and Violet driving forever to find a Cabbage Patch Kid doll for her when all the stores were sold out:
âMy dad and I drove more than a hundred miles that weekend searching for my doll. Twice, the people had already sold their goods by the time we got there. At one of our stops in Pasadena, a guy tried to pass off a redhead as a brunette. âWell, you must be fucking colorblind!â my dad yelled at the guy as he pulled me down the driveway. We finally got lucky on a Sunday afternoon in Downey. Iâll never forget the pastel floral pattern of the womanâs house dress as she placed the doll in my arms. Her birth certificate said Ava, but I called her Cara Alicia. I felt like the proudest little mama in the whole world and my dad smiled down at me and said, âYou better love that goddamn doll until you die.â.â
Them singing Les MisĂŠrables together:
âBy far, my dadâs and my favourite thing to sing together had to have been Les MisĂŠrables. We saw the stage show several times, listened to different cast recordings (he liked Patti LuPone as Fantine; I was not as enamoured) and we watched all of the anniversary specials on PBS. We always put a lot of heart into our renditions, switching back and forth between the characters, alternately laughing and crying as the story progressed. After my dad got sick, I would sing Les Miz to entertain him. Iâd make my voice extra nasal or add in ridiculous choreography â anything to make him smile. Now I still sing it sometimes, but it mostly makes me cry. âYou will live, Papa, youâre going to live. Itâs too soon, to soon to say goodbye.â âYes, Cosette, forbid me now to die. Iâll obey, I will try.â.â
Harold being a totally dorky dad when driving Violet and her friends somewhere:
âOr, once when I was playing music in the car as he drove a group of us somewhere, âDid he just say âToo Short baby, all in them gutsâ? Nice. Great song. Really dopey, right, guys?â
âDad, itâs dope, not dopey, and you can stop.â
âStop what?â He said cheerfully. âIâm just talking to the guys about my friend Mr. Short.â
âDad!â I said through gritted teeth while my friends snickered in the backseat.
âOh all right, Violet, Iâll stop. But remember what Mr. Short said, âBig butts, not big mouths,â okay?â
And the boys died laughing, while I pretended to die from embarrassment.â
I'm not crying you're crying
Happy Groundhog Day!!! Hereâs Haroldâs cameo in the film
I need him to pin me down on the bed and fucking wreck me all night long.
Iâm instantly turned on
