June 29,2019 - My bestfriends and I booked a trip to Surigao City. It was originally planned by the four of us, but suddenly our friend didn't make it because of conflict of schedule.
We've traveled for almost 31 hrs from Surigao to Laguna. The perks of traveling in a land trip is seeing the different scenic view that we passed by like the San Juanico bridge from Leyte and the Agas-agas bridge from Leyte also. Its amazing because in order to travel to Surigao, we passed by so many provinces like Quezon, Bicol, Samar and Leyte. 6hrs to Quezon, another 6hrs to Bicol until we landed to our first ferry which is at the Matnog port, Sorsogon going to San Isidro Samar. And then another rode to the bus again, Samar to Leyte and it takes 6hrs again going to Leyte. From Leyte, 5hrs travel going to Liloan port, Southern Leyte. We arrived at Surigao del Norte at 11:00 pm on July 1.
FIRST DAY
Booked a boat ride to Nonoc, a barangay in Surigao. We chose to go there because my best friends have relatives in there, we’ve stayed there for three days.
FINALLY, SIARGAO.
July 5,2019. We woke up early because we have to catch the first pumpboat going to Surigao City. 5 am will be the first trip to the city. Then, after that, we came early to the city. What we did, we found a Thrift Shop where we have bought those cheap polos and shirts. 1pm, we already arrived at my bestfriend's grandparent's house at Siargao.
At the time that we’ve arrived there, we went to Jersalim Swimming pool, Dapa, Siargao. It is a public pool where you're going to swim with the fishes from the Sea. There water from the pool came from the sea.
We went to Cloud 9, it is famous because it is where Siargao is known for, the Surfing Capital of the Philippines. It is located at General Luna, Siargao. We rode Trisikad ( the tricycle) because none of us knows how to drive a Habal. Btw, Habal-habal is there way of transportation there. There are many foreigners who has their own Habal with a rack on the other side for the surf board they used. We spent a little time on Cloud 9 because we don’t know how to surf and also it is expensive for us to spend 500 for an hour of surfing lesson, we also bought too many souvenirs at Cloud 9.
On the afternoon at the same day, we went to Magpupungko rock pools. It must be included to your bucket list when you’re planning to have a vacay on Siargao. Why? because Magpupungko rock pools is so attractive,it is one of the scenic spot in Siargao that you must not miss. Waters from Magpupungko was from the high tides at night that’s why at morning, people swim to the tidal pool from the high tide. Also, its beautiful rock formation is a must see.
On our Last day, we went Island hopping. Of course, we took time to appreciate how beautiful Siargao is. We woke up at 6 am to prepare for our packed foods and packed stuff. At 8 am, we went to Boulevard because the Bangkero is waiting for us.
First stop
Guyam Island. - It was pretty. Based on the name, Guyam is a bisaya term for small. It was a small island, the water is crystal clear. Among the islands that I have visited, Guyam will always be my favorite. In fact, you can rent the whole Guyam Island according to the people there.
Then, we arrived at Daku Island which according to my best friend's grandfather, it was discovered by a foreigner. Daku Island, referring to the name, it is a big island. We took our lunch there. There are many tourists when we arrived.
Also my favorite Island, Naked Island. That island has nothing except for the sand and water. Unlike the first two island, you can stay a long. What makes the Naked Island attractive is its sand bar. At that time, there are too many tourists, there are many foreigners that mesmerized by Naked Island’s beauty.
Lastly,a newly developed island has been included to our Island hopping itinerary, Corregidor Island.
Since it is a newly developed Island, there are only few tourists go there. One of the things we did there was Snorkeling. We rented a goggles at the shop there and went snorkeling. I saw a Sea Urchin and different species of fish.

The day we went back to Laguna. I had a great vacation and it was my first time to go to Mindanao. That will always be treasured and I promise to go back in Siargao and explore more.
